I come here only because it's right down the street from the house and I walk the dog there but they take forever to make your drink! The drive in is constantly slow and backed up because of their slow service and when you go inside the employees don't acknowledge you're there and take forever to take your order. The times I order iced drinks they like to up the ice so full in your cup they the coffee is like a teaspoon and then all ice. Like where is my drink? I didn't order a cup of ice!! I have to say this is one of my favorite coffee places. I love the fraps and the actual coffee itself. Delicious if you add a blueberry scone! The people who work at this starbucks specifically are so delightful and have never been rude once, and Ive been there everyday for two years. They've even lowered my prices because Im such a frequent customer. And trust me, I've been irritating and bossy this year but all the workers do is smile. Religiously on a daily basis I stop here for the same order. To a point where they know me by name and my order. Today was disappointing. Did a mobile order and walked in to I will assume newer staff or just weekend staff. Stood by the mobile order and no one acknowledged me. Granted they were busier then normal. I was not satisfied with my drink. I ordered an iced matcha green tea with coconut milk. When I received it, the drink was light green with dark green patches, clearly not shaken/stirred completely. I tried mixing it before drinking it but even after I still gulped a chunk of powder. I'm not saying lessen the amount of powder because that will make the drink even more water downed, maybe shake the drink better (not in the cup that is being served). Also please wipe down the top of the rim before putting the lid on, half of my drink dripped onto my pants while drinking it, and now I have green stains. read more

3 stars although I HAVE had burnt coffee here. The service is fast, and it's perfect if you want to do the whole drive through thing. Parking isn't hard, although sometimes during dinner/lunch hour it's crowded b/c of 44 sports lounge and biryani house. As a STUDY place, I usually avoid here. It's a really small place and they got tiny circular tables. They do have big circle tables but they are in the middle of the place right next to the line where everybody is talking/bumping into you/not paying attention. Plus, it's HELLA dark. Most starbucks are but this one makes you sleepy. I think that this place should re-arrange their furniture so it's not as awkward and can handle more people. My current passion is an iced green tea latte substitute almond milk, an extra scoop of matcha and three pumps of Sugar free vanilla syrup. Then I add 2 packs of stevia to make it pure heaven. Update 1/12/08 I have to take away a star for this place. Lately the drive through has been like molasses and the employees have an attitude. Most of them act like they're too cool to be working there. The guy today didn't say a word to me, just held out his hand to take my money, standing sideways without making eye contact so that his cool ass didn't have to acknowledge my un-cool ass presence. I'm a regular to this Starbucks location because it's in my neighborhood. I could go to the other one on San Pablo Ave. in Hercules but they close a lot earlier than this location. Most of the workers have been here for quite some time. A few of them could use some counseling on working harder and less chatting between themselves like many of the other reviewers talk about. One person always gets my drink wrong but the others make up for her lack of expertise. Many times it doesn't feel like a Starbucks but more of a neighborhood coffee shop without the breakfast menu. I say this because most of the people who work here grew up in this area and know the regulars who also have been living here for quite some time. So I can always count on seeing someone I know when I go (which is often). I like how the remodel turned out. But not too crazy about the wooden chairs. They are so slick that you feel like you're going to slide out of it. The late afternoon/evening crew is much nicer than the early morning weekday crew. read more

Caught a coffee craving on my way to work (for which I was more than a few minutes late :-0), I decided to take the hit, and smash thru my AM fueled with a venti iced QUAD caramel macchiato. I turn into the drive thru and it is PACKED! Having been thru this fiasco before, I contemplated throwing my car in reverse and getting the deuce up out of there before someone pulled in behind me... then decided, eh, screw it. I'll use the time to catch up on my Words with Friends. Much to my surprise, I got through the line in record time. I patronize this Starbucks 3-4 weekly. I always get the same thing. Depending on who is preparing the drink it's always different. Grande Carmel "cream base" Frap, heavy (not extra) Carmel top, bottom and around cup. When I arrived today I placed the same order like I have for over 1 yr and I got regular drizzle Carmel. When I informed the barista she said that's not heavy...? Mmmm did you just question me? She then went an made me a new while talking to the barista who initially made it...sarcasm, rude and no tact. Wow! I thought you get to pay for what you order...she handed me my new order while saying we tried our best and don't normally put Carmel on the cup...what are you talking about? Staff was friendly and quick to process the many customers ahead of me in line. Iced black coffee is hard to mess up and they did just fine.

If I could I would give them zero stars. Stopped by to buy two boxes of coffee for our club event. The one star is no one in line. The counter person was rude and so was one of the baristas. The younger girls were working the window and tHeir customer service was excellent, per my observation. These young girls need to give lessons to the other 2 people handling the inside. I have gone to quite a few Starbucks, but this particular one always has friendly baristas. They are always willing to assist you and they acknowledge you upon walking in the door. It can be a little busy (reason for 4 stars instead of 5) but considering they are right off the freeway and in a busy shopping center, one can't complain. I would rather wait in line to receive their service then go somewhere and deal with someone behind the counter who has a chip (and I don't Java Chip either) on their shoulder because of a bad day. This Starbucks has got to have the worst customer service I've ever seen at a Starbucks. We went in on a Sunday morning bought 1 breakfast sandwich, 1 pastry, 1 coffee and 1 soy latte. Not a tough order! There wasn't a large crowd of people here at 7am on a Sunday morning, maybe 3 customers sitting outside enjoying their drinks and about 4 cars in the drive thru. In between their conversation they managed to make my latte 7 mins later, and I was the only one in the store at this point. Ladies maybe work on making your drinks more promptly for customers who get out of their car and come into the store, stop the side chat- I want my coffee and I want to go! smile more and clean your Starbucks up a bit- there were boxes everywhere. LOVE this Starbucks! I am a little biased because my son started working there recently ;-) but that is also how I found out that this is THE busiest Starbucks in the Region. I know it can take long in the drive thru but I hope customers understand that the workers have no control over what people order. So if someone comes through and gets 4 breakfast sandwiches along with their drinks they have to heat up all those sandwiches (a couple minutes for each one!) There isn't any excuse for ignoring customers inside so I understand frustration with that. Laura is an awesome manager and works hard to keep this store strong! I gave 4 instead of 5 because of the long wait in the drive thru but not sure if that can be helped simply because of the location and busyness this may not change. The drive thru workers are trying to do their best to meet the time limit set on them for each car so they may not take time to chit chat - may seem unfriendly. Did you know there is a 'timer' inside that keeps track of how long it takes and beeps or turns red when the time is up! Being on the other side of customers, my advice is, try to be friendly and give your local worker a smile. They may be working a 50-hr week too. =) read more

Predictable two-star experience. I can't imagine how these girls keep churning out "the experience" customer after customer for a non-livable wage. Third star for that. The store is clean and spacious and smells as it should. My dark roast was a 4 on a 1 to 10 scale, weak, no body. My breakfast sandwich was fast food quality as are all their heat and serve items. But you already know all this. It's a Starbucks. Fourth star for opening at 0430 for us night shift workers. read more
