I usually stop in before or after work for a caffeine filled pick me up. I've only been frequenting this location for about two months so it was surprising to see a familiar faces from another store location behind the counter running things at this store. Mary, who I assume is the store manager, does a great job at making sure things are in shape. I can tell because the overall look of the store isn't a mess and the bathroom isn't trashed either. The other staff members there seem to appreciate their customers and serve orders promptly. Joni especially provides excellent customer service and is great at remembering my usual order. I usually just get a simple vanilla iced coffee with half & half which this is probably the only location that gets the perfect amount of sweet in my drink right. For eats, I'm boring and usually do a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese. I do enjoy their $8 power lunch deal when I'm too indecisive about what I want to eat for lunch.Their chicken with quinoa salad really does satisfy an empty stomach and tastes really fresh. read more

My favorite Starbucks by far! This Starbucks has a spacious seating area with its merchandise placed in a location that is accessible but not obtrusive. Even when lines get long, the baristas take orders and deliver correct drinks quickly. This efficiency doesn't come at a cost to customer service, though -- the employees here are friendly, attentive, and good at sensing and reciprocating how social you are in the mood to be. Plus, the workers and patrons at this location tend to be better looking than every other Starbucks. Only downside -- parking is near impossible. I am a fan of Starbucks, as many of you, however, I have noticed that the overworked staff, tend to forget that customers come first, lets forget customer always right, they are not always right, but on that foothill location in Pasadena today, I reached to get a bag of sugar, which for some reason, you are required to ask for it, and ask for the stirrers, and ask for the creamer, the male crew there snapped at me as if I was committing a theft. He could've made his point in a more respectful manner. So in return, I snapped at him. This starbucks is as good as it gets. The staff is super friendly and they always make the coffee as ordered. The only thing that sucks is that there isnt enough tables and chairs. Other than that, no problems. One thing that sucks is this new pasadena ordinance about smoking. Im a smoker and will continue smoking where i please. Dont really care about the ordinance or anyone complaining about it thats taking a drink to go. I will not smoke if someone is being bothered by it though while they sit on the patio. Never fails. Every time I place an order thru the Starbucks app, I show up to pick it up and it's wrong. Then the barista gets offensive and decides that it's right to argue saying that what she made is the right order. When I show her the order on the app, she then realizes she's wrong and has to remake the order. This happens consistently every morning and also ignores you when the whole shop is empty. read more

Family and I stopped at this Starbucks after seeing the Upper Hastings Ranch Xmas lights around 7 pm ish. We were expecting nice holiday cheery customer service but we were met with the rudest employee ever! Wish I would have gotten his name. A member of our group wanted to order a butterbeer frap off the secret menus. She first tried to order it by listing the ingredients and he obnoxiously cut her off and said he didn't know what she was talking about. So she showed him a picture off her phone and he got frustrated, rolled his eyes and took the phone from her so he could figure it out. She tried asking how she should order the drink in the future and he told her to memorize the ingredients. I felt like yelling at him. She tried to tell you the ingredients to begin with and you were rude as fuck!!! But I didn't want to risk him tampering with our drinks so no one said anything. Baristas, I understand secret menu items can be difficult but it's your job to provide good customer service and make the drinks people order! I have been getting drinks at many Starbucks locations, but this one provides horrible service. Today, I stopped by this location to get some gift cards and ask the girl named Jax if I could have an extra envelope because I messed up the name on one of them. This girl told me their policy only allows them to give 1 envelope per card and if I need 1 more envelope, I must buy another gift card. What the heck? I was late for work so I didn't even bother to look for the Manager to clarify, instead I just told the girl: "That's not nice, that's not nice at all" and left. Coffee was fine. Service was ok. I was at this Starbucks on 3/5/16. I was on my laptop and when I walked up to go to the bathroom this creepy man starts moving towards my laptop which is in the southeast corner. He stands 1 foot away from it, hood up, for 15 seconds waiting until I get into the bathroom. There is no reason why as soon as I get up he should get that close to a laptop that isn't his. He didn't order anything and it wasn't even that busy. I come back to my laptop standing behind him, and he says "oh sorry" and keeps his head and walks away. I'm a very trusting person but I know for a fact if I didn't look back at my laptop he would have swiped it. He went to another corner, head down, and kept to his phone, never ordering, never taking his hoodie off. I told the baristas and they said "ok". HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I have not had a negative experience with an utterly rude barista EVER! Ryan was very rude about getting a refill with gold card perks even when I got corporate on the phone. No appologies no nothing... just a very rude response and bad mouthing me to another Barista. Will avoid this location from now on. I used to go to this Starbucks drive thru because it was on my way to work. 85% of the time they messed up my order. I would always order white chocolate mocha and a bacon gouda sandwich. My sandwich was either cold from the inside or they gave me a different sandwich. And my drink, they kept giving me chocolate mocha. I hate chocolate! This is a good Starbucks. Service is excellent. Drinks are made well. Nice pastry selection. Lots of seating (they've remodeled, as of this past summer). And lots of seating outdoors, facing Foothill Blvd., so you get a neat view.. other than the typical parking lot view. They have free wi-fi, of course. Parking can be a bit iffy, since it shares one with Ross and Best Buy.. and the spaces are SO NARROW! Therefore, mostly one car takes up two spaces. But you can't blame them. Try parking on the side streets next to it. Less chance for dings, and easy get away. My favorite drink here: Latte with no foam. Whole milk rules, but their skim milk is not bad at all - doesn't taste watered down. The standard is 2%, so if you want something different, let them know. Their espresso is a tad bit muddy/grainy in the way it appears to the tongue, but nice and strong, nonetheless. Second favorite drink: London Fog, which isn't called that anymore, but they'll know what you mean. Earl Gray tea with steamed milk. The epitome of a comfort drink. Pastries to try: Lemon loaf, Vanilla bean cupcakes when they have it (usually around the holidays), chocolate espresso cookie, and I've had a recent sighting of a hazelnut espresso brownie.. but the angel over the shoulder convinced me to stop staring and just get the drink. The devil over the shoulder will win next time, methinks. Prices: Way too high. Over $4 for a grande? C'mon. The profit margin here is surpassing greedy. Edited to add: Told ya the devil would win. The verdict? Don't get the hazelnut espresso brownie. It doesn't taste like hazelnut or espresso. Just a slightly dry brownie with a buttercream icing that tastes plastic-y. read more
