Located inside the iconic Empire State Building, Starbucks Reserve offers a more elevated coffee experience than a typical Starbucks. The space is modern, spacious, and beautifully designed, with specialty coffee beverages, premium beans, cocktails, and fresh food options. Large windows and the historic setting make it a nice place to take a break while exploring Midtown Manhattan.

We were sad to see the Starbucks Reserve in Seattle close, so when we saw this one open while strolling in NYC we decided we had to pop in. The café is located on the bottom floor, pretty easily accessible. It wasn't too busy compared to the main floor when we went. We ordered the Paradise Pour Duo flight (non alcoholic, but featuring whiskey barrel aged cold brew). The drinks were fantastic, creamy but not too sweet. Only downside is the restroom situation is not great, limited rooms and having long lines for access is not ideal.

I love the Starbucks experience. The Starbucks reserve takes it to another level. There's so many choices for food, for drinks, and for merchandise and it's just an experience. The service is impeccable. The staff is on point. They're helpful and helping you to find what you're looking for and it's just laid out in such a relaxing and accommodating, and heavenly place just to chill out and have an incredible cup of coffee.

One of my favorite places in Manhattan. The main level is the coffee shop with unique Reserve and Empire State Building-themed merch, plus a lot of food items (savory items in addition to sweet items) that can't be found at a typical USA Starbucks. My favorite part about this location is the Coffee & Cocktail Lounge on the 2nd floor. (There are even happy hour specials!) I refer to this to friends as "the Starbucks speakeasy" because it's a hidden gem. My friend works upstairs in one of the higher floors and didn't know this existed until I told her! Full bar, can also order food items. 2nd Floor - Very large space with a lot of seats/tables with table service, or you can sit at a hightop in the bar area or at the bar itself. (There are also some seats at the windows for prime people-watching.) I always opt for the bar area. I love watching the mixologists work their magic with all the creative cocktails! Our mixologist/server was super friendly and helpful. On my most recent visit our party consisted of 2 locals and 2 visiting from out of town. We all had a great experience and enjoyed our drinks. 2 of us had the Espresso Martini Flight, one had the seasonal cocktail flight (the double matcha margarita was a VERY pleasant surprise!) and one had the standard espresso martini (this one was discounted for happy hour!)

We sort of stumbled on the Starbucks reserve why we were in the area visiting Empire State Building. We ventured down to the reserve space in the basement and it was much less busy than upstairs. There was plenty of space. You ordered from your table via QR code and it did take a while for the drinks to come. We got a paradise pour duo flight and whiskey barrel aged coffee. The whiskey barrel aged coffee is a go to for me at the reserve as it's always delicious. The paradise pour was a neat experience but it was way too sweet for us. This reserve spot was much less busy than the Chicago one so if you're in the area and want to try the reserve over a normal Starbucks, I'd take advantage. Make sure to check out the floor beyond the street level.

Cool spot at the bottom of the Empire State building. They have drinks and merch and a fancy upstairs with alcohol and eats. As well as a tasting room downstairs. I had a pistachio latte and sat in the middle level. There are lots of seats available to hang out on a cold day.

I always love coming to Starbucks Reserve, especially this one! The ambiance of it being in the Empire State Building is so special. The service is fantastic and so accommodating. Starbucks Reserve is really the next level. The specials are always incredible. Last time, I tried the Espresso Martini and it was so tasty. This time, I tried the Ube Espresso Martini and oh my goodness, it was so delicious! Not only was the drink visually appealing, but it was one of the best drinks that I have had! I can't wait to go back and have it again!

Darker, more sophisticated feel, a lot more merch specific to NYC and the Empire State Building that sits above it which are cool gifts for non-NYers and NYers a-like, two stories of Starbucks cafe and tasting space. Nice but relatively sparse seating. Big counters and a lot of pastries in the early morning. Will have to try the restaurant next time - was there too early for it to be open.

SO is a fan of the expresso martini whilst I found it pretty decent - I liked the chocolate bits on top I was not a fan of their butterfly pea roll as it tasted stale. it didn't have the fluffiness I would expect and as much as I try not to waste food, I could not finish this. Love the vibes of this place tho

An open area on the second floor just for people who purchased items at the bar. I wanted to plop my happy exhausted self in an open chair but NO. You CANNOT BE SERIOUS. Hope you like sitting on steamy air vents because that's what you get at the RESERVE, Starbucks Reserve must mean EMPTY SEATS ARE RESERVED for ABSOLUTELY NOBODY. The double champ does what he wants.

Holiday Martini flight: eggnog, peppermint mocha and espresso

I wasn't planning on going in but as I was walking around I saw it and decided to go in for a drink. I really liked the one at another location. I was surprised to have had to wait to get a spot at the bar. I had to put my name in at the podium and the wait was 5-10 minutes, which wasn't bad. They escorted me to a spot at the bar and luckily I was given water which was a nice thing, since it was going to be a while to get a drink(s). As I talked with my neighbor it seemed to take 15-20 minutes before I was able to order what I wanted. As I also looked around there wasn't many people at the bar or at tables behind me. I guess it could have been busy because of people dining in. I know probably the worst time to be anywhere trying to get a drink during Christmas when probably much busier. I decided on the holiday martinis, a flight of smaller size flavors of eggnog, peppermint and espresso mocha. They all were very good even the peppermint one which I'm usually not a fan off. I decided to move on after my flights but it took a while to cash out, we'll to get the bartender to come to do so.

This Starbucks Reserve is next to the Empire State Building so you can do both of them together. There is plenty of seating and tables in this area and plenty of merchandise to buy. I decided to buy a thermos for my future vacations since I love New York and want something to remember from here. This place has interesting desserts that aren't at your normal Starbucks and food that you won't see unless you come here. So if you enjoy something different than your normal Starbucks, try this reserve.

Pumpkin Spice and Apple tasting event
    Kenneth K.

Great Starbucks and not your typical one. It is the second largest I have been, with Chicago significantly larger but similiar concept. My wife is a Seattleite obsessed with Starbucks and I saw they had a pumpkin spice and apple tasting event which are our favorite flavors. No one else joined so we had a private session with the barista that we loved. Compared to big, bright, and loud Chicago location, this was quieter and darker.

I was warmly greeted by the gentleman at the door (5 service there), which set a great first impression. However, as soon as I walked downstairs, it felt like the space had lost its speakeasy vibe. I was seated right near the stairs and could feel cold air from outside every time the door opened, which made the experience uncomfortable. I was also surprised to see how much the cocktail menu had been reduced. When I asked about it, the response was that "the place changed a lot." That's fair -- places evolve -- but instead of highlighting the improvements or new strengths, the explanation focused negatively on what the bar used to be. As someone who really enjoyed the former version, that wasn't reassuring. Unfortunately, the drinks themselves didn't make up for it. One of the two cocktails was simply not good. No one came back to check on the drinks, and when I asked for the check after about 20 minutes, there was no acknowledgment that I had barely touched mine or any inquiry about my experience. Overall, a place I once enjoyed and recommended now feels more like a standard dive bar where " Mixologist " were replaced by bartender and were fun cool looking and tasty drinks were replaced by " less complex cocktail ", lacking the warmth and attention to detail that once made it special.

The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. We walked in without a reservation around 6:20 p.m., and they were able to accommodate us at a shared table until 7:15. The menu surprised me a bit. Since I associated the address with Eleven Madison Park, I wasn't expecting to see items like wings stuffed with sausage, which were done in partnership with Jungsik. We ordered those along with the mushroom burger and asked them to cut the burger in half for us. The cocktail menu was creative and a little intimidating, with unconventional ingredients like cream cheese and green curry. I went with a fruity Hendrick's-based drink, and my friend ordered the spicy green curry martini. Both were good. Mine didn't taste very strong, but it also wasn't overly sweet because there was enough bitterness to balance it out. The green curry martini was more adventurous but still worked. Service was mixed. There was a woman standing near us, so we tried ordering food with her, but she seemed hesitant to come over. Maybe she wasn't a server or was newer. For drinks, she brought over someone more seasoned, who quickly helped guide us based on our preferred taste profiles. Her suggestions were very good. The mushroom burger was the highlight for me. It was a little salty, but the crispy mushroom and soft bun were a great combination. I honestly wished I had more than half. The wings were okay.
