Not sure if there were a ton of new hires on today, but I ordered my usual, an iced what chocolate mocha.. but today it was only a little more than half way full and the rest of the Space was filled up by whip cream..it was also just OVERLY sweet, as if the amount of syrup was doubled! I love this starbucks. Its great having the drive-thru at this location since I go to the dog park, (central bark) right down the street off of sand canyon. Its really great when I have my dogs with me and I want a caffine fix. The staff is very polite and they always get my order right in the drive-thru. Oh and they usually always have my favorite blueberry oat bars, along with my usual ice white mocha that I get. read more

Want a fly to go with that order? Ewwww ... based on the sanitation issues in the patio dining area of this Starbucks, you won't have a choice. The trash can is overflowing ... and though we alerted the staff and later spoke with the store manager, it turns out they don't consider it their job to keep the exterior trash can dumped. (Though they are well aware of what they indicated is a persistent problem.) Instead, they wait for the Irvine Company, which manages their property, to handle outside trash. Good idea in theory, not so great in practice. Trust us, for two-plus hours we watched as that trash can grew higher and more foreboding-looking, what with the preponderance of flies buzzing about. Like we said, Ewwww! Several people who took seats in the patio opted not to order food -- after spying the garbage just a few feet away. As for the coffee ... it was, fine. As long as you keep the lid on when you're in the presence of that infested garbage! read more

SLOWEST DRIVE THRU EVER. I have been through it like 3 times thinking maybe it was just a weirdly busy time but every time it's just as bad. Last time there were like 3 cars in front of me in the drive through and the inside didn't look especially busy (Sunday morning) and it took me TWENTY minutes to get through. What is the point of driving through if you have to sit in your car for 20 minutes? I looked in the window when I was waiting for my coffee and the baristas were moving at a snail's pace. I'm pretty sure I could make people's coffee faster without training. I only gave it two stars because the food and drink I received were fine. I won't be going there again. read more

This used to be my go-to Starbucks when I was going to IVC or lived around the area. They have a friendly staff during the mornings but sometimes they can get very lazy. I don't have much to say about this branch other than if you need your coffee fix then go for it. The inside is clean and the drive thru can get very busy so pick your hours wisely! read more

I have been a loyal customer of starbucks for years , I literally have the oat meal everyday , this location is in close proximity to a lot of offices in the irvine area , I would think a company as massive as starbucks will get in more staff in the morning to handle the traffic, the wait times are from 20 - 25 mins just to get a cup of coffee. My experience on thursday left me so disappointed, am done with starbucks. I drove by for the usual , oatmeal , juice , lemon cake & a sausage breakfast at 6.40 , I finally got to the window at about 7 .00 am , I was handed 2 coffee cups on a coffee holder with everything else on the holder , I told the lady I didn't order any coffee , just 2 oat meals , 2 orange juice and sausage breakfast, she said its not coffee its your oak meal . She said we don't have bags ,bowls or spoons, and she literally dismissed me . I had to toss the oat meal because i couldn't use my hands of course. Your customers are the reason for your business . Treat them with respect and kindness . A company as huge as starbucks ran out of spoons and bowls . Really ..... at 6-7 am in the morning , really .....Sad . read more

This Starbucks is convenient but they are truly incompetent & SLOW relative to the rest of the Starbucks out there. They have gotten the order wrong multiple times, are veeeerrrrry slow, and they even made my child's hot chocolate way too hot, even though I asked them not to make it too hot. read more

My husband and I went here on the way home from Orange County. He has a new found love of Peppermint White Mocha's. I ordered a strawberry smoothie and he ordered a peppermint white mocha. Since his was hot he wasn't able to drink it until we were several miles down on the highway. Poor guy they messed up his order. He tasted flan in his drink but what it came down to is they gave him a peppermint white hot chocolate. Total bummer we will not return to this Starbucks. :( The service was slow as well. Sorry to say, that I only go to this location because of the drive-thru. Because they disappoint me 90% of the time. They need to do something about their ordering system. Fix the screen panel where you order, or confirm the order at the window!!! Time and time again, I get the wrong order! This time, I asked for a Caramel Macchiato and a Cappuccino. No confirmation of the order, but a measly, "your total will be at the window". Did I get my total at the window? NO. The guy just took out the hand scanner, when he saw I had my app on my cell. He proceeded to give me a Caramel Macchiato and a Caramel Frappucino...seriously?!? I said, "I didn't order that, I ordered a CAPPUCCINO". He apologized, and proceeded to make the drink himself at another barista station. When he finished and handed me the drink, I asked for a wood stick stirrer. He looked around his station and said, "Sorry, we are out of them" Really?! Can you not walk a few feet away to look somewhere else? I left in disgust... When I came home, I gave my husband his coffee and he said, "I don't know what that is, but that's NOT A CAPPUCCINO It's got caramel in it" Are you freaking kidding me?!?! Grrrr.... This store is definitely a hit or miss. The reason why I said this is because it all depends who is working at the register and making the drinks. I noticed many times my drinks not being made how it should be. Instead of apologizing the shift supervisor or manager, Asian person wearing glasses would just make the drink. EXCUSE ME first you apologize and then make the drink. What kind of customer service is that, especially coming from someone who works in management? If there was a closer location to my school I would go there. There are some baristas who really have great customer service, but majority of them are just concerned about making your drink without giving that Starbucks guest experience. I'm being nice to rate them at 3 because honestly it should be more a 2. How about you work on customer service by talking to the guests, thanking them for coming here, and doing your job by making drinks? This place messed up my drink already more than 5 times. I had to e-mail Starbucks corporate about it as a result they gave me a credit and apologized on behalf of this store. Came here on Thursday night to get some studying done. There were 3 workers working, and they had two of their friends sitting by where customers pick up their coffee, talking, and taking forever to get the orders ready. The workers were giggling and shouting across the counter to talk to each other. I understand people come to Starbucks to study and socialize as well, but a lot of people at the store were studying or on their laptop at the time. The workers at least should be mindful of the customers in the store. Everyone in the store kept looking at the workers and their friends because of the noise, and eventually left the place. People could not hear if their orders were ready or not because of all the talking and laughing. Just came here to concentrate with a cup of coffee, but this place only distracted me from studying with loud and unprofessional workers. Please train the workers to be more professional. read more

I travel a lot (within the United States and internationally) and this is by far the worst Starbucks location that I have ever been to. This location has always been terrible (filthy and with rude employees) as far back as I can remember. The drive through line moves at a snail's pace (occasionally I have seen people, so determined to avoid the rudeness on the inside of the store that they actually walk through the drive through!) and the pace inside is just as bad. The customer service is second to none in its fail. This location recently got a new manager, Natalia, who I have to say is really super nice but who definitely has her work cut out for her, trying to shape this location up and bring it up to standard. What I have noticed is that while Natalia is in the store, all the employees appear to have improved, acknowledge and greet customers in a pleasant manner and the store is clean but when Natalia is not there, some of the employees revert back to the old rudeness and couldn't care attitude and the store is less than clean. Case in point, this morning - my pre-ordered drink never arrived and when I asked one of the Baristas (who said her name was Kenzie) where I pick my order up from, she basically ignored me. I waited a little while and asked again and was told that someone took my drink and that she would make a new one. When I got the new drink, it was not what I ordered according to what Kenzie read back to me from the tab. I asked for my money back since I had run out of time and that was when Mike got involved. He proceeded to speak to me in such a loud voice that I felt as though the entire store heard; very embarrassing. He refused to give me a refund but later on, I called corporate and got my refund however I still feel that I must write to forewarn others. I have resisted writing a review for this location for quite a while for a number of reasons. First, I love Starbucks but secondly, when I found out that there was a new manager, trying to make some serious change, I really wanted to give her a chance and for a while things got better but again, when the manager is there, this is a great Starbucks location but when she is not... I come to Starbucks pretty much everyday and let's just say I work it in to my monthly budget. However, after this morning I probably won't be back to this Starbucks. I came in just yesterday at around 8:45 in the morning and got my trienta or however you spell it green tea refilled for 50¢ and I was in and out. Then this morning I come to get it refilled and the kid tells me no bc I wasn't sitting inside. I explained to him that I was just there yesterday and bought a new one on my lunch break (which I did) and they did it for me the next morning. He said no I have to buy the full priced one bc I didn't get the original in the same visit. In all the years I've been going to Starbucks I've never been told this. Not a huge deal considering the drink is 3$ but it's just the customer service gesture would've been move and it also would've been nice not to take 5 minutes at the drive thru debating w him.
