Two couples then came in after me and formed a line along the counter behind me. Probably the rudest Starbucks employees I've come across, very cold demeanor. Asked a simple question and felt like I was bothering them. This was the Sunday morning shift. The ones on campus are really long. The one on Campus in the Albertsons plaza? Don't even think about it. You just want to get away from school, enjoy your time, enjoy life. This is the place to go. The parking here is pretty easy. When you're walking in, there aren't too many people, they have the same deals as well. I went in for BOGO Holiday Drinks for their peppermint mocha, and mhm :3 They are even quick to make drinks and they aren't watered down yay :3 There's a restroom on the side, nice music, smooth, relaxing, chill. So I went over to ask DANA who was standing in the corner with a tablet and asked if there was someone else that could help on the other register as it's busy time and people need o get to work; she preceded to say "those people are cashing out" I said "no the other person now has to do their order." She just stared at me, I got back in line and she then preceded to move to where I thought was the register, wrong! It was to move behind the counter, behind a sign so no one could see her! I'm unaware if this is the customer service Starbucks accepts but it's unacceptable and DANA could use a little extra help, along with the couple others that thought is was funny to laugh and make faces about someone asking for help. Amazing staff starts from the top, Jazz is an A++ Manager, so note to Corporate , Alex first lieutenant is first class, Nick moves around like a boxer he's also first class, Michelle, Dave, Drew, James, Ali, Lucas, Jessi, Andrew, tall Alex, and the newby Sam all keep me on my toes work very hard great personalities make me laugh and are the busy bees of this store. Great people all equally important and vital to why I visit this location. There are others too not mentioned that also need a shout out. I've been to other stores in Newport and service doesn't compare. Sorry to say. It's still a great experience but the energy of the staff rain or shine keeps me coming back each morning. Coffee is not rush rush rush mobile order pick up and fly! At least for me it's about the experience in part because of the interaction and being able to try to new flavors especially from the Clover and the delicious flat white they recommended! Honestly it felt like a real Italian latte in Rome! Customer service is so valuable in business today and there hasn't been one time I haven't seen the staff go out of there way to make it better for anyone who wants to complain. I couldn't agree more with the most recent reviewer. I thought I was the only one! Although the atmosphere is always great at this location and it looks as if the staff here is working really hard, it's probably because they're working really hard to fix their screw ups on orders. In the past I would have argued that this was by far the best location to be a customer but now not so much! Customer service and quality of drinks are inconsistent and varies from time of day and whether or not there is a Manager on duty. Even though the Starbucks down the street at the Pavilions shopping center on San Miguel has a the limitation of not being able to order through the Starbucks app, you're in and out in a jiffy because they're fast, efficient, customer service and quality is top notch and the beverages are consistent no matter who is making them. I think I'm long overdue for a review of this Starbucks. I've been going on an almost daily basis since the day they opened. Anyone remember when this location was dreadful Tully's? So Starbucks is Starbucks... Usual selection, good healthy-ish food at a premium price, chain coffee, etc. But this is one of the Clover brew locations. It's not my job to tell you what clover brewed coffee is, it's theirs, so go try a reserve for yourself!! This and the few other Orange County locations with the clover have made me a bit of a Starbucks snob when I'm not in a drive-to-Keans/Portola kind of mood. I've worked in Newport Beach for years and know how the clientele is, ridiculously demanding duck faces and d-bags. And they only get more demanding when it comes to their money or their morning coffee. The baristas handle the DFs and DBs with a good attitude while powering through the line. Five stars for service here. And agave nectar packets. It does get insanely busy on weekends and is usually packed with students, lifestyle bloggers and the regulars camped out so seats aren't usually available.
