Like many reviews say, perfect for drivers from Vegas headed to LA or San Diego in my case. Best part it's in the same campus of a gas station, helps a lot. There was quite a lot of crowd when we went in, and the staff tried their best to fulfill orders in timely manner, specially since there is a drive through as well. All that said, the order took well over 20 mins to arrive. The mocha we ordered was one of the worst I have had. May be it's the time of the day with lot of crowd or may be it's the staff itself (like many reviews say, not so competent). Wish they could atleast make the mocha right, even if they took more time. The girl that took my order was super nice (short blonde hair and wore a long black skirt: sorry I didn't get her name). The staff making the drinks are very slow. The barista that makes the drinks for the walk in portion of the store thinks that she can multitask but in reality she can not... my soy and expresso were done for about 3 minutes before she poured them into one cup together so I could leave. There was another staff girl there that was "stocking" the supplies but while doing so was making sexual gestures with the tube of caramel to another barista. There was a girl in the bathroom that had just finished "cleaning" the bathroom as I entered but you most definitely could not tell. I travel to Barstow for work so I frequent this particular Starbucks. This location has messed up on more orders than any other Starbucks I use. Normally I just deal with it but today was worth the review. The person taking my order today was extremely rude. Not that this location is especially knows for their stellar customer service but today took the cake. Unfortunately this is the closest location to me and the only one with a drive thru. I'd give it 1 star but that would be unfair to those in there that actually do a great job. Yes, there are some staff members who do it right but sadly more often then not it's the other way around. I ordered a venti iced white mocha with soy and when I received my drink it looked like milk over ice. For the first time in my life, a drive thru Starbucks made my Americano perfectly. Usually they don't get the cream and Splenda ratio quite right. I told the guy lotsa cream lotsa Splenda. He did it! Perfectly! I'm the biggest fan of drive thru Starbucks. We were on the road and drove thru the drive thru for our pick-me-up. Then we parked in the lot and went inside to use their bathroom. It was a big location with very clean amenities. They also had plenty of parking. It's not located in a convenient spot but we managed after a few goes around. Starbucks is one of those places where the menu items are generally consistent everywhere you go; my grande triple shot soy latte was exactly what I expected. The bathroom was OK. We placed our simple, or so we thought, order for two venti black iced teas in the drive-thru. We got about 2 miles up the freeway then noticed that we received 2 venti sweet teas. I turned around and went back to the store to let them know we received the wrong order. I was told that they sweeten ALL tea orders and that I didn't order my drink properly. I have placed the same order at every Starbucks I have visited from Eureka to LA and have never had this issue before. Glad the staff let me know to take my Starbucks Gold card elsewhere. Quick little place to stop into on my way from Vegas to California. It's a little on the cluttered side, and pretty dim, but the baristas are friendly and fast! Conveniently located on E Main st in Barstow, this Starbucks is a hop, skip, and a jump, away from the 15. Because it was over 100 degrees outside, I opted to waste gas in pollute the environment in the drive thru. Even though there were a few cars in front of me, I got in and out in the same amount of time as any other Starbucks drive thru out there. My drink came out fine, as well as my parents' frappucinos and sandwiches. They even utilized my gold member discounts at my request. Good job, good effort. read more
