The location is tight with seating often; however, I do not mind sitting outside for fresh air and get work done. Coming from Seattle, I know that I am one huge coffee snob. However, I order the same drink every day (tall iced non fat vanilla latte) and this Starbucks seems to get it right 1:4 times. I usually don't complain or have them make me a new one...but, It's gotten to be so frequent that I have had them re-make the drink, and when I ask they are SO rude! I've started visiting the Coffee Bean & Tea leaf more often! read more

Wow.....worst customer service, by some lazy staff. One customer in front of me, 5 staff working, no cars in the drive through. Only one star for bad customer service. Pulled into the drive - thru Friday night at 8:58 p.m. It was still lit up, but no one took my order so I proceeded to the window. Starbuck employee told me they were closed; that they had closed at 9 p.m. I told him that i had arrived before 9 p.m. and he said "no you didn't; the bell went off so we are closed." Guy was a jerk. And there was still a customer in the store. Coffee bean is just as good, right down the street, and getting my business. read more

If Starbucks wasn't so yummy I'd probably not put up with this location, but since it is.... I wait in the long drive thru lines even when they take 20 min. Its nice if you have time to chill inside for a bit, but if you are in a hurry I suggest the Seattle's best just down the road on Brodie. Never a line and the coffee is just as good. read more

Great staff. Never had a problem getting my order expeditiously. HOWEVER, left today w/o buying a thing because of a lack of seats. Made worse by people (yes, you retiree that sits there for HOURS every day devouring the NY Times and WSJ with nary a drink in sight) that hog all the seats inside. Love this Starbucks, I obviously come here too often, as some of the staff now recognize me. All of the staff is friendly and they're fast at making the drinks. Update: I have frequented multiple other locations in Austin, San Marcos, Houston, and San Antonio. These guys continue to be the best location in terms of friendliness, as well as store cleanliness. That's fairly impressive considering the size and the number of people that visit the store. 12/3/16 update: I had to lower my review to three stars, down from my previous five-star rating. The previous staff that I was accustomed to dealing with are almost all gone, with the exception of two people. The new staff, despite having worked here for a while, do not work at the same high standards of the old staff. The drink quality is actually quite poor, and the line inside takes a very long time even when you're the only person that they have served. This is because they focus their energy on the drive-thru, and they spend too much time rushing around and letting your shots sit after they are drawn (you are supposed to add them to the drink pretty much immediately after they are done). I have spent 10 minutes waiting for a drink, despite being the only person that had ordered something, and I have had multiple experiences where the drinks needed to be remade. The old staff has moved to the Mopac and William Cannon or to the 290/71 Starbucks, and the quality and consistency of drinks is much better here. I have actually stopped visiting this store entirely, aside from occasionally ordering ground coffee or gift cards. If you do stop by here and the drive-thru line isn't long, don't bother going inside. That, or use the mobile ordering feature. Also, PLEASE make sure to drink your coffee before you leave, this way they can remake it if it's terrible. 5/11/17 update: Well, another drink was bad. But, this update isn't about the drink, it's about the store manager, Philip. He is definitely the best store manager I have met in a long time, and he seems to truly care about both the staff and the store. Not once have I met him where he's not ultra friendly, and he's very interactive with his customers. He also tries to make things right, and I do appreciate that. read more

I used to feel guilty about going here, and would force myself to get a cheap coffee at the HEB across the street. But HEB's coffee is not as good and then they raised their price to almost what it costs at SB, so I gave in and started going to SB. It's worth it. $2.00 for a 16 oz house coffee that tastes great. The folks who work here range from pleasantly friendly to outrageously gregarious. Most of them now know me and my order and it is always made and delivered quickly and with a smile. They all also know (and probably chuckle at) my wife's finicky iced green tea latte order (no syrup, one splenda, extra macha(?). Parking and going in is so much more enjoyable (and perhaps quicker) than the drive-through. Check out the neat upstairs loft if you have time to hang out. They do have wi-fi, albeit paid. As at all SBs, iPhones get it gratis. Walking here with our dog and hanging out in front to meet neighbors with their dogs is one of our family's little weekend treats. The surrounding shopping village is becoming chock full of restaurants, too, including one of my favorites: Satellite Grill. I gotta say that I love this place. read more

This particular Starbucks has served me coffee twice when I ordered chai. This is mainly notable in that I am severely allergic to coffee, and one sip is enough to cause a serious reaction. Both times this has happened, the attitude of management has been "Well, if you're so allergic why do you come to Starbucks?" BECAUSE I DRINK CHAI. I need my caffeine fix just like anyone else. The first time it happened no one acted sorry but they did give me a gift card to come back. When I used the card, lo and behold, I was served coffee a second time. Again, the employees just couldn't seem to understand why it was such a big deal. Needless to say, I wont be coming back. read more

This Starbucks has been "my Starbucks" for a few years. They always have LONG lines at the drive through, but it really does move fast. The few times I have tried to park, run in and see if the car I was behind was still in line, but the drive through always wins! lol I haven't seen Hugo there in a while, but all the employees are awesome and personable. They seem to always be having fun! One time I went through the drive through and I forgot my wallet, he gave me my drink and told me to come back when I got a chance. How to ruin a neighborhood institution. This has been my local Starbucks for years. I am here at least once a week to write or meet with folks. I know many of the staff by name. Then for some reason they underwent an extensive renovation that shut the place down for 3 months. When it returned it seemed they turned more pace over to the staff at the expense of the customer. And somehow the lineup system is even less efficient than before. It's like they brought in an interior designer who gave zero thought to logistics or customer process. They removed half of the - already in demand - seating. The only thing I can think is they make most of their money from the drive through and decided to capitalize on that at the expense of the inside customers. But we're not on a highway. This is a neighborhood space. Very disappointing. read more

This service is horrible and all the employees look like they are seriously miserable. I came in today around 3-3:30 and pleasantly ordered a tea, which the counter lady (a heavy set lady with cranberry hair) said hey no longer carried. I wasn't upset, I just asked for a suggestion. She suggested a tea at a low volume and I said "I'll take it". I want to be clear I was the only person in line and the only order they had accept for two cars in the drive thru. Since this was the case I assumed my cold tea wouldn't take too long since they had an extremely full staff- boy was I wrong. I waited a good ten minutes before a group of school kids came in, and proceeded to receive their cotton candy fraps in a quite speedy manner. Feeling like I had been ignored I hesitancy approached a man who was cleaning the sitting area- and told him I think they might have forgotten my tea. Without apology he said "eh I don't think so" and proceeded to ask what I ordered, I informed him it was a suggestion and due to her lack of vocal volume I wasn't sure which tea it was. His response was "you don't know what you ordered?". "Nope" I reiterated. He then asked if they were working on any tea orders. They all replied no. And the man said and did nothing. He wasn't like "oh she paid and has waited for tea, maybe we should make it!" Instead he literally did nothing. Thank god for the Angel of a man behind the counter, working the drive thru who asked the low personality cashier what I ordered. I would say this man was enough to take this one star to a two or even three stars- until he rudely slid my tea across the counter at me. Now I have worked in food industry for years before I realized I hated it and developed the drive to get out of it- so do I expect perfect service, hell no. However I do expect kindness. It's simple to exhibit and cost these employees nothing. I thankfully don't live in the area, so I won't be back; I will say if you do live in the area avoid this place like the plague. In a couple of months the employees will run off all the tipping adults that come to this place and will be left with what they deserve, making cotton candy fraps for rude kids. Maybe this will show them some humility. You all work at Starbucks not a morgue, cheer up and treat your customers like they matter. read more

As this is my neighborhood Starbucks, I loathe writing this. The crew there are undoubtedly cheerful, hardworking and seem to work well together, under the busiest of circumstances. But every single visit that I (admittedly a non-regular) take in the morning on my way in to work leaves me frustrated and deeply regretful for having made the wretched stop here in the first place. For as well stocked as they are, they never seem to have on hand what I need - all chocolate milk in the cooler case out front instead of 2% milk and NEVER any regular potato chips. SERIOUSLY. How in the hell does Starbucks run out of these things? When I ask about it I get the kind of cheerful yet condescending and meaningless response one might expect from the tidy, dutiful bureaucrats one might expect to greet you as you enter the Ninth Level of Hell. Maybe it's just my bad luck, or maybe The Universe just hates me (probably the latter). And this morning's wait for a breakfast sandwich took WAY too long. The recent remodel is a glossy veneer that conceals a swirling vortex of smug condescension (the kind you get if you're NOT a regular) and industrious incompetence. I guess I just need to realize that The Universe has deviously devised seemingly welcoming and pleasant places to spend money that (again, probably only for me) are in actuality wretched singularities of humiliation and frustration. I'll spare that hard-working bunch the futile exercise of my meager patronage and never darken their doorstep again. read more
