The Starbucks on the second floor of the Hyatt Regency New Orleans is exactly what you need it to be, especially in a convention hotel setting. Located inside a busy conference property, this location gets a steady stream of walk-in traffic throughout the day. Mornings in particular can get crowded, but the line tends to move efficiently and the staff works hard to keep things organized. I do appreciate that this location accepts mobile ordering, but the timing estimates can be way off. It doesn't seem like the app accounts for the volume of walk-up orders being processed at the same time. On Wednesday, I placed a mobile order at 7:10am for two lattes and two breakfast sandwiches, with a pickup time of about 7:20am. The sandwiches were ready, but not the drinks. You would think the two lattes would be made back-to-back by the same barista, but that was not the case. The first latte came out around 7:30. When the second drink still hadn't appeared, I checked in and was told it was being worked on. Everything was finally ready at 7:40. That's a 20-minute gap between the promised time and reality, which matters when you're trying to get to a conference session. Lesson learned. If you're in a hurry, stick with drip coffee and skip the lattes. You'll be in and out a lot faster. read more

Found this Starbucks inside the hotel I was staying at. They were really fast and my lavender matcha was so good. This location was really clean and I enjoyed the cute decor. It was actually fairly big to be located inside a hotel. The employees were kind and helpful. I tried to visit again during my stay but on Saturday they closed at 3 p.m. I thought that was a bit early, but I understand this hotel has lots of evening events so they might not stay open during those times. read more

Here visiting from out of town, and thought it would be like any other starbucks. I mobile ordered plenty ahead of time thinking it would be ready to go quickly. They took approximately 25 minutes to even start my order. My friends took over 30 and we were late to an event we were scheduled to go to. While I understand there are a decent amount of people, there were also about 6 people behind the bar - and half of them were on their phone. I asked to have my 1/2 & 1/2 steamed -- something I've done in Starbucks across these entire United States -- coast to coast, and Hawaii. I Need cream not to make my tea lukewarm warm. Here they wanted to charge me. Make my cost double. When questioned I was offered a Tea Latte (up charge) for something that is otherwise FREE. I am having to pay for cream for my tea . the drink is amazing. I got an iced coffee with my rewards October 13th at 9:15 am. However the lady who took my order was very confused. I told her I wanted to redeem my reward for an iced coffee and i also wanted to add in an espresso shot because I also had enough for that as well. she said I don't know how to do that and we can't do that here because it's a licensed store not a corporate store. Every Starbucks store is able to rewards so she needs additional training on how to accept different rewards on one transaction. I am from Texas and at the location I usually go to, I am able to redeem 5 rewards in one transaction. I know damn well she could have don't that for me as well. I've been patronizing this Starbucks every now and then ever since they opened. Working on the "northwest" end of the CBD near the main post office, I am only a block from the Hyatt, and often find myself cutting through the buildings on my way to Poydras Street. Every time I do, I often stop at this full service Starbucks located inside the Hyatt. As far as food and coffee goes, this place isn't any different from any stand-alone locations. However, it has a fairly large seating area and free wi-fi. Couple that with an endless stream of tourists in the Hyatt, this place is the perfect spot to sit & people watch. (If you're into that sort of thing). Since I usually cruise through here on my limited lunch break, I never take advantage of the seating or wifi. However, if I had the time or if I was a guest at the Hyatt, I know I'd be down here with my I-pad, just surfing, chatting and taking in the sights. I have stayed at many hotels in my life. Of those hotels, several have had a Starbucks inside. But this is the first hotel I have stayed in that had a full service Starbucks and that is a nice perk. When people visit New Orleans they often have a tendency to overdo the partying. That leads to dehydration, food cravings and the need for a massive influx of caffeine. I am not saying that happened to me, but this Starbucks was a very welcome addition to my stay at the Hyatt. Since it is part of a massive chain, you already know what they have here. The sandwiches are a great snack or meal, and the coffee does contain caffeine. Service was friendly, but a bit slow. This could be because of the massive crowds so I cut them some slack, but it does bear mentioning. If you stay at the Hyatt, come here. If not, it probably is out of your way and you don't care. Not designed for business travelers. Despite being located in a hotel primarily used by business travelers, and having signs all over the store encouraging use of the Starbucks app, the does not work properly in this store. If you have a business credit card associated with your Starbucks account, it will not work here, so you'll have to choose whether you want to earn loyalty points or to have your business pay for your order (an obvious choice). I had a conference at the Hyatt, and visited the Starbucks while I was there. My Green Tea Frappucino was nice and creamy. It didn't have chunks of ice, as it sometimes does at other Starbucks. This location can be a little hard to find (2nd floor of the Hyatt Regency -- and it's a little bit of a maze up there) but they have fast service, good wifi, and lots of seating. It gets busy when there are conventions at the hotel, but they keep up the pace and the line moves quickly. Tables/chairs can occasionally be a little messy (a few crumbs) but not bad at all. I am a student currently living around the CBD and have walked to several coffee shops around the area. I cannot sing enough praises about this Starbucks. This is hands-down the best coffee shop in the city. Almost never too crowded and a good chance you have a table or couch to sit on and enjoy your coffee while having a meeting or getting some studying done. Awesome perk of staying in the Hyatt is being able to visit this Starbucks from 6am-5pm on the 2nd floor of the hotel. Can get busy in the mornings and lunch time as business conferences are held throughout the day at this venue and many visit Starbucks before and after etc. Other than that if you're a Starbucks fan and in the hotel/area..Great location to stop at and grab a drink. Got some drip coffee here and it was so incredibly burnt tasting, I ended up throwing it out. The next day I went to get some breakfast... Even though they told me two days before that they had "just" run out of the two gluten free breakfast items (sous vide and gluten free breakfast sandwich), it turns out that they don't actually carry either.
