I'm not a coffee drinker, so I got the large Chai Latte. It was very good and was a nice hot cup. The staff was very helpful in helping to choose what to order. The interior was pleasant and clean. The seats were covered with a fabric, which made them more comfortable. I saw a few folks working at their computers on their large tables. The bathrooms were clean and spacious also. It was later so only one woman working-she was great and worked as fast as she could but still kept our pour overs authentic and made great sandwiches for my parents who were taking them for a long flight. The place was very clean and cute. The macchiato, the pour over Honduras, and the pour over Ethiopia were excellent. I had a GLUTEN FREE pumpkin muffin that was amazing! This little spot has plenty of seating, both indoor and outdoor which is covered as well. This is a great spot for a meeting or conference call. I ordered a Carmel macchiato and it was perfect. Much better than the usual Starbucks variety. The customer service was lacking for sure. No greeting or warm welcome upon entering the business. I know that staffing is a serious issue right now; however it can really make or break your business. I really enjoy this location--with one minor critique. In fairness, I frequent many Waterbean locations throughout the city, as I enjoy coffeeshops as coworking spaces. I like this location because it is conveniently located with lots of parking. It's rarely packed but has enough traffic to feel like you're in a coworking space. The coffee is always great, and the food is pretty good as well. The staff are friendly and make an effort to ensure your order is correct. My only critique is that when one particular staff person is working it seems the air conditioning is reduced to an unbearable temperature. I've come to this location enough times (20+ in the past quarter) to know the difference. I can imagine the reason for such a drastic change, but I often notice in the warmer months that people literally go outside because they cannot tolerate the frigid temperature inside the shop. It's minor, I know. But with an order of extra hot (literally, I order extra hot) coffee, a long-sleeve shirt, and a jacket, it is still QUITE frigid (especially in the Fall and Spring). For me, it is a determining factor as to how often I will frequent a place, and after experiencing it so many times, I thought a review might be helpful. read more

March 2021 Hello you . I'm not coffee drinker by any means but went to check out this place out with my good friend. Cute, quaint, and nice place with warm lighting and lots of natural lighting through the windows - good place to do work or hang out. The person at the cash register was friendly and informative and told us about the different options and types (French press, Vietnamese style, and Aeropress) of brewing the coffee. We ended up getting the coffee flight, which is an array of three types of coffee to your choosing. We got the Honduras, Ethiopia, and Guatemala brews. I'm a basic coffee drinker (ice vanilla latte gangggg, when I do drink) so I didn't really know how much I should've appreciated these different types of coffee. I doused that shiii in cream and sugar, so ofc it tasted good in the end haha. If you're a coffee drinker, I definitely recommend you give this place a try. The vibes are well worth it. read more

My daughter loves this place, I am the one paying... so I get to review... We go for morning Milk Tea and boba, which are okay, they sometimes get the order slightly wrong, but never something that leaves us un-happy. The sandwiches are made fresh in front of you, which is nice. Fresh cracked eggs, croissant is sometimes available and spinach and fun stuff like that. The staff is friendly, but appears to be changing often, young kids behind the counter.... consistency is not there with so many changes hands.... The ice cream dipping case looks like... well... like NO ONE is buying ice cream and the ice is taking over... The line moves quick and there is parking straight out front. Maybe just slightly more expensive for what you get... which could be rectified if they made the portions a little larger.. No complaints, and will continue to visit as they are along our commute, but not a place I would go out-of-my way for. read more

Wow! This is a huge upgrade to a coffee shop! Stopped by here while I was in town for work. So glad I stopped by. Their specialty coffee drink is the Volcano. It was awesome. It has layers to it, including a little bit of heat. Also they do coffee and espresso tastings! Seriously who does that??? You need to check them out. A great little coffee find south of Charlotte, about halfway between the airport and Carowinds. I popped in on a Saturday morning with one of my daughters. The place was crowded from an event going on nearby and had a bathroom line stretching across the whole shop. Even with all of that going on, I was able to place my order (a large iced vanilla latte) quickly and find some seating to wait for my drink. The space itself is really cute. Modern without being cold. Little succulents planted in clear glass coffee mugs sitting on the tables. Some kind of hanging plants on the ceilings. The barista team had my drink ready quite quickly, and it was one of the best iced lattes I've had in a long time. Completely smooth, none of the "burnt" taste that you sometimes get, perfect milk-to-espresso ratio with just the right amount of vanilla. Whenever I'm visiting family in nearby Fort Mill, I'll absolutely be stopping by this place again. read more

I LOVE this place. The one word that comes to mind when I come here is consistency! WATERBEAN COFFEE is always consistent. I go here from time to time and order a bacon and salami Sizzlewich; also, a beef bulgogi Sizzlewich! The coffee here is also amazing! The macaroons are good as well. I have yet to try their baked goods, but I'm sure that the pastries are good. I love to support local coffee shops, so I come here a little more than Starbucks. Waterbean Coffee also has a reward point system in play. I believe every swipe is one point. It's just a good place to get a nice cup of coffee or pastries. I remember when this was a Quiznos. So I was fairly surprised to see how much this place has changed. It's pretty cool to see the growth in the steele Creek area include a coffee shop that's not just a Starbuck's. I stopped in for a few macaroons and was pretty taken aback by the many options. Open on Sunday and very busy. This location is in a Business park so you wouldn't expect it to bee too busy on a Sunday afternoon, but it was hopping. They serve teas, specialty coffee, frappicino as well as baked goods and ice cream . The peanut butter and chocolate ice cream was great based on the comments I heard from those in my party. Solid place to get some great coffee. It's not my favorite in Charlotte but it is one that I I like to visit occasionally. I love the fact that they will make drinks that are not listed on the menu...such as my most loved Cortado :) On this visit, however, I went with the classic cappuccino. I ordered the large which has a double shot. The guy working there was super helpful and friendly. I was asking many questions about other menu items for future reference. He even apologized for spilling my coffee the tiniest bit because he bumped into a chair when he was bringing it over to me (see pic) I probably wouldn't have noticed otherwise. Also, I love the little touch of serving their drinks which a few chocolate covered espresso beans. Everything's better with chocolate, right? I want to go back for the Volcano and the Vietnamese coffee. So much coffee, so little time. Update: Tried the Volcano today. It's so pretty you almost don't want to drink it...almost. Great coffee! And I don't know if they've invented it, or if it existed before and was simply off of my radar, but you have to try a Sizzlewich! It's a gringo-ified version Banh Xeo, which is a Vietnamese Crepe/Pancake. Then it's stuffed with lettuce, tomato, and deli meats. They serve it along side a sort of aioli dipping sauce (or you can get it inside of the sizzlewich itself). It's delicious, and gluten free because it's made with rice flour! :) read more

Well today I was looking for a change of scenery for work and decided to see what Waterbean had to offer. I am not sure if this place use to be Sizzlewich or still is and now combined with Waterbean but I only saw Waterbean branding inside. Waterbean offers coffee from all over the world, hot & cold teas, icecream, macaroons, sandwiches and pastries! They offer indoor, outdoor and bar seating. It's the perfect place to make your office for a couple of hours or just for a lunch break. They offer free secured WiFi and outlets are located all over which is a plus for those of us who are working remotely while here. Service: the baristas were nice, greeted me with a smile, and prepared my order quickly! Tea/Ice cream: I started with a scoop of ice cream. I initially wanted two scoops but unfortunately the two flavors I wanted they could not serve because per the barista they were rock hard at the moment. I came in at 145 so by then I would think the icecream would have gotten a bit softer but guess not. Since I wasn't told that in advance nor was there a sign advising of such I had to deduct .5 pts!! I decided to settle for the dulce de leche which she described as vanilla & caramel. It was rich and creamy (once settled) and the scoop was pretty large. The down dial though was at first swallow although delish their flimsily spoon was fighting with the icecream since it still was kind of solid on the top. Unfortunately the spoon lost and I decide to let my icecream sit for a minute while I worked. Later I got the peach tea which is a sweetened tea but not sweet tea.
