I usually always go to this Starbucks, but over the last two months the service has been horrible because of the new staff. I placed an online order at this location, and when I went to go pick it up - NONE of the barista's were attentive and didn't even bother to help me out. Rather then helping people out, they had conversations amongst each other while having the decency to stare at me while doing so. When I finally had asked for help, the barista managed to give me a rude and snobby answer as to why she didn't help me. I'm very not pleased with how this location has the ability to hire people who lack good customer service skills. read more

I'm a first time yelp reviewer but I thought that this review is warranted . I'm currently a student in college and this is my go to place to study. The staff here are always super busy in the mornings, but are friendly. One of the barista's, Tyler is always on top his game, and always working. Pretty good Starbucks. Employees are friendly and the place has indoor and outdoor seating. They also have a conference room that you can reserve for work meetings. I come here often. Wait is never too long and he employees work fast. One of the better Starbucks in the area. read more

I usually choose Peet's over Starbucks but this is a convenient and central meeting place wiht LOTS of indoor seating so I go here pretty often to meet business owners to talk about their payroll. read more

I enjoy the large amounts of study space in this Starbucks! There are several large tables, and even a study room in the back. The chairs are a little torn up, and the tables are wobbly, but it is completely functional! And it doesn't get as crowded as other Starbucks. There's also a ton of natural lighting so that studying doesn't have to be depressing. Service is quick and they don't seem to run out of drinks like the other Starbucks that I go to in Vallejo. read more

This is my favorite Starbucks and I've been to many. They have a comfortable seating area, a conference room you can reserve for free, and a lending library bookshelf. The baristas are knowledgeable and the store is almost always spotless. I wish they were open later, they close at 8pm on weeknights, but Benicia is a sleepy town. read more

Very nice Starbucks! Comfortable chairs and the line moves quickly. Bruce is one of the better team members at making coffee drinks than the staff members at many of the other Starbucks in the area! I have been going to this Starbucks for quite a while. Every time I go to to another Starbucks in Benicia, I'm reminded how much I love my buddies in Solano Square. Down to a person, every interaction I have with EVERY employee here makes me feel special. I have a weird order (involving more caramel than can possibly be healthy for me!) and I they totally indulge my oddities. You can tell what a good time they have with each other and it reflects in the way they interact with customers. I always leave there in a good mood (I can't say the same about the two other SBs here). Everyone seems to anticipate each other's needs, and pitch in to help. I won't name names of the people I adore there because it's everyone. I hope management rewards them. read more

I don't mind waiting a reasonable amount of time to place my order, but 15 minutes, not to mention the 8 people behind me, 1 cashier( very friendly but geez, cut the chit chat when you have a line to the door.) another employee decided to sweep the entrance rather than open another register. The customer service is very poor. Why don't you train your employees to put off menial tasks and take care of the customer first. I've been coming to this place 4-5 times a week for the last 8 years or so. Think I need to find a new place. Employees that have always made this place a great place to walk into are gone. Newer employees have no personality and have no idea what the definition of customer service is. Anyone can pour coffee but it takes the right people to make you feel welcome. How to review this "Starbucks" place. Well, first off, they have their own proprietary sizing system to make sure you sound like a stupid tourist when you order. But that's okay, because the coffee, the coffee is amazingly slightly better than 7-11. Sadly, there was no one here doing homework or "writing a novel" (quotes needed) - so I didn't get the full Starbucks experience. Anyway, the coffee makers, feel free to call them Baristas, I won't because my spell check doesn't have it and I don't care enough to Google it, are cool and didn't screw up my order of coffee, which, of course had to be a "Venti drip with no room" instead of "coffee". read more

Over all, I like this Starbucks; they always get my drink order right and they do it pretty snappily (is that a word?) My ONLY complaint is that, if you forget to ask for a stopper with your drink, and you have to go back and get one, you have a choice: Ask the person making the drinks, or butt in in the line so you can get the person taking orders to give you one. Today (Sunday a.m., a VERY BUSY time for them admittedly, and very long line as they only had one register open) the person making the drinks pointedly ignored my 2 requests. I finally butted back in line and got one from the person taking orders, but by that time I was a bit annoyed and commented that they might want to put the stoppers out so people can get them for themselves. One of the baristas then stated "We can't". I had a dog in a hot car, so I didn't stick around to ask why not....But I sure am wondering. Are they radioactive? Do they think we're going to steal them (what a score!) Also - and this complaint wouldn't just apply to Starbucks, but many cafe/restaurant/snack bar vendors - for the price we're paying for our coffee drinks, we shouldn't have to wait in line for some idiot who's asking the barista to go down the entire menu and answer a bajillion questions about each item. That person should be taken aside and assisted OUT OF THE LINE. If I'm paying upwards of 4 bucks for a not-so-huge drink, I don't think it's good business practice to expect me to wait an extra 10-20 minutes in line so half the menu can be explained to someone who's self-absorbed and rude enough not to care that they're holding up a line of people who took the trouble to figure out what they want, and just want to order and get outta there. read more

My entire opinion on this Starbucks changed this morning. I'm so upset that I felt like I needed to write this review right away. I went in and ordered my usual venti mocha, the lady that rang me up was fine. I waited for the barista to make my drink, and when it was ready I turned around to see this HUGE mess. My drink had completely overflowed, which would've been fine had she offered to at least wipe it down. She was much more concerned about the conversation that she was having about SF and Jell-O shots. I waited, dumbfounded for a minute, and finally asked her is she was going to wipe the drink down. She looked at me like I was asking her to rub my damn feet! She finally came back with one napkin, blotted the drink, and then said "that's the best that I can do." She went on to ask me if I would like a stopper, and I explained that it wasn't going to stop anything! Was she kidding, or what?? To avoid being late to work, I walked over and cleaned the drink MYSELF! The entire cup is covered in chocolate and espresso. It was by far the worst customer service I have ever encountered, and I will be going to Safeway or Southampton from now on. read more
