100% the worst Starbucks I've ever experienced. Now you have to order ahead or you should order ahead because it's not a traditional Starbucks. They really specialize in taking online orders which is fine. We got there and supposedly somebody picked up our order. OK well that happens they would said they would make another there was nobody in the café And we waited. There was three employees and one coffee to make it took them 12 minutes to make this coffee mind you this was an iced coffee. There was one person who is actively work in the registrar and making coffees one person that was dusting and another person that had a bucket of ice Yet it took 12 minutes. The manager and workers REFUSED let me buy a cup of ice OR water. Very much not customer centric or able to do right by the customers that serve this business due to "policy" policy clearly is preventing this business from continuing to get clientele. I work downtown right next to this Starbucks and due to this I will never comeback. I will go to blue bottle the next closest coffee and pay more rather than come to a place that refuses ice or water to paying customers. read more

The guy at the register was very slow and did not know how to type in the order. One barrista who was very slow with a crowd standing in the room. I got the wrong order and the customers were getting very impatient. After a 10 minute wait, and discovering I got the wrong order, I couldn't even get the barrista's attention to get it corrected. I walk everyday downtown. Will alternate my route and go to another coffee place where they get it right! read more

Terrible service. Terrible coffee, compared to the other locations in the area. They won't do refills because they don't have a lobby, but don't have a sign for it. They miss the old Starbucks ideals of customer service when notifying a customer of this. They made me wait over 10 minutes just to get a manager to give me a refund for the already paid for refill. A total waste of time. For the first drink, mind you, they took 15 minutes just to make it with absolutely no one in the store. I normally don't review but idk who made my iced brown sugar shaken espresso but it was amazing... also I got an egg white wrap. Fire. Sometimes things taste different depending on the store but this store did it right. Also it's so nice inside and convenient. The works were also really friendly. There was one brunette guy there that you could tell took his job seriously and was putting in a lot of effort to greet the customers. This is one of the worst Starbucks I've ever had the opportunity of going to. I am unsure when did greeting customers become a task too hard for employees to do assure no misunderstandings occur, especially in a location that doesn't have any signs, not even a menu. We entered this very unique location, and were a little confused what to do. We weren't sure you can order in person or if it was pick up only. The sign says pick up outside. We stood maybe two feet away from the register while they were in the back making orders presumably... until another came in, and they greeted him, and said they'd be right with him. While this was all happened the manager, Judith, was on a phone call in the back. I made it very clear it was unprofessional service. It is very disappointing to have this experience in a great city like San Diego and especially in an area I'd imagine really popular with tourist. Suggest a sign or something in the store if the baristas find it too difficult to communicate with consumers. After reviewing more reviews at this location, I think possibly there may be a pattern going on. For us, we walked in, and weren't served, but a white man walked in and was. I have seen they have had other opportunities of ignoring POC while servicing others first. Won't say racist, but I will say people should be mindful of optics. read more

I confused this place with the one down the street on 600 West Broadway on the app. Why they build more than one SB coffee shops less than a mile from each other seems pointless. Anyhoo this is a fairly nice SB, they put a screen up to track your order progress. The gal working the counter seemed nice enough but she appeared to be the solo staff here slinging drinks at 6am. They probably should have more staff working to prevent orders from backing up. read more

Shout out to the incredible customer service at this location. My first visit here I was given wonderful customer service and generosity by Chester. This was my first time here ever, and I thought he was a great representation of the company and extremely considerate. My 2nd visit here I was given great service again. The person who helped me at the front was very friendly and welcoming! I can only say good things about the service that I received here. NOTE: You must order on the app. It's so easy. Love this location- very cute interior and very modern looking. My only concern is that they don't allow people to order in-store, only on the app. To me this doesn't make any sense? Especially when they have a visible register in the store. Just seems unnecessarily inconvenient for people who don't know and a way for them to potentially lose business, especially considering the 4 other coffee shops in the immediate vicinity. This location is a pick up only location where you place orders on the app prior to arriving. It's a convenient location right on corner of Broadway and across street from immigration court. The employee was very nice to take my order in store since I didn't know it was a pick up only location. I ordered a chai tea latte grande it's very sweet and delicious. Overall a positive experience highly recommend and keep in mind parking is limited and not free. read more

It's Starbucks what can I say we all know what they have! This location unfortunately is only for mobile orders but they made an exception to take my order "THIS TIME BUT NEXT TIME IT HAS TO BE A MOBILE ORDER!" Now they were my 2nd choice as I was across the street at another coffee house that offered seating & a wide variety of eats & treats but unfortunately their customer service was horrible! Though this Starbucks is mobile orders only the girls still took care of me AND THE OTHER CUSTOMERS that walked in behind me (a total of 6-8 people). The girls were insistent on using the mobile app for next time which sucked and they weren't busy but ok. Any hoot the girls were sweet got everyone's drinks out promptly and off we went....The End! read more

Coffee was good customer service TRASH! I (black lesbian presenting female) walked in to order and was ignored by the 3 employees working and so I thought ok maybe this is a order ahead place so I stand there placing an online order via my phone and a woman (white female) walks in and immediately is greeted by 2 of the 3 employees and asking if she'd like to place an order. At this time it is myself and this other woman in the building and I'm still placing an order and a employee calls out a drink order (perhaps it's muscle memory at this point) but no one else is in the store. I complete my order and await my beverage and I don't get a name call but my drink is placed on the to go order area and the white female who placed an order gets her name called and drink handed to her. read more
