I went in to ask for a remake of my drink because it was incorrect. When I spoke to the supervisor, Bernie, she gave me a really hard time and even checked the system as if I was lying. She said there were no orders. After that, I said never mind and placed a new order. I asked her to repeat it back to me, but she repeated it incorrectly. I used to be in customer service, and it's very rare to see workers work consistently. I was at the store 7980 Starbucks studying for a few hours...enough to see the shift change and everyone was very friendly and non stop working. I've been here a couple of times over the years but I tend to avoid this location because the staff makes the ambiance weird. They seem a bit more indirectly rude at this location all the times I've went. Free coffee coupon today for everyone that says iced or hot but girl at the counter says they can only do hot. Also friend ordered a Grande drink but they gave tall. The Asian guy working didn't even greet us when he was cleaning the door and just stared at us. When he got off work, his girlfriend was just there in the cafe sitting at the table the whole time and they were keekeeing and heeheeing out of their ears. Super awesome crew !!! With Upbeat attitude !! As soon as you walk in the door , the first greet and interaction was stupendous, very nice and welcoming ! They are life savers , really made my day ! After long morning , my coworkers and I needed coffee in our life's , we ordered from the Automall pkwy store , and when we got to the office , we tried our Brown sugar shaken expressos and tasted like black coffee with no sweetener . (Even if it did have the omilk) I went back to Automall pkwy and asked if they may please remake the drinks because it didn't taste like the usual drink , it was super strong with no flavor (brown sugar). The first barista looked at me and walked away after I asked kindly . They were very unwelcoming , seemed to be upset , (I didn't really want to return to begin with ) but we weren't going to enjoy the drinks we paid for ... they didn't say a word just grabbed the drinks and after 20 min of waiting they just placed them in the pick up area and walked away with no acknowledgment . I walked out and got in my car tasted my cup of coffee and it was the same , just added more milk it seemed like it wasn't remade . I didn't want to be given the same treatment so I left , Drove down to this Starbucks hoping they would help ! Recently here for a sports event. Ordered remotely the morning of 2/22 and had no issue. Ordered again around 12:45pm 3 beverages, 2 cake pops, and a ham and Swiss panini. Arrived to pick up when it said to and the beverages were ready. Waited almost 10 minutes when it was obvious they were not preparing food. When we went up to ask the guy and a girl who had been chatting behind the counter were like "oh yeah, it's coming". Then they went back to chit chatting. At that point another worker comes in from what appeared to be a break and put her apron on. She seemed to not get along with the other 2 workers and seemed almost in a daze/distracted staring off. The store was not busy with no other customers waiting to be served. Finally got our food over 10 minutes from when the app said it was ready. So me and my son walked in about 4:50pm right after a couple that walked in "they where asian" me and my son are not and when my son got in line the man behind the register was giving him dirty looks soon as I walked up to the line he tells the women that was cleaning up that they are closed so we had to leave. I do t know about the crew in the afternoon or evening but these morning girls are rude and can't seem to handle more than 3 customers without freaking out. They look like a deer in headlights when it gets busy. They've messed up on my order a few times and when I tell them, it's like I'm the problem. Every time I go to this establishment. Something is always amiss. First of all I am the only one in line, yet it still takes 10 minutes to get an order in. Then when I try to use my own cup, they say no because it has something in it. It's got coffee in it. This doesn't matter at any of the other establishments nor has it mattered at this one before. A pleasant Starbucks conveniently located near the VW and Ford and other auto dealerships. Overall good experience with lots of natural light from plenty of windows and friendly service. Convenient to the Newpark mall and some of the auto dealers - there are a bunch more on Auto row along with Carmax but a few are right around this Starbucks which is located in a strip mall. Super convenient if your having your oil changed - a second option if you get tired of looking at the waiting room at the car dealer. I've always found that if you wait in a waiting room things take a lot longer. Starbucks perfects the art that is a comfortable space - the lighting, colors chosen... the warm wooden tables. The ambiance is so pleasant you just want to hang around. The one uncomfortable thing I noticed is the comfort of the chair backs on the community bar height table. Somehow they were placed in a terrible position to force ones self to sit too straight up. Beautiful windows and lots of them. I like the overhang over the windows and how the light is so indirect. There are also window shades that soften the light further without obstructing the view. The community table was equipped with charge stations for cell phones but all the adapters were missing... c'mon people!!! Don't take all of them!! I guess that Starbucks perk will never catch on. Before I know it I get a phone call from Ford that my car is finished. I ordered "The Works" and was surprised it was completed so quickly before I could even really settle in. Newark locations I pay $3.65 I buy this drink 7 days a week today I came to the Sycamore location and they tried to charge me $7.05? I told them I never pay this price at any location the lady told me oh well that is the price? SPACING - it's not a big setup - but they do provide you with indoor seating to highlight a sofa and plenty of outdoor tables and chairs too. It can get hot at this location but they do provide plenty of umbrella shade. Overall... it's not bad...but not the best..!! The Starbucks is located at the corner of this small plaza. The place is pretty clean and there has a ton of parking space. There are short tables to the right and left, along the windows, and at the left corner there are 4 lounge chairs (leather seat, cloth back and side). In the middle section, there's a long table with 8 taller chairs on each side. This place would be pretty good for group projects, or if you wanted to work at a coffee shop. When I was here, they were playing Disney songs (Moana, Coco, Milan, Frozen, etc) I ordered an everything croissant, and asked for it warmed. When I got the croissant, I could see that they had clamped it directly in the middle of it, so it became extremely flat :( was kind of sad about that. read more
