    Ultimate Brekkie Bowl

Can't go wrong with Blk Dot coffee! The Vietnamese coffee is smooth but still strong and chai latte is one of the best I've had. Friendly service and lots of seating indoors and outside. My husband and I love to share the brekkie bowl after a morning hike, it's delicious!

Upscale coffee shop in Newport Coast - stopped by with friends to meet an old mentor yesterday morning for brunch. I ordered a matcha latte and a fiesta bowl ($21.78 before tip) and enjoyed both. We sat indoors as the outside tables were occupied and caught up on life, health and the secret to happiness. The parking lot was quite full. The good citizens of Orange County had driven over in their finest automobiles on this fine Sunday morning. Among the Bentleys and Lamborghinis I spotted my favorite - a powder blue Porsche 1956 convertible 356 Speedster - and I smiled! Will be back!

If you're in the Crystal Cove area and in need of a caffeine boost, this place has great drinks especially if you're into Vietnamese coffee. Blk Dot has a few locations in OC but this is one of the nicest ones being in the Crystal Cove shopping center right along PCH with the ocean just across the way. On a weekday morning it was quiet and my order was ready right away. They're known for Vietnamese coffee, but they have other coffee and tea drinks too. I had their Yuzu Mango Matcha Latte ($7.95/large) and it was very refreshing. I could taste the citrus yuzu and it had the right amount of sweetness. It was perfect with whole milk but you can also sub for other milks. They have some tables inside as well as outside. It's a nice spot to grab coffee with a friend or do some work.

As a self proclaimed matcha enthusiast this matcha is pretty great. I drink a LOT of matcha and if you enjoy the flavor of actual matcha, not just the syrup... this is a good one for you. I've now tried both the Iced Original Matcha and the Iced Yuzu Mango Matcha. Both have a great flavor profile. Hallelujah a drink that doesn't taste like melted ice cream.

Stopped to have my favorite Vietnamese coffee at Blk Dot coffee in Newport Beach. . Today I tried the light were was perfect. Not to sweet! And we had the matcha latte. Both were delicious. They had a steady flow of customers coming in, but it wasn't so crazy of a wait time. If you're looking to stroll the area I recommend trying their coffee if you haven't already. I highly recommend! .

I've been going to Blk Dot for years and they have a bunch of locations in SoCal, but this is one of my fave Blk Dot locations and just coffee spots in general. View is gorgeous. I love getting the VTM with sea salt foam on top (would recommend that if it's your first time), otherwise they have other good viet coffee options and seasonal options as well. The VTMatcha and Pumpkin creme latte (seasonal) are also good drinks to get! Service is always good

YUMMMM Ordered a Yuzu Mango Matcha Latte, Ultimate Brekkie Bowl, and the Breakfast Sausage Bowl. I really enjoyed my breakfast! I absolutely adored my matcha latte! I couldn't taste the yuzu as much (I could taste acidity but it wasn't prominently yuzu), but I looooved the flavor of the mango with the matcha. A delicious drink! The breakfast bowls were yummy and hearty. The egg frittata in the bowl was SO good. I wanted more! Between the two bowls, I preferred the Ultimate Brekkie Bowl because I thought the bacon had better flavor compared to the sausage. Overall, I'd totally eat here again!

Coffee 4/5 We ordered the Spanish Latte and Vietnamese Iced Coffee, and both were pretty good. We were told the Vietnamese Iced Coffee was a popular choice, so we decided to try something new. It wasn't bad, but it was a bit stronger than I personally prefer. Overall, the coffee was good and definitely worth trying! Food 3/5 We ordered a jalapeño bagel with sausage, egg, and cheese, along with a breakfast bowl. The food was okay, but I was definitely more of a fan of the coffee. The coffee stood out much more than the breakfast items. Customer Service 5/5 Customer service was amazing! The cashier was super friendly and patient. I really appreciate when you walk into a place not knowing exactly what to order, and the staff takes the time to offer friendly suggestions without making you feel rushed or pressured. It made the whole experience so enjoyable! Ambience 5/5 I love that this coffee shop is so close to the beach--it's the perfect spot to relax with a cup of coffee and enjoy the view. The location is absolutely beautiful and feels both nice and safe. A great place to unwind! Cleanliness 5/5 Really clean !

Everyone loved their drinks! It was just really busy on a Sunday and took a bit to get drinks. Worth it though for the price Good option for coffee here.

This is located in the Crystal Cove shopping center. It was a very busy Sunday. Parking was challenging to find, but managed to spot a space after 10 minutes. Wanted a picker up for a late afternoon after having lunch. Decided to come here. Our cashier was really knowledgeable recommending different drinks for our taste. Very nice with great customer service. I ended up with Iced Thai Tea settle sweet drink perfect for my drive home. Service was quick and got my drinks in minutes. Environment had good vibes! Their food menu looked delicious, but just had lunch on a full stomach. Definitely next time will check it out!

Took a weekend drive to enjoy the beach and decided to grab a latte before the sun and sand. Thank goodness for BLK dot. I actually went back after the beach as it was so delicious and wanted one more for the road. I will be back without searching elsewhere in the Newport area.

Delicious coffees and teas. A lot of Asian Inspired drinks. I wish they had more locations. Hopefully one day they can expand out into the Inland empire area and not just beach cities. I also purchased one of their shirts, on the back it says "Sleep is overrated".

THEIR MANGO YUZU MATCHA IS SO GOOOODD! Love the seating and vibe too. I'd definitely recommend to order it with almond or oat milk since my friend said it got a bit too milky with regular milk that it detracted from the matcha flavor.

    Unshaken Thai tea.

When I visited on Tuesday, I was welcomed with Tay's friendly smile. She now knows my drink order by heart. Megan and Sean also made a point to say hi to me and have a brief conversation. They always make me feel like they are happy to see me! This trip my Chai tasted off and when I brought it to Tay, she asked questions and offered to make a new one with a smile. The barista, Luke, even came out to ask questions with a friendly attitude. He recognized me and my order from previous visits and went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my beverage. He asked questions and was very proactive. Once he made my new beverage, he delivered it to me and made sure I enjoyed it, which I did. The Poke Bowl I had for lunch was delicious! It is super refreshing during the warmer days and the sauce as a nice kick to it. I always recommend Parakeet all the time to my friends and others, and they always enjoy their experience.

Parking can be a little tricky depending on the day because of street sweeping, so keep that in mind. The café offers both indoor and outdoor seating, which is a nice option. It can get pretty busy inside since it's counter-service and the dining area is on the smaller side. The food was delicious, reasonably priced, and the service was friendly with smiles all around. There were three of us in our party--my mother, my grandson, and me. My mother ordered the grilled chicken sandwich, I had the California breakfast burrito, and my grandson ordered the Rose Benedict with the hollandaise sauce on the side. The portions were fair and satisfying, leaving everyone happy with their meal. If you're in the Corona del Mar area and looking for a quick breakfast, brunch, or snack, I definitely recommend giving Rose Café & Bakery a try. This past Sunday, I came in with my daughter, who was really craving a steak. She ordered it medium, but it came out a little more well-done than expected. What impressed me most wasn't the mistake, but how it was handled. Our server, Jenny, was attentive, thoughtful, and genuinely cared about our experience. We never asked for the steak to be removed from the bill, but Jenny and the manager took the initiative to make it right and comped it because it didn't meet their standards. That level of customer service is becoming rare, and it really stood out. My burger was absolutely delicious, the rest of the food was excellent, and Jenny even brought my tea in a to-go cup without me having to ask. I started with the Singe Germain, made with Monkey 47 Gin, St. Germain, crème de cassis, and lemon juice. This was easily one of the best cocktails I have ever had. It was so good that I ordered two more. My wife got the Rizière de Lychee, which seemed like their take on a lychee martini. The vanilla notes made it unique and really enjoyable, but we both agreed that the Singe Germain was the star cocktail of the night. One of our favorite appetizers at any restaurant is yellowtail crudo or hamachi, and Marché Moderne's version was incredible. The fish practically melted in our mouths, but the mango-yuzu-jalapeño sorbet on top was ridiculous. That sorbet could honestly be served as its own dish. Our only complaint was how quickly the whole thing disappeared. We also tried the grilled octopus petit plat. It leaned more Spanish than French to me, especially with the chorizo, and the potatoes and chorizo ended up being our favorite parts. We both tend to prefer cold appetizers over hot ones, so next time we will probably try the tataki instead, but the octopus was still very good. We ordered the bread as well. Despite all the reviews praising it, I thought it was good, but not necessarily life-changing. The real star was the butter with the big flakes of salt on top. For our mains, my wife ordered the Hokkaido scallops and I got the filet au poivre, essentially their steak frites. The steak frites was incredible. The sauce alone was enough reason to order the entire dish. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare, and the tableside presentation made it feel even more special. They first placed down the fries and salad, then brought over the steak in the sauce, transferred it onto the plate, and poured the sauce over the top. They asked whether I wanted sauce over the fries too, which was obviously an immediate yes. The fries were good, although I thought they could have used a little more salt. The salad surprised me the most. I originally assumed it was just there to fill out the plate, but the vinaigrette was fantastic and made it something I actually wanted to keep eating. My wife loved the scallops, which was not surprising because she is a huge scallop fan. The dish itself was somewhat bare, though. It was essentially a few scallops with sauce, so if we had not also been sharing the steak frites and several appetizers, I do not think it would have been enough for her as an entrée by itself. Lastly, we ordered the crème brûlée, and this might have been the best dish of the entire night. It came with berries and a hazelnut cake underneath. Because we were celebrating our anniversary, they wrote "Happy 5 Year Anniversary" in chocolate ganache next to it, which paired ridiculously well with the crème brûlée. That little detail also perfectly summarizes the service. Our server answered every question I had about the menu, asked what we were celebrating, recommended the incredible Singe Germain, and made us feel completely at home. Another gentleman came by to talk with us, and we casually mentioned that it was our fifth anniversary. They did not just remember that it was an anniversary. They remembered that it was five years and included that specific detail on our dessert plate. That extra bit of thoughtfulness meant a lot to us. My only small disappointment was the seating. I had heard that one side of the restaurant has a large window where you can watch the chefs cook, but we were seated closer to the bar and could not see it. It did not hurt the meal, but next time I would love to request a table on the kitchen side. My wife and I have eaten at Michelin-starred restaurants from California to New York City, including everything from one to three stars, and Marché Moderne has the makings of something truly special. The food was excellent, but the service and hospitality took the entire experience to another level. Overall, this was about a 4.7 out of 5 for us. We will absolutely be back, and I cannot believe it took us five years to finally come here.
