I was once a frequent Starbuck coffee drinker but when my viente Americano went from $2 to $4.45, I gave it up. I have a gift card so I've gone through this Starbucks location a couple of times this week and either my taste buds have changed drastically or the coffee is watered down because it does not taste like the strong cup of brew I once bought. I know staff can't do anything about prices going up but making a good cup of coffee at the prices they are charging is not asking for a lot. You expect certain things at a coffee house, like hot coffee and tasty treats. In 2022, you also expect electrical outlets. But at the Highland Plaza Starbucks they are all covered with metal plates. One barista said it's because of COVID. Another said it's because of transients and "we're working on it." BS. I bet if I go in there next week it will be the same situation. I shook my head and left without ordering. It's just as well because I was seated at one of the few comfortable chairs in the place and speakers were mounted directly above blaring loud music. This Starbucks I really like how clean it is on the inside and how fully stocked their condiment bar area is. Their staff is also very nice & helpful. There are a few things I don't like. On their drive thru menu they don't have complete listing of their drinks. Inside the way they divide up the work on the weekends when it's busy it doesn't work. You will literally get your drinks at 2 different times. During the week there is not that many people inside. My siblings and I went in to pick up some mobile ordered drinks from this location and upon walking in it was a shit show. Multiple people hovered around the pick up counter, one lady also asked about her drinks saying she was waiting for almost 30 minutes. I am now sitting here almost 40 minutes later: i had to ask them to make a drink i was missing and was given major attitude from it, I'm still waiting for 2 drinks, and when I asked about the drinks, the manager was the one I had the pleasure talking to and she said "yea. we have a lot of tickets" and rolled her eyes. I work in customer service, I get it. But there's no need to give attitude to your customers when you're the one behind on your job. Maybe hire better staff or get a better manager. read more

But what's the point of having these Pinterest drinks, and trying something for the first time, if the baristas get upset at you for having expectations.... for example I ordered a "grande iced pumpkin spice vanilla latte" and got a "iced pumpkin latte". I come to this Starbucks a lot. I'm sitting here after ordering a breakfast sandwich to go with coffee. Another lady comes in and it's obvious that she's well loved by the entire store staff. She gets her coffee and two different sandwiches and after hugs and kisses leaves. I'm still waiting on my sandwich. When I ask about it the lady working the cash register, Miranda, simply says " sorry", and it'll be right up. The girl who served me my drink today was irritated because I told her that I'm there for a mobile pick up. She indicated that for future reference pointing to the counter where they serve the mobile pick up that's where I'm going to find my drink. Very condescending and annoyed. This girl should not work in places that she interacts with people. This Starbucks has a subpar service they don't even know how to make a proper iced green tea matcha. Awful experience truly. I placed a mobile order about 10 minutes before arriving. One of my drinks was ready and Stephanie continued to make the other one and left it on a counter for about 5 minutes. I was with my boyfriend and we stood waiting for someone to ask what name our order was for or anything. No body talked to us so we had to tell them we had food and that drink on the counter was ours as well. She said there are signs on the door as if I could see their front door from the intercom. She refused to take my order until I compiled. In this hot weather with massive lines for drive thru these workers are being careless and taking their sweet time to avoid taking orders, I've been sitting in the drive thru and came up to the window because I am getting no type of service through the menu speakers. The workers can clearly see us through the window and refuse to take my order or at least tell us that they are not open! Finally another Starbucks not as close to the freeway. Love this location, it's literally up the street from my moms house and close to Walmart supercenter. I can just grab groceries and coffee on the go. There's enough parking. It's big inside and not crammed. They have plenty of seating. The employees are always nice. I always order pumpkin bread and it's good. The drive thru is quick. They close an hr earlier than the baseline one. I think. I'm glad they opened here. It's perfect. read more

The Starbucks on Highland and bolder needs a little help The employee's lack customer service skills and a good work attitude. I stood there for what seemed like forever, waiting for somebody to take my order while the manager looked at me 2 or 3 employees looked at me and said nothing to stared at me as they walked on by. They've had a change in staff every time I'm there. Rudest customer service here. Hector always messes up drinks like he is even capable of being a barista here. He is rude and never says anything or apologize for screwing up a simple drink. Other barista here charge to add heavy cream even tho no other Starbucks charge from here to L.A. Poor customer service! Staff are extremely rude! There were like 5 of them and none of them acknowledged our presence. Totally ignored us. We are the only customer inside so i do not understand why everybody seems to be busy that we were totally ignored. Typical Starbucks set up but they really struggled to get our drink order right. Place was quiet inside but steady at the drivethru. Overall, they had more than enough staff to get things done. We bought a coffee and a tea and it took several tries at the register AND at the counter to get them right. I've never had to correct a barista repeatedly like this. Ordering a double espresso and a hot tea shouldn't be that complicated. At one point they gave me someone else's coffee instead of my tea and that customer said she'd been waiting 15 min. On top of it all, servers were less than welcoming. How does a fully staffed Bucks mess up like this? Maybe it was a bad morning for them? Based on this, if we lived here, this would NOT be our regular caffeine stop. As a side note..... whoever designed their ADA accessible bathroom needs to check the door. It's way, way too heavy for someone with disabilities to handle. ADA law says doors with this amount of pressure require an electronic door opener. read more

The quality of the products is getting worse and worse. Today I ordered two grande hot chocolates for my daughter and I. When I got home and took them out of the carrier, I noticed they seemed unusually light in weight. I took the lids off the cups, and both cups were only half full with hot chocolate. Neither cup had been drank out of yet. I might as well have ordered a small, because that's the amount of product I just received.
