If you see a Rolls*, you try looking carefully to see if there is a matching poodle** inside them. Note: Just how delicious the coffee is. Its a very cool hangout... even though its much better to sit on the park bench outside. *Other luxury cars to look for are Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Porsche ** It counts if the dog is a little sized one with a matching colored bow, collar, or booties to owner cars. I think in five minutes I counted 5 Porsche, 1 Ferrari and one Maybeck. None however had pets in them. read more

An abundance of Starbucks gift card credit has compelled me to visit a number of Starbucks lately. This particular location is on the corner of PCH and Goldenrod. I easily found parking on Goldenrod. The place is divided into the store side and the seating area; a patio with four tables is also available. Although the seating area is very spacious, I found the layout awkward. There is a fireplace in the middle of the room, which blocks much of the light from the street. There are a couple of tables by the front window, and then along the side wall, leaving a whole empty wall because a walkway is needed to get to the restroom. Having the fireplace in the center takes up a good amount of space, and adding the easy chairs around it makes the room seem both cramped and wasting space. Outlets are along the table wall, with no access from the fireplace seats or window tables. The store area has plenty of light and some counters to wait at, but no stools or seating. I did not see any outlets available outside, and the wi-fi kept dropping out while I was seated on the patio. Spacious, with plenty of people watching opportunities; however, awkward furniture and seating arrangement place this low on my list. read more

Whenever I find myself in Newport, I make sure to come to this Starbucks. It has warm ambience, and the coffee is great, but I'm always there because the service is 10/10. Monday funday. I'm working today (I often work from coffee shops) and today I chose this Starbucks in corona Del mar. One reason I'm so stoked is that I just found out there's lots of outlets outside on their newly remodeled patio! (Check photos.) I've been here about five times every time I've received consistent service. There's a really nice Asian guy (sorry I don't know your name!) who I'm guessing is the manager or shift supervisor. He's always on top of everything, energetic and friendly. Overall this is a great place to study or relax and read a book. It gets a little bit busy on the inside so that's why I came outside today and there was literally no one on the patio and lots of sunlight. Perfect work environment! Yay. read more

FILTHY DIRTY & LAZY STAFF! I usually love coming into Starbucks and ordering my favorite Chai Tea, but Sunday's jaunt to the Starbucks on PCH in CdM was a disaster. My daughter and I each ordered Iced Caramel Macchiato and requested 3 ice cubes because they usually fill the cup with ice, leaving very little to drink. We got an argument from the barista, who said we could have "light ice." We stood our ground and then waited 20 minutes for our order. The place was empty so there was no reason this should have taken so long. While waiting inside we noticed the floor hadn't been swept, there was stuff all over including pieces of food, papers and spills. The table we were at hadn't been wiped and was dirty and sticky. When we went outside we saw that both trash cans were overflowing with no room for anything else, so there were used cups on tables, napkins, spills etc. It was DISGUSTING! We won't be back. The Starbucks in Fashion Island is 10 minutes away, perfectly clean, friendly staff, quick service and definitely worth the drive! read more

Instead of making it immediately, she made several other drinks and then finally got around to making mine, despite the fact that I placed my order before all those people. Horrible customer service. They're probably hiring from a pool of entitled teenagers and young adults that know little or nothing about working and interacting with the public. After asking a question about food in stock the barista ignored me to continue a conversation she was having with the barista next to her. And then, when she directed me to the supervisor about the inquiry, the manager was just as useless. Dumb as a box of rocks I tell you. Hey Supervisor: figure out whom was working Sunday the 10th of August at 1pm and give them a stern talking to about the importance of customer service. This was by far, THE WORST experience I've had at Starbucks. Typically the baristas are kind and cheerful. Authentic and genuine. This is not the case at this location. The place is always busy with locals and tourist. There are also at least one or two transients at this place squatting full time, bumming off of the free internet. The service baristas are hit or miss, mostly mean and unfriendly. They seemed to be more concerned with their socialization and work environment than serving customers. I went into the place on Sunday at 1PM recently. Ordered Grande coffee, but they did not have half and half at the condiment bar. I went to ask for some and was told that they don't put it out there when it is slow. Well, the place was packed with people, how weird. Andrew at the front was so rude and condescending. I pulled my mask down for face ID for their app and he was very aggressive. Not even for a split second was my mask down. Also he missed my whole order and when I very politely let them know the order was wrong they were standoffish and told me "well it's not on the ticket" they did fix it but not without attitude. The worst Starbucks I've ever been to! Service terribly slow. Ordered a regular coffee and a regular tea after 15 minutes of standing there,, still didn't have my order, then they started it when I asked how much longer. And if this was the first time I'd understand but this has happened numerous times at this Starbucks location. Now, I'm done! Finished with this Starbucks. They close at 7pm during the week, and their parking below their store states it's only for fifteen minutes. When I asked if it was OK to park there longer, I was told they didn't know of any cars being towed and we had to park at our own risk, since the lot wasn't theirs. It's probably not a location I would return to. I worked up until 5 minutes before closing, and I heard one of the employees mumble, "hurry up." When I looked up, it didn't look like it was directed at anyone, but it was definitely loud enough for the remaining two of us customers to hear it. read more

Probably the least consistent starbucks I've ever seen. I've been here several times in the middle of the work day and theyre just always closed. Today I tried to go in, they had a sign that LITERALLY read "Come in We're Open" and there were employees behind the counter. To my suprise they were locked and closed. The one time I went when they were open, they forgot the sweetner for one of the drinks I had ordered. I dont normally leave reviews but my experience motivated me to warn people hahaha. I ended up going to the place down the street, it was nice, highly recommended. read more

Luke warm coffee only two-thirds full. Waited 10 minutes for the pastry that they forgot. When I finally reminded them, there was no hint of "sorry for the wait" or even acknowledgement they had forgotten it. I normally wouldn't waste my time reviewing a Starbucks, because they are at best mediocre, but since coffee choices are very limited in CDM, I felt obligated to recommend Zinc Café just a few blocks away. Came in on April 20, 2016 at 5:40. Asked the person working if I could have a towel to wipe dog hair off chair. She said no, that an attendant was not available to sweep. I explained the chair cushion was covered in dog hair, asked again if I could have something to wipe it down, again was told no.
