Never thought I would be reviewing a Starbucks, but I had to mention this one. Went here a few nights ago. In front of the store the seats were crowded. I expected a wait inside. Instead, the service was fast and friendly. I ordered only a water and a cookie. The person I went with ordered a coffee and said it was very good. The next morning, I realized I had left my planner behind. When I asked about it, I had barely gotten the question out to the barista when she said, "Yes." They always seem to mess up my order. Example, I specifically asked for a hot drink but got the iced version today. Usually the baristas are pretty nice here though, and I know it's a busy location. They recently remodeled and added a bunch of desks and seats, as this is a popular location for students to come, but they removed all the comfy armchairs that used to be here. There is not really a place to sit comfortably like there used to be. It's an ideal location if you have a laptop with you, but it is not the place for sitting back and relaxing. read more

I like this location. They don't get 5 stars but really not their fault. First they are not very big. Getting a seat can be hard. They are very busy especially the drive thru. The parking can be crazy due to other businesses and a bank ATM drive thru. But the people are nice. They work very fast. You never see them screwing around or being lazy. I've been a Starbucks gold member for years and always rave about the great service from Starbucks. Unfortunately, this store at 2832 North Power Road, Mesa, AZ 85215 1609 does not represent the exceptional customer service I've been accustomed to. First of all the hours on the mobile app are incorrect. The store closes at 9:30 on Sat night, the app shows the store is open until 10:30pm. I made a mobile order at 9:50 pm Sat night, Nov 18, 2017 for $32.79 and paid for it via the app. When I showed up at the store to pickup the order me and the other 6 people in my car were shocked to see the lights out and the store locked up tight. Coincidentally, the sign on the front door ALSO showed that the store was open until 10:30 PM on Saturday nights. Not much I could do at that point, so we ended up going to another Starbucks. We were driving out of town and would be on the road until 2am - a caffeine fix was critical! When I called the Starbucks at 2832 North Power Road, Mesa, AZ, this morning I asked to speak to the manager. The woman who answered the phone assured me she was the manager. AFTER I explained my problem, the woman told me she needed to get the manager! That REALLY made me angry - this person straight up lied to me. The real manager ended calling me back. He blamed the construction workers (they just had a remodel) for the incorrect hours on the front door sign. He blamed the regional manager for the incorrect hours on the app. And he blamed the employee's deception (that SHE was the manager) on her being a new employee. So apparently, they don't expect their new employees to be honest. The manager did credit me for the $32.79 order that I paid for but couldn't pickup because they were closed. He then asked if there's anything else he could do for me. I explained that after all those problems w/the order and the deceptive service, I felt that while my husband thought the $32.79 credit was sufficient, I expected something else. But wasn't sure what that would be. The manager simply said ok and told me to have a good day. By the way, the store at 1003 North Dobson Road stayed open late to be sure we got our order before leaving town. read more

This is my regular coffee shop because it is so close to the house. The staff that of been there the longest are wonderful. Always friendly, remembering your name and very helpful, chatty, funny makes going there peasant. When you get a trainee it's very difficult to deal with them. Your order is usually wrong but they're having a hard time because they are learning, eventually they get it. read more

I'm such a fan of Starbucks and this is the one closest to my house. It's terrible. The wait times are extra long, at least 10 minutes and often 20 or more in the mornings. I would also estimate 1 out of every 5 of my drinks have been wrong, usually adding sweetener to an unsweetened order. I hate to admit, I still go frequently but not if I'm leaving the neighborhood and have another store to choose on my way. Double check your drinks and budget plenty of time into your stop and you should be ok. If not, it's a very frustrating location, save your time. read more

I have been going to this Starbucks (2832 N Power Rd #101, Mesa, AZ 85215) for the past 9 years that I have lived in the area. Every single time I order a dark roast "pour over" (because they never have the dark roast that I like brewed), they continually lie to me and say its a pour over, but I can taste the difference. I can also tell that it is not the dark roast that I asked for. I give up. The customer service used to be great, however, now the employees are rude, unfriendly, and disrespectful to me, their customer. They have a wonderful, easy job and I find it funny that it seems to be so difficult for them to get an order right and to be friendly...two basic things when running a business. I will be submitting a formal letter of complaint to the corporate head quarters. I will no longer return to this location and will not recommend it to friends, family, or as a social influencer. read more

Thought I should make use of another buy one get one free coupon for myself & my son. We chose another location because previously when using the same coupon at a different location for the 1st time we had received a difficult time. I was leary about using the same type of coupon again but needed an afternoon pick me up. We went through the drive through and I made sure to mention the coupon, it was like night and day. Meagan whose smile you could hear through the speaker was a breath of fresh air. She said "no problem", we got our order quick without any issues. Meagan was super sweet and even my son commented on how nice she was. and made it a point to say thank you and goodbye to her. My son suggested that I should meantion her on Yelp, so here I am. This is the only Starbucks that I can take my dog to and not get a Puppachino which is one of the things that makes Starbucks so attractive. I LOVE Starbuck's and I LOVE the people at this location HOWEVER, the service is always so incredibly slow. Last weekend I waited in line (inside) for 28 minutes for my drink and spinach feta wrap. That is a long time. A few weeks prior I waited for 35 minutes in the drive thru. If there were no cars behind me I would have backed out. BUT....My food and beverages are always good. read more

I generally get the same thing every time, iced chai tea latte, because it's just that amazing. But I wait all year round for anything pumpkin flavored. Ordered a vanilla frap and A caramel frap and scone and pound cake. 10 min for the 1st frap and another 10 for the 2d the had to wait in line to go and see where the pastries are. terrible. This review is based on my visit on August 1st, 2015. I really love this location. The staff are friendly and efficient, even on a Saturday morning. I ordered a Caramel Frappuccino, which tasted great, though I do wish they would have put more caramel on top! Why does everyone like Starbucks? Its always busy and It's overly priced, overrated coffee. I only stop by here if I forget to make my blend the night before and if I am going to school/work and I'm too tired to function. Well I stopped by here around 9 am and the drive thru was super packed (of course) so I went inside. I looked around, only saw a couple of people so I thought everything was going to be all good. Well I ordered an iced coffee, nothing too complicated, the guy asked me my name so I told him. A few minutes later the guy was calling out Sarah a bunch of times and I looked around and I was the only female in there. I just assumed this Sarah girl had left early. Well 20 freakin minutes later I still didn't have my coffee so I went up to the front and asked the dude where my coffee was. He said he was calling my name a bunch of times but I didn't come up to get my coffee. My name is Callie, like California. Not Sarah. I don't know how he managed that to mess up. When I finally did get my coffee, it tasted like crap. Circle k has better coffee than this. I'm going to stick to making my own brew, saves me some more cash anyway. read more

Been coming here for over 11 years sometimes daily. 99% of the time my order is right if things go wrong it is usually a trainee and that is going to happen. Store is clean and self service condiment (cream and sugar) is clean and stocked 95% of the time. The store floor and seating areas about the same. The front porch is nice but could use more seating some days. The music is to loud and especially if your on the phone, but I have noticed this at every Starbucks I have been to, and this is in every state! I like some of the new pastry or baked goods but I miss some of the old stuff, tgat is all Starbucks too. Got to know several of the workers as they pass through. Some get better jobs and some get promoted or transfer but they seem to always keep a solid crew. Never had a problem with Drive through when I use it and they usually have doggie biscuits for our Dogs! Tip folks, they deserve and need it! Patio is Doggie friendly and Bike rider friendly. read more
