Whenever I need a pick-me-up from shopping, I always head to the Ebar and grab a Sparkling Pomegranate Lemonade. So refreshing and perks me right up. Today's service was fast and friendly. Did you know that Nordstrom has their own coffee company? I didn't either. The upscale department store does indeed ethically source and roast their own coffee, and some stores even have cafes serving said coffee. The shops offer fine espresso, tea, and a good selection of light fare. This location at Newport Beach's Fashion Island is located on the 2nd floor, at the back of the store, near the exit to the rest of the mall. The cafe itself has no seating, but there is ample outdoor seating throughout the mall. Unfortunately, I was unable to find an outlet anywhere to charge my phone, so this is not a good place to get work done. Despite the fact that I could not do any work as planned, my Macchiato was exceptional, and the barista was lovely. Upon ordering, she clarified that I would like a real Macchiato, not a caramel covered Starbucks version, and I breathed a sigh of relief. I went to the coffee bar this evening, and I was disgusted by the lack of proper sanitation and handling the cups used for coffee and drinks by all the employees working there this evening. I ordered my coffee drink, and the person at the cashier took a cup, puts his fingers inside a drink cup while he writes on the outside of the cup. Mind you this is a person that takes the money and gives change, and probably washes his hands once every eight hours . He then hands the cup to the other employee who is making the drinks and she put your fingers into the cup as well, as she puts the flavoring into the cup . This is alarming to me being that we're coming off the worst pandemic of all time in America. Have we not learned anything about proper handling and sanitation of food utensils So I was there for a while. This was not a isolated incident, I would miss other drinks being handled with the same type of carelessness How could this possibly be acceptable in the training of the employees by Nordstrom's? read more

I cut down caffeine in my life and decaf option is the only thing I enjoy. And i have learned that it is really really hard to find a cup of decaf americano that doesn't disappoint. Nordstrom's Decaf Debut Espresso served at Ebar is one of a few that is very consistent. Amazing aroma. Service in this location is always good too. read more

There are many coffee joints in Fashion Island but if I really think about it, I'd much prefer to just come here. They always make a perfect decaf americano with sugar-free vanilla and I always get what I want fairly quickly. Plus it's easy access when I'm shopping at Nordy's or more importantly AFTER I've shopped and am now in need for a pick me up. There's nothing like heading out the doors and making a sharp right into the Ebar and then taking the coffee out into the mall...it's super cute right there and it's not uncommon for them to have a performer right there. Despite all the cafes and coffee shops here, this place still draws a good crowd! They have a decent drink selection with some snacks and small food items, though those can run out when it gets busy. Of all the items I've tried here, I'd say the orange pineapple spritzer and the tropical green tea cooler take the top two spots. They're not only refreshing, but also are just different enough that you can't find them at every other cafe in the shopping center. There is plenty of outdoor seating at the tables just outside, but no indoor seating area. read more

Xander and Alex this morning were lovely. My new friend Xander and I both have Mickey tattoos! I mean, what are the odds! I didn't know what I wanted but I described my perfect coffee and he made it for me. I love it. We need more Xander's in the world. Alex was very generous with the cream, and made our drinks perfectly. He was very attentive to my mom, to make sure her coffee was to her exact preferences and asked if she needed anything else. The cream was poured on her own, from a new sanitary espresso shot cup. They are handling COVID very well at this location. Very clean, and even better, very friendly. Good people. I am not really a fan of Starbucks. And when I am wandering about Fashoin Island in the morning, I never seem to feel like going into someplace for a real breakfast, but I do want a cup of coffee and a bagel or muffin. Well, Ebar to the rescue. I prefer machiattos, which are not the blended calorie bombs Starbucks makes, but rather a shot of espresso and a bit of foam. When I get them at that other place, I end up with a wee bit of coffee and a huge amount of milk, even when I ask them to go light. Here, they get it right. A double shot of espresso and a few spoons of foam. Perfect. And the cheese jalapeño bagel with cream cheese is plenty filling as well. read more

The Ebar is a coffee shop that is owned by Nordstrom. This specific one is located in the Fashion Island Mall. The coffee itself is decent but I was not very impressed with it. I believe it's fairly low in quality. It's okay for convenience but they price it the same as a normal coffee shop would and I just don't think it's justifiable. I paid about $4.50 for my vanilla latte. The workers were nice and friendly though. The line wasn't very long and it was quick to get my coffee out. These things I appreciated which allowed me to get my coffee quickly and get back to shopping. Overall, it isn't bad. I would come back again if I was at Nordstrom and I needed my coffee fix. However, I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. read more

I came into this little place inside Nordstrom for a quick coffee during a busy time. The line was out the door, but it moved quickly. The cashier was efficient and nice; she took our order correctly and quickly. My coffee was made correctly to my specifications, except the whole thing was more than a little bland :-( Tip: If you're primary objective is to get a caffeine fix, it's probably a good idea to order an extra shot or two. read more

I am slowly starting to not like Starbucks & that's okay because the E-Bar at Nordstroms is better anyhow... I left the following review on the Starbucks Yelp- "I get a simple english breakfast tea latte and somehow this location always seems to mess it up. Usually they give me Earl Grey instead of English Breakfast on accident, I never ever want Earl Grey. It's gross. They are two very different teas. One time I asked a barista to re-make my latte because it was watery. He told me "for the record, milk is watery" when handing me my remade drink. Foamed milk is not watery. It's definitely thicker. I only seem picky because I used to work at Starbucks. I know how easy it is to make a tea latte and how to do it right. It's just frustrating how they can mess up such an easy order. I've taken my business to the e-bar at Nordstorms. They have yet to mess up my order, the lines and waits are shorter and on the plus side + they are cheaper." read more

I love the E-Bar. I work a few doors down and every time I go in there, they are ALL very friendly and VERY upbeat.

The e-bar is run by a group of unprofessional employees who care more about flirting and fooling around with the clientele than they do about taking care of business. Tried to complain about the service to "Manager" Matthew but he was rude, uncaring, and unhelpful. Obvious this attitude is condoned from the top as my calls to District manager Reina were not returned. I highly recommend you stick with Starbucks!! read more
