I figured this will be the best way to give an insight about my son's and my experience at this particular Starbucks location (Cotswold Shopping Center) on 12/26/20 round 715pm. After me and my son went shopping at the mall, my son wanted to get some refreshment and buy his twin sister a gift card. I parked in front of the main entrance and told my son to get what he wanted. He came back a few min later got in my car and said "what is that about, they didn't believe my $100 Bill was real so they didn't want to take it" I told my son I can give him $20 bills so he can get what he wanted, he still said he would rather not go back to the store. I could tell the experience made him feel very uncomfortable, so I didn't want to push it so I simply left. As we were driving away he told me more about how the situation took place. My son said that the customer that was behind him even looked at the bill and said it was real. But the worker said he is not going to risk it. My son told me that the customer felt bad for him and offered him a drink but my son thanked him and told him he didn't want any. So i decided to call the store, but I got the VM. So we turned around and went back to the store. Upon arrival my son pointed out the worker that denied him services simply because the worker believed the "money looked not real". I approached the worker and told him that I have issues on how he treated my son while he was at the store. The worker who later said his name is David, stated that the money did not real that's why he didn't take it. I told David that you don't just "look" at money and say it's not real that it's
freaking ridiculous to deny services. I added that I got the money from the bank. David stared he has taken some courses in the past and that he can tell it is not real and I can take the money back to the bank and there no chance am going to get any thing from the store and that I can leave the store and that he doesn't not work for me he works for Starbucks. David went on to yell and curse in front of other customers made me an my son uncomfortable even more. I respect David questioned if the money is real or not since it's a big bill- but NOT by looking at it, he could have used a marker or other ways to verify. I told David I will have to call a police because I couldn't resolve the issue with him acting like the was he was. Shortly after I talked to a police officer that was near by, I told the officer about the situation and even showed him the money. The police officer confirmed the money was real. We told him how the situation made us feel. He decided to go and talk to David. Shortly after I was informed by the police officer the reason they didn't use a marker to verify is because they run out of marker. I appreciate the officer that went above and beyond to do what he did. He also suggested to do a YELP reviews and talk to the headquarter and that's what am doing. Don't get me wrong, David seems to be a hard working man, he was cleaning and mopping when I got there to talk to him. But your customer service is where it all starts. How he made my son feel as a young man is unacceptable. read more
