This is my favorite Starbucks. I live near one a mile from my house, but I come all the way here for store, the people and the ambience. It's my favorite!

To the entire Starbucks staff on Sunday 03/16 at around 10:00AM-10:15AM. We wanted to say THANK YOU so much for the incredible kindness you gave us when we were at your drive through. Your kindness made a huge difference on a very difficult last day with our sweet pup Cashew. He loved the pup cup and had an amazing day. Cashew passed away later that day peacefully at home surrounded by everyone who loved him. We will never forget the kindness you showed us on a very emotional day.

Amazing worker, Karla, only straight worker that can make drinks. The place is next to helix which I don't like because it's crowded and closes too early, but i like the seating and the ambiance when there is no school.

Hooray for the puppaccino! Thanks SO much to the Starbucks team for making me, my mom, and my fur baby happy! This location's drive-thru service is always very fast, and they accurately complete our order. While the parking lot is huge and has disabled parking, the actual door is quite a bit away - just be prepared for a little stroll. This location's area/lot gets quite busy around 2:30pm because the high school kids are leaving school, and parents are picking them up here (or on the side street or accross the street). Enjoy!

Nice Starbucks location in La Mesa! Air conditioning was fantastic. High ceilings. Healthy amount of indoor and outdoor seating. Employees were mostly friendly and efficient. Easy parking. Drinks were delicious!

Bad service, bad experience A person I was meeting with for a business transaction picked the7350 University Avenue LA Mesa CA store. It was not busy. The MALE cashier, name tag Luis, told me to wait. None of the women in the store acknowledged me. Then a rude young man came up behind me cut in front of me and ordered. Luis the cashier needed to take my order first as I was looking in the refrigerator case waiting. Both men were callous when I'm next in line, " you need to take my order 1st, I've been waiting", he ignored me and continued to help the rude man who insulted me and kept siding with the wrong employee behavior. I did NOT get "Latte" trained response. The two men are obviously men who disrespected women and roll their eyes, and act in a condescending manner. I have been with Starbucks since inception, I picked and created the FEMALE logo so woman could have a place to go for coffee (other than male McDonalds,Male named Carl's Jr, male Burger King. A place women who created & financed & it only franchised using MY federal cross country franchise license. It's designed for women to own, Operate, manage, be employed and be treated well with kindness As customers. Very disappointing service & negative experience today. Luis didn't apologize, in fact he made me wait more than a reasonable amount time for a slice of pumpkin bread to go straight from the case (prebaggec) yo be handed to me. I picked a grab and go item, vs something that I had to wait to be made. If I didn't keep asking for it in between each new customer order. I'd probably still be waiting for it. No "LATTE" for me. And as for the pumpkin loaf, it's a bit oily. Too many calories It should be reformulated, I'd recreate vegan. As well as the lemon loaf & other items as people with all plant-based diets are on the increase and Starbucks needs to change with the forward movement of the health conscious consumer. I won't purchase from this location again. Bad service, rude customer demographics, undesirable area. I left worse off after visiting this store.

Took my son Tobin to Starbies today, weren't too happy with the result. We ordered AND paid extra for a summer skies drink with the max scoops of boba which was exactly 12. The drink was 20 dollars so I was expecting the full 12 scoops of boba considering the cost difference. Unfortunately we sat in the Starbucks waiting for the barista and carefully watched her only put about 5 scoops in our drink. You can see this below. I'm very dissatisfied considering this drink was 13 more dollars than originally listed. I feel as if I'm at a loss of money not well spent.

This is a fairly new Starbucks right on University as you are leaving La Mesa heading into the Rolando area. Although I did not use the drive thru, it has one. I hung out for a bit enjoying my grande cappuccino. Unfortunately, they did not fill the cup properly or all the way. Also, for some reason the cappuccino was on the very light side and missing that robust espresso flavor. I think it just needed more coffee and less steamed milk. The young staff members were friendly enough and were not much for conversation, even after I said thank you. This location offers inside and outside seating.

I was on my way to church and needed an early cup and was surprised how many shops were not open at 7 AM. I'm sure I could have found a Starbucks but that's always reserved for a last resort. Big props to this spot being open early on a Sunday morning, so I could make it to church prayed up and fully caffeinated. The barista opened right on time (7 AM) I loved how friendly she was for it being that early, and she got me my drink within 3-4 minutes. I am not a big coffee drive-thru guy, but if I lived in the area, especially knowing it is veteran owned, I might become one. Thanks guys and best of luck!

The la mesa latte was super yummy and while I'm not the biggest fan of cold foam on lattes this one was pleasantly good! I had also gotten a bagel with cream cheese which I don't believe was toasted and would say that was the only downside but the delicious amount of cream cheese definitely helped.

So far, I've tried the pandan, the brown sugar, and the sesame latte all iced w/ oat milk and they've all been a hit. The pandan is easily my fave, but if you're trying the brown sugar and don't love super sweet drinks I'd recommend adding an extra shot to balance it out. The drinks are consistently good and you can tell they really care about the quality. It's one of those spots you keep thinking about and end up going back to without even planning it. Customer service was solid and there's plenty of seating, which makes it a nice place to hang out or get some work done. Parking was also easy, which is always a win. The staff has been consistently friendly, and the girls working there were genuinely so sweet and welcoming both times I visited. On my second visit, I even met the owner and her adorable son, which just added to the warm, community feel of the place. Now the best part...the food and drinks. They have a huge selection of pastries, and everything I've tried has been delicious. On my first visit, I had a pastry with ham, cheese, and egg, and it was seriously amazing, the egg was perfectly runny, and it still held up well even after being warmed up. The second time, we tried the meat pie pastry (which reminded us of dumpling filling in the best way) and a jam and cream cheese danish, both were excellent. Their drinks are just as impressive. I've personally tried the Crème Brûlée Cloudfee and the Coconut Cloudfee, and both were incredible. A friend also had the Purple (Ube) Cloudfee and absolutely loved it. They also offer a variety of other drinks, pastries, and Banh Mi sandwiches, which I'm definitely planning to try next. Overall, this place has everything: great drinks, delicious pastries, a comfortable vibe, and genuinely kind people. This will definitely be my new go-to spot for Vietnamese coffee.

It can get pretty busy so come early to prep. Seating: Chill plenty of seating both inside and outside. Good for small groups with room for about 30 people. Vibes: Welcome to Normal Heights nothing too flashy, just plenty of local eateries and businesses. The spot itself is relatively clean, modern, pretentious. I dig the 90s house music in the background. This seems to be a trusted neighborly coffee shop with students are working, friends are catching up, and regulars seem to know the staff by name. It helps there's a pizza shop next door as well. FOOD / DRINKS Cherie Amour (Recommend) Delish. A latte with housemade cherry and almond syrup, and if you get it iced, it comes topped with a little cold foam. I dig the sweetness and the fruitiness of the cherry, it balanced out the bitterness of the coffee which was pretty cool. CUSTOMER SERVICE Friendly and welcoming. Sara helped contribute to the neighborhood feel of the place and made the experience easy and enjoyable. TL;DR OVERALL 4.5 Stars. Good coffee, reasonable prices, and a pleasant atmosphere. I know there are plenty of coffeeshops in SD but this is a cool neighborly one. It doesnt seem like a trendy place but a place more in community and steady service. Till next time, Scrimshaw! They are connected with the business (Love Letters Pizza) next door with an arched wall. The interior has changed, they now have new seating and they painted the walls different color. The tables are a little wonky, but I appreciate the fake marble top they got on it. It looks classy from a far with the interior lighting. I sadly missed their May Special, Blueberry Malt Latte! I love anything malt, so sad it is already gone (it's June now lol). They dropped their summer specials on their Instagram and the first one looked incredible. This was their version of an Aussie classic, they call it "Mont Blanc." It consisted of cold brew with orange syrup, topped with a vanilla-orange cold foam, finished with grated orange zest and nutmeg. I would never order this again, personally. I usually love vanilla orange in my coffee/espresso drinks, however this one really missed the mark for me. The orange tasted too forward and slightly bitter. Even the first sip from the lid, I knew I wouldn't be able to drink this down (I don't like wasting drinks or money). I offered it to my mom, who usually enjoys this sort of flavor profile as well, and it was a huge miss. She couldn't drink it either (nor could my brother who also ordered the same one as me). Within 10 min of driving with it, it had separated and looked very unappealing. Next time, I would maybe request their tangerine cold foam on a regular iced latte. I finally love citrus with my drinks-- maybe this one would be more up my alley. Or wait another month for different specials. Since it's been a while, I would love to come in the day time-- we came around 5:33 pm ! They close at 6pm which is pretty cool since most coffee shops close at 2-3 pm. The workers were very kind and welcoming despite us coming near closing time & the music was very nice. They have a handful of interior seating and outside seating as well! Despite the one drink being terrible, I wouldn't write them off for that -- they have a large menu and lots more for us to try! Come swing by!
