Constantly a huge wait until you finally get drinks made wrong. Staff doesn't care. One of the worst starbucks I been to.

Never again! I typically go to the Starbucks on Main because it's by my office, but have gone through the drive thru here twice when I've had an early meeting to get to. Both times I've gone through the drive thru, they've done a horrible job on the drinks I order. When I asked for a Nonfat Chai Tea Latte with no water, and watched them pour water into the drink, that's unacceptable. When I asked for an iced passion tea, I expected that they would shake it like they do everywhere else. I watched them put the Splenda in the bottom of the cup, add the tea and water on top, and pour a little ice in. The "iced" tea had no ice and was tepid when I got to the office. Nasty! Wonder how I was able to watch? Because by the time I got to the drive thru window, they hadn't started my drinks yet. They should have a much more streamlined way of doing things. Either move the speaker where you order further away from the window, or hire better, more efficient staff! People shouldn't be waiting for their order at the window, the drinks should be done when you pull up. The drinks are always ready at any other Starbucks I've gone to. I figured that Starbucks as a company would hire the most competent staff for a drive thru. Guess I was wrong! I'll take the extra time to walk from my office to the one on Main, where they know my order, are friendly, and make my drinks perfectly every time! I'll make sure to leave earlier on my meeting days, just so I don't have to deal with the Starbucks that's closest to my house. read more

Not only are they the absolute slowest Starbucks that I've ever been to, the person working the drive thru window has bad customer service skills. Plus they messed up my order, probably because they ask what you want then don't listen to your response because they're too busy messing around and laughing at someone in the background. read more

I still prefer going to the Starbucks on Center. I have visited this location many times and they still make crummy drinks. I think they're trained by Safeway Starbucks employees. Drivethru gets packed during the morning commute, but that's typical for any Starbucks. Also every time I go I usually use a MPD hanging out on break, so I feel safe going inside haha! read more

I hate to give a bad review but the past couple times I've gone through the drive thru, the guy helping me (tall guy) never says a single word. He hands me my drink, my card, my straw, all with his back turned (LITERALLY. He never turns around and looks at you. He just swings his arm behind him to hand you things) Never says hello or acknowledges that you are a person. Literally the worst customer service I've had at a Starbucks. This is my favorite Starbucks in my town. They are super friendly and quick, even when it's really busy. I come here a couple times a week and go through drive thru and its always quick. I also come here on weekends and do work on my laptop and its a great atmosphere. The employees are great with customers and with each other. read more

I rarely have a negative thing to say about Starbucks. I love the coffee and the atmosphere and have been an avid SB fan for a long time. I live within a block of this location so imagine my excitement knowing it would be so close to my home. My excitement has diminished over the last 2 years. This location has really gone downhill because attitude reflects leadership, and the attitudes here are awful! Management leaves a lot to be desired, and is quite obvious why the employees are the way they are. I will gladly drive the extra 3 miles to the Center Street location any day of the week and twice on Sunday to avoid the sour faces and crappy attitudes of this location! You can do better than this, Starbucks! UPDATE: Here we are, five months later, and nothing has changed. It's nice that they have a drive-thru, but this is the worst Starbucks in the area. They seem to enjoy adding flavor syrups to my orders despite my requests for a plain coffee or latte. That syrup makes the coffee undrinkable to me, and it seems the teenagers working here think they're doing favors by adding unwanted syrup. As a person who drinks black coffee, I can tell you that theirs is not brewed well. Nob Hill Starbucks has the pro baristas whereas this location everyone seems inexperienced and prone to adding tons of sweetener to mask the sub-par brew. read more

I usually avoid this place at all costs. The few times I've been there I've had really bad experiences. Yesterday I was in the area and I didn't want to go to the one in Nob Hill since it is always super crowded. I ordered and proceeded to go the window where the person who took my payment didn't even greet me (being in the customer business myself, sometimes we get those rude customers that don't say a word and I usually don't say one either). I said "hello", he didn't say A WORD. I got my credit card back and said "thank you", he didn't say A WORD. He handed me my drink without saying A WORD. Never going to this place again, if you are in the Martinez area, I would recommend going to their North Main location, in the Martinez downtown. read more

I have noticed a big improvement. Six months ago, I would have said that this place was one of the worst Starbucks I've ever been to. However about 3 months ago I decided to give them another try and there was quite a change. Seems like they have hired some employees that take pride in their work and want to please the customer. There is even one girl that sometimes tells silly jokes while you wait. I'm not saying that the place is perfect. There are still a few employees that need to take lessons in customer service but they are definitely getting better. The parking situation is still bad and they still need some sort of warning system when pedestrians are crossing the exit of the drive thru lane. read more

Went thru the drive thru ordered a Venti Green Tea. Got to the window and was handed an extra large cup 3/4 full, I looked at it and said why isn't it full. The lady said we are out of Venti cups this was the next size up. So why dont you fill the cup up with at least more ice so stupid will not be back. It's nice to finally have a drive-thru Starbucks in Martinez. I went here the first week they opened. I was in the drive-thru line, which was moving pretty slow, and when I got to the window I was handed the wrong drink. The girl at the window was very nice and apologized, and then she handed me a voucher for a free drink on my next visit. They were extremely rude and both the lady that paid ahead of me and myself waited for over 20 mins to get our drinks and bagels. Meanwhile all the people that came after us came and went and 30 mins later we get our bagels and drinks. Went through drive-thru & ordered 3 kids' hot chocolate, a coffee for myself and 3 bagels. The employee immediately became rude with me, over the speaker, when he realized my order. When I pulled up to the window the employee who took my order was complaining about how tired he was of all these large orders (it's 8 a.m. in the morning, Christmas month!!!!) The rest of the employees began complaining about how much they've been working, how busy they have been and how tired they are! The employees at this Starbucks have never been friendly (a smile would be nice), but today was pretty bad! Really, really rude!!! I love Starbucks. But the reason I gave it two stars is because this location is entirely too slow. I have used the drive thru a few times and at a MINIMUM I'm in line for about 25 mins. So today, I decided to walk inside and I still waited about 20 minutes for my items. I feel that I have to wake up extra extra extra early before work just to get a grande soy vanilla latte. The person at the drive through was not paying attention to what I ordered. I asked for a venti caramel frapp with a lot of caramel. What I received was not what I asked for. I received a grande caramel frap with hardly any caramel. They were laughing and not paying attention. Three girls in the span of 30 seconds touched my cup. Honestly this is the worst Starbucks I have ever been to. I have been a gold member since 2015 and go to Starbucks everyday unfortunately this one is in the same plaza as my work I recently moved to. I keep telling myself that I refuse to come here because it literally takes 20 Plus minutes to get a single drink. I don't understand why they are not organized here. I am writing this review after 15 minutes of waiting and them tell me there is 6 more drinks in front of mine. Now that's ridiculous going to be waiting 10 more minutes. It's been my 3rd time problem with this Starbucks coffee. I ordered 2 java chip frappuccino today and the same problem again sometimes they forget to keep chocolate chip and sometimes sugar syrup they always have unexperienced employees. This location is sort of hit or miss. As with most starbucks locations their coffee is always burnt, so no bueno there. Also no matter what time of day you come there is a drive-thru line and parking is wretched... ALWAYS! The staff is pretty friendly, mostly, just don't ask for secret menu items. This Starbucks is terrible. The service is very slow!! Very Slow. This is the Second time I ordered ice tea and got a cup full of ice with very little tea for a lot of money. This time when I told them I wanted more tea and showed them all the ice in the cup they charged me .50 for a refill. What a joke!!! Service is all around great if you go in. The drive-thru however is slow as hell. I would just go inside. It will save you at least 5-10 minutes.
