Nope... I'm out. Two out of two visits that were annoying and pretentious. The whole point of this Starbucks is to feature their Reserve coffees; however, each time I have chosen to patronize this location, no one knows what reserve coffee is available, or I pick the one they ran out of... they have these handy cards up at the register that describe Jamaica Blue, or Brazilian beans that sound delectable, but those aren't available and the paper list to pick specific beans is inaccurate too. I've never ran into any huge issues at any Starbucks I've come across, a few times where food items weren't available when I've ordered ahead, but they're always willing to work with me and get me something to replace it. This location has never been my favorite, but for reasons that aren't in their control (not always easy to get to if you're coming from the wrong direction, and usually pretty crowded). I also wish they'd put up the mobile pick-up parking stations like many of the others have since theres now a 1-person limit inside, but their speed and courtesy equals any of the Starbucks I've been to. Now, normally I only like to rate each place individually, but today I'd like to sing the praises of Starbucks online support for a moment. My birthday is on Christmas. This is important because almost Starbucks (all the ones in my area anyway) are closed. Well, Starbucks' reward system gives you a free drink on your birthday, to be used ONLY the 24-hrs of your birthday. Starting to see the issue here? I can't very well take advantage of an offer when there's nothing opened. So, I contacted the customer service via support ticket connected to my email (I say support ticket so you know it was already connected to my account and they could see all that easily.) I sent this email on Christmas, when no one would be working. The automated response is that it'll be some many days, I want to say it was around a week? Before things are resolved. THE NEXT DAY, I get an email saying they added an additional 24-hrs to my birthday reward. I was honestly expecting a handful of free stars maybe with an apology for their automated system and that would be the end of it. But I got my entirely free item (which I sued on a delicious Mocha Cookie Crumble Frapp), paid $3 for some Bantam Bagels and had a pretty fantastic morning. Moral here, if you don't like Starbucks for their loads of sugar and sweets, then that's a taste thing and I hope you find someplace that caters to you, but if you've had service issues at a Starbucks, I guarantee you it gets better. I've never had a bad barista, I've never even gotten my drinks mixed up. Sure, my name is spelled wrong all the time, but the company as a whole has such good support and training and they just treat everyone so well. Worst experience EVER! I would give 0 starts If I could. We waited for 30 minutes for 2 drinks! And one of them is just a house brew coming out of the coffee machine directly. So 30 minutes for just 1 drink!! And the house brew I got had a lid didn't fit. The sleeve came off while I was waiting because the hot temperature melted the glue. When I tried to put on another sleeve the lid just fell off and the whole cup spilled. I burnt my hands and there was coffee on me everywhere. Now came to the worst of all -- the girl worked there had this attitude like it was my fault. Can't believe there's a Starbucks Reserve Bar in Cupertino. No need to go to Seattle and fly all the way there, just to enjoy a cup of freshly brewed Starbucks Reserve coffee. I was so thrilled just to find out we have one here and it's close to where I live. It's in this lovely corner location but the place gets busy from time to time. I love how nicer interior design and decors for Starbucks Reserve Bar is, comparing to the regular Starbucks. You can order the regular Starbucks or you can order the Reserve Starbucks. Only ordering Iced Drinks for Starbucks Reserve will get you the fancy plastic recyclable cups. So, we order Rose Honey Latte (M $5.50) and Vanilla Creme Macchiato (L), both drinks are very thick, creamy and it was very well-mixed and delicious. If they couldve put a lot less heavy cream, it wouldve been great. We get way too full from the drinks we order, like it was way too much to drink and finish the whole entire cups. My girlfriend even having bad stomachache acting up, latose intolerance I guess! My only complaint is there are limited seating and gets really packed, so my friend and I had to sit on those teeny tiny small chairs (looks like we are squatting or something). I was drawn to visiting this Starbucks more for the Reserve cup than trying the Reserve drinks. I ordered the Vanilla Creme Anglaise Macchiato and would give it a 3/5. It is not as strong as the caramel macchiato in my opinion. This macchiato as a hint of lemon and cinnamon in it, which takes some getting use to. The workers here seem more more friendly and professional compared to the regular starbucks stores. Even though this place is spacious, there are limited tables to work/study on. My situation: Came in on a Friday early afternoon, wanted to find a place to sit with outlets and free wifi. I'm surprised to find there are such low ratings for this reserve location. This is the main Starbucks I go to and the service has always been superb and the staff genuine and nice. They pretty much always get my order right and even when they get it wrong, they fix it without delay. I've been to a lot of reserve locations (used to live in Seattle) and the service here is on par with the Seattle locations and even their roastery. If you know about how they operate their reserve locations, they only hire the best of the best, and employees must first work at a general Starbucks location and essentially are often"recommended" to a reserve location, so the reserve employees transfer from across the state to come to the reserve/roastery location in Seattle. read more

I wanted to get one of the breakfast sandwiches that wasn't available at my usual Starbucks, so I ordered it for pickup here. Good: The staff was quick and my order was ready for pickup when I arrived. They have taped off distances for the line and they move you in a u-shape through the entrance and exit of the store. Bad They only take Starbucks gift cards or something weird like that. I had to get a $25 card on an under $25 order. It was super weird. One of the breakfast sandwiches was thrown in the bag in parts instead of as a whole sandwich. This particular store had a lot of egg and not as much cheese/bacon as I'm used to. read more

When I first saw a Starbucks Reserve store and logo a few years back I knew I was going a fan of the concept. I mean how can you not resist everything "R". I admit I'm biased with my name but even without all the cool R's this has got to be my favorite Starbuck's in the Bay Area no question. I don't know if any of you have been to the reserve roastery in Seattle if not it's a must visit. This place is like a mini mini roastery with many upgrades over a normal Starbuck's. Now as some of you know I've been a little peeved at S-bucks in the past for pulling out their clover machines in some of their stores in lieu of a basic pour over. This is IMO just not in the same league, especially when they are using a plastic filter thingy and rush poor the water into a cup. It just sucks! Well i'm in the process of downgrading my Yelp stars and putting them onto places like this. First off they have 5 different brew methods to brew your coffee. Did you read that right? Yes 5! Where else are you going to get this amount of offerings at any coffee store . Clover, Press, Siphon, Chemex, and a slow poring correctly done Pour Over. Of all of those I do recommend the siphon by far. or The siphon method is supposedly an old German method of heating the water in glass container and then after it boils the water sucks up to the top chamber where you then put the coffee and mix it up for a few minutes and then you run off the flame and the grounds stay on top and the coffee goes back into the glass bulb. This is really the artisan way to make coffee. No push buttons or computers. And the taste is so well rounded and strong. I got the Jamaican Blue Mountain and it was the best tasting blue mountain I've ever had. So many subtle flavors and superlatives I could go on and on. If you like more smooth and light tasting coffee I recommend the chemex. It's like a upgraded pour over and it tends to make the coffee less intense probably because it filters out every grain of the coffee but the steep in slowly so it still has great flavor. Besides for the great coffee this place is so fun to hang out. The lighting and decor of this place is super cool and chill. They always play really food music in the background. The chairs are super comfy lounge style with cool wood tables looks like they were hand made from a wood maker. A whole bar area where you can watch all the different brewing techniques take place. The staff here are very educational. They take their job seriously and know all the nuances of the coffees and brewing methods. They of course have all the regular drinks we all know well at a regular Starbuck's. But this location since it's designated R has a lot more reserve blends to choose from. They even a decaf reserve which I've never seen anywhere else. They also have 3 offerings of cold brew, regular, nitro, and a reserve cold brew on tap. You can get a 32 oz fill from your growler you purchase for $19.95 and then refill them for $12. They look so cool but be careful as they are made of glass and one slip of the fingers and we'll....you can guess. They also have at certain times on Wednesday's a guy who goes around to have you sample some of of their reserves and different brew processes. I tried one time their sun dried Bolivia kustillo java and wow it was awesome. I've never know the sun-dried beans take on a slight banana flavor and it was strong tasting but also smooth. If you like gourmet coffee you will love the choices here. As mentioned also sell glassware for your cold brew beverages. Not just growlers but different glasses that are very classy with the R logo. I know I'm biased but still:). They look like beer glasses so I was all over getting some. Never can get enough containers to hold your different brews:) Like the reserve concept and logo and so glad they have one near me. Love this Starbucks! I always use my Starbucks apps to place my order when leaving DeAnza college. It is always ready a little after I arrive. SUper convenient and great location. I love the way this Starbucks looks as well! When you pull up the exterior is a very nice wood which is not common for most Starbucks. Inside the restrooms are always clean and there is a long bar where student and everyone else can use their laptops and do whatever they need to do. What a great makeover to this older smaller Starbucks. They took over Noah's bagels next door, and made a very large and stylish Starbucks Reserve out of it. It really looks great! I really didn't understand how to order a Reserve coffee, but it's quite easy. First, you choose from the Reserve coffees that they have for that day. I chose a Hawaiian one. Then you choose the method you want it brewed. This is where the hard decision comes in. Naturally, since this was my first time choosing, I chose the coolest method, the Siphon. This is more like a chemistry experiment, but ultra cool. They boil the water on a pseudo bunsen burner up through a filter to filter impurities out of the water. They then add coffee grounds to that water and let brew. Once it's brewed, they remove it from the heat and the water then flows down through a filter to the bottom glass holder. The end result? A pretty good tasting cup of coffee. Would I get it again? I doubt it as it was $12 for this process which took the Barista about 15 minutes to complete, only working on mine. It completely filtered the coffee and it was quite smooth, but hey, I think I'll try one of the other brews next time. The interior is really modern and nice. There is more sitting / chatting area than working area, which I think is good. I actually had a few conversations with other people sitting around me at the bar. It's the equivalent of going to a bar for alcohol, with the exception that you get a caffeine buzz and not an alcohol buzz! read more

It must have been converted back to a standard Starbucks recently, because the reserve fixtures and shadows leftover from the Reserve signage are still present. The staff is pleasant but the store upkeep leaves a bit to be desired. If you're looking for your regular SBUX caffeine fix, this place will do, but if you've come looking for the Reserve experience and menu, prepare to be disappointed. read more

Definitely attentive making sure we were hydrated and all with water! She was able to even ring us up for additional drinks since we weren't caffeinated enough. We were going to get back in line too, but the experience is being at the reserve bar. - The store is very nicely remodeled and homey feel. It's very clean and modern. - Loved the environment/atmosphere and the iced to-go cups. (That's why I had to order another drink to-go). I'm that Starbucks fanatic. Haha! - Menu is diverse with new nitro cascara cloud, nitro dirty chai, and house affogato. - Reserve bar with reserve coffee, what more do you want?! This store is filthy- tables are dirty, floors unswept, dust and cobwebs by window ledges, poor dying plant (and this is all on an 8am visit Sunday morning.) Staff was friendly and service was quick however the ham and cheese croissant we received was cold so they had to make a new one. I have a love-hate relationship with the Starbucks franchises. They're typically really inconsistent from place to place but this location is a good one. I've had the best service and best drinks here out of all the other locations in the Sunnyvale/Cupertino area. The baristas are attentive, friendly and definitely keep the quality and cleanliness up. This is great! I love how we now have a Reserve store in the area! I do like Redwood City's a bit better BUT I don't have to drive far anymore. This Starbucks got a whole new makeup. From the bottom to the top, every part of the store is new and renovated. It draws lots of attention to nearby tech jobs and the whole community. Surprise surprise....... I had no idea it was a fancy schmancy Starbucks! Didn't even know there was such a thing until now. I'm not a cool kid lol. I asked for a small blonde roast. No frills, just needed coffee. I paid the normal $2.40 but it came in a kids sized cup smaller than my iPhone. The place is hipsterish with the long coffee bar seating, industrial look, minimal tables (4) and wooden seating. There is an outlet on the ceiling and 4 in the middle of the floor. If there are more, I didn't find them. Make sure you're powered up if you need to do any type of work. There is a woman's restroom with two stalls and I suppose the same with the men's which is now a plus compared to the 1 gender neutral rooms at most locations. No more waiting in a long line since you can go in and out four times faster here. An eclectic mix of age and ethnicity here. If there were more outlets and comfortable seating, I would give it 5 stars. But overalls, it's nice! read more
