As a Peetnik..,...my annual must stop while in Newport Coast. Nice shopping plaza. Peet's has plenty of outdoor seating and a great spot to relax.

Came here recently and had great service. Came here early in the morning (around 7 AM) and there was absolutely no line at all. Walked right up to the counter and placed my order. The order was correct and came out within a few minutes. Very clean inside and outside seating area. Heaters outside were on, which made it more comfortable to sit outside in the early morning with a thick marine layer. I'll definitely return.

Hands down the best drip coffee out of the chain place in OC. Starbucks, Coffee Bean, Pete's etc. Pete's hands down is the best. Once you have it, there is no way you can drink Starbucks again. I love a large medium roast with a splash of heavy. Sometimes I'll go Americano the same way. I also come by for some fresh roasted single origins to take home from time to time as well. This location is full of old white people, so if you're into the CDM crew it will be your spot, there is a Bristol farms and my fav Gulfstream in the same center. I like to drive across PCH and check the Real Estate vibes in CDM for some dream building.

Great store. The Wi-Fi signal covers the seating area.

I left without buying a coffee because although they will sell you a large drink, they won't let you use their bathroom.

This store is closed for remodeling?

I walked by today (Sept 12) and they are beginning to restock the shelves and the lights were on. Should be reopened in a few days, is my guess. It has been closed since end of July.

It's influenced by the San Cabos area of Mexico. So, it's what we're familiar with, only with a lovely twist. I ordered the chicken enchiladas Suiza, and my son got the taco trio. It was some of the BEST Mexican food we'd ever had. Another plus is that it's not on Balboa Island's main drag. So, parking and traffic aren't as much of a hassle. It's also very close to the water. The atmosphere is pleasant, and so is the staff. We couldn't have had a nicer experience. I highly recommend it.

Nice looking spot with plenty of outdoor seating. All the staff we interacted with were very friendly. So why just 3 stars? The food was just eh. If I had more hours in California I would have made up for the lackluster food by making a trip to HB's Tacos Los Cholos. I had the recommended Enchiladas Suizas. When my plate came out I knew immediately it would be just ok. The enchiladas didn't even look saucy. The refried beans looked (and tasted) like canned beans. The rice was very boring. The tinga chicken, somehow, was dry. My wife had the tostada salad. It was like $26 because of the $10 add on of steak. $26 for the most gringo thing on the menu. Best part of it was the steak, the rest will be repressed from my memory. A friend had the taco trio. $19 for 3 tacos and no sides. That's pretty steep. He didn't even finish the 3 tacos. He had the short rib, al pastor and carnitas. None of them looked very good. I had a pinch of his short rib meat. It tasted like grandma's Sunday pot roast. And just like the tinga chicken it was also dry. My wife's strawberry marg was quite good. The beer menu was very basic. Gotta step it up. When the free chips and salsa, and add on steak are the highlights of the dinner you know that the place needs help.

(Does anyone work anymore!? ) The longest I waited was an hour but that was 3 weeks after opening. And I can tell you, as long as you have the time it will be worth it. The overall aesthetic is coastal cowboy meets rustic modern. There is a ton of seating with a great outdoor patio. Parking in the back is pretty slim, so your best bet is street parking. You can either get lucky or park around the block, depending on the day / time. My absolute favorite coffee is the Hawaiian Cowboy. It flavor profile is a nutty tasting honey that's refreshing yet not overly sweet. You can actually taste the espresso without it being too powerful. This coffee is worth the wait. Their other drinks are also good, but this one takes the cake. They have a pretty expansive food menu as well, so it's much more than "just a coffee shop". And you can't forget about their baked goods. O M G. It's from a local bakery (sift bakery) who makes the best non basic treats around.
