I recently was on a bike ride in the Sacramento area and agreed to meet a friend of mine there since it was near to his home. We were sitting outside, my colleague had already gone in to purchase his beverage. I wasn't sure if I wanted to purchase anything, but during the conversation I needed to use the restroom. When I went and inquired if I could use the restroom, I was very snobbishly told "I needed to purchase something or I could go use the bathroom at the gas station next door". Since my last review, we've stayed in the area and gone to this Starbucks location on several occasions. The manager of this particular location has done an exceptional job with hiring because without fail, you will be greeted as you enter and thanked when you leave. The staff here are the friendliest and most polite of any coffee shop I've ever been to, Starbucks or not, and I just wanted to say a huge shout out to the team there - the extra effort, care, and attention they put into their work is noticed and very much appreciated. read more

Staff needs to work on giving the same energy to every customer. No matter loyalty or new customers. How do you greet a regular customer then ignore the rest that comes after. Another thing too is to watch what they say when there are customers around. I just came in to pick up a multiple order and as I'm asking for straws. A conversation starts within the staff members "why are all these multiple orders coming in now?" Another staff member "I don't know but I'm so over it." It's been a while since I stopped at a Starbucks, but we were in the area and had some holiday gift cards burning a hole in our pocket..... ok, we had already loaded them onto the app, but we knew we had some money to spend. This Starbucks is smaller, tucked into a place by the gas station. I actually had no idea it was here for the longest time. There's a good amount of parking and event though the store is smaller than normal, they have some indoor and outdoor seating available. The staff was friendly and our drinks came out hot. I'd watch out during peak times as I could see this spot getting really crowded. They do have two sets of doors- the ones closest to Gateway Oaks will put you where the mobile pickup area is, if you're looking to get in and out. Overall, A-Ok but nothing crazy to note positively or negatively. read more

So disappointed in this store. My fiancé and I were running errands and I had to use the restroom. We stopped and I went in and asked to use the restroom. They allowed me (a white woman) to use the restroom and didn't make me purchase anything. About an hour later my fiancé had to use the restroom on our way home. We stopped here again and my fiancé (a black man) went in and asked. Same people working, same everything. They denied him, telling him he had to purchase something first. This blatant racism is absolutely unacceptable. I would understand more if it was maybe a different employee, one following policy and the other not, but it was THE SAME PERSON. I'll never come back to this store and frankly, I'm not a fan of Starbucks in the least anymore. Try Dutch Bros, they're WAY better and not racist. read more

This is our go to Starbucks! The staff is very friendly and efficient with taking and preparing orders. Most of the time, we're placing mobile orders and we never have any trouble with our orders. Usually we're grabbing some mini scones, chocolate croissants or sausage breakfast sandwiches to go with our drinks. Parking is not a big issue here because many people seem to pick up their mobile orders, so they're in and out. They do have open tables available for folks who want to sit and do some work while enjoying their coffee. They also have some outdoor seating space if you want to enjoy the fresh air. read more

I stopped by here one morning around 7:30 am for the first time and it was an awesome experience even though I ordered only food. The staff were just an all star team and very friendly. As customers were walking in they all got greeted, some were regulars so they were greeted by name which was just awesome to experience. There was a lot of people in the store but all taken care of by one of the employees as they came in. Once I placed my order I went to sit on the side where the orders were placed. I was just observing and was really amazed how the team was organized. Everything was coming out in a decent amount of time and there was a flow between the employees. I waited maybe 5-8 mins since I got something they needed to heat up. As people left, the employees also thanked them and stated to have a nice day. I think my favorite part that day was that I noticed all drinks and food had a small written comment. Whether it was "have a nice day", "thank you", a smiley face, it just grabbed my attention. As I got my ordered I was also thanked and was wished a great day. When I got to work I thought I didn't have a cute comment on my items but I did and it made my day. Even though it was busy I just want to thank the staff for the continued great energy as customers on that day. I hope to go again and have the same great experience. read more

I've had to use my own time from work because they decided to completely ignore my coffee order... which was a simple latte. Order was said to be ready at 9:44 this morning. And I showed up at 9:50.. my sandwich was ready and when I asked for my coffee they said sure coming up. So I waited 20 minutes for my coffee that was placed at 9:30... it's now ten and I've wasted time and energy here. NO ONE even apologized or tried to make it better when I asked for a refund.... This Starbucks is close to work and most convenient. I just started coming in on a regular basis so I'm not too familiar with the staff yet, but I'm not feeling the love. Unlike my regular Starbucks in Elk Grove, I just don't feel welcomed here. Maybe it's cuz I'm still "new". I see them greet regulars more warmly. I have asked several different staff members about the new star system or an email I received and I never seem to get an answer. We have been coming here for two years and the service is always great. However, today there was an employee working in a black apron on the outside of the drink pickup area. His service was incredible as well was the rest of the team. I've sat with my two dogs outside while my wife goes in for our coffees for years and never has someone come outside. He came out almost immediately and asked if my dogs would like some whipcream cups. I said yes and he went in and got them and brought them out. Not only that but I asked for small ones because my dogs had never had whipped cream and beagles eat to much as is. I could see through the window that he was handed two really full cups of whipcream. He could have easily just brought those out but he had heard me say "small" and proceeded to spoon the top half into the trash. None of this needed to happen. Everything he did from the time I sat outside, never entered the building, he gave me exceptional above and beyond service. 5 stars and the dogs loved the whipped cream. I don't usually yelp larger entities like Starbucks franchise locations, but the staff here totally deserve a shout out! My office is close by and the afternoon caffeine fix is very necessary most days. The line isn't ever too bad, but If it's an off day and it's out the door, the staff make sure to quickly take your order way before you pay so your drink is ready to go by the time you walk over to the "pick up" area. The orders I put through the app are always made so quick, way before the estimated time and again, the staff are just so dang nice. Good job, Starbucks...well, at least this location. read more

Majority of my days start at Starbucks... & I love this location! This staff is the best: always friendly, consistent, and smiling. I've always gotten perfectly made drinks here. & personally, I've never seen another customer have to send their drinks back. This location is definitely a great way to start your day off. My favorite part is that they're personable with their customers. Like today, barista Andrew noticed I usually get a breakfast sandwich everyday and I didn't today. Though it's a small detail, it was kind of cool that he noticed! Sometimes the line here gets backed up due to it being in such a popular area, located right by a business park and conveniently next to I-5. But have patience because they truly whip these drinks out, and they're all working hard behind the counter. Note: There isn't a Drive thru. I love freshly brewed Starbucks coffee. This stop is on the way to my work. Every morning I come here for a cup of fresh, aromatic coffee. The True , Staff sometimes does strange things. once or twice a week I consistently get the wrong coffee that I ordered. If noticing this in the store, they change without problems. But if i drove off and did not check it - sadness. Once, instead of a fragrant cup of coffee, I arrived at work with a mug of some awfully stinking green liquid. The weather is great so hanging outside at my first time here at this location. I know the brand well and am not disappointed with the iced green tea at all. Outdoor seating is perfect today. The bathrooms are clean, one of the side lights on one of the bathroom mirrors needs to be replace and the temperature inside the store is quite chilly. I am a big fan of this location. I drop by occasionally in the morning just before I head into work. The baristas here are not only friendly, but efficient. They are darn good at catering to the customer's need. Sometimes I come here with my colleague and we both have certain requests we'd like for our drinks. For me, I often order my chai tea cold, with less syrup pump than it comes with and with fat-free milk. My colleagues orders this espresso drink with modifications I can't seem to remember... but the staffs here recognized my face in just three visits and even remembered how I like my drink by then. No matter how busy this place gets in the morning, it amazes me how little I have to wait before my drinks gets to me. This tells me that the staff here not only enjoys their job but they are proficient as well. It took me 2 recent visits to notice that a remodel was done, usually I'm in here and out so quickly that I don't notice my surroundings. Often times it's the small things that makes me happy to come back. Today for example, my barista wrote my name with hearts next to it. This is one of my favorite Starbucks in Sacramento, but like all Starbucks, sometimes you have excellent experiences, and sometimes they are average to below average. I have frequented this location for years and lately my experiences here have been better and better. The baristas are very friendly, make excellent drinks, and SOME give exceptionally great customer service. One huge plus about this location is that they serve Starbucks Reserve coffee from their special Clover brewing machine, which uses a vacuum-like technology to make high-grade coffee taste even better. So far, not many Starbucks in the area have this machine. A few things I didn't like about this location - 1. A couple times I got a worker that was not familiar with Starbucks refill policy. You do not have to solely order coffee to get a coffee refill. 2. The temperature inside is fairly cold, which makes it uncomfortable to stay and sit for very long. But I'm guessing that's probably their intention. 3. The electric sockets are so loose. If you try to plug anything in, it's very likely it will fall out. Overall, it IS Starbucks, they serve all the typical Starbucks drinks and La Boulange pastries. It is a great location and great place to meet people for a brief hangout. read more
