I have officially given up on this store. For mobile orders just send it to another location. I'm not sure if they don't train their employees at this specific store on mobile orders or what but it's actually gotten worse. Expect at least 10min for the drink to be completed. I went through the drive-thru to pick up a couple of holiday lattes here because it's also across the way from McDonald's drive-thru which made picking up lunches and coffee really convenient. I ordered on the mobile app to just pick and go. Once I got there no one acknowledged me. Tried talking to the manager and he didn't help me. Told one of his employees to help me she didn't even acknowledge him to help me. Till the young man helped me. I understand it's a busy morning but still acknowledge your customers that's coming in. Other Starbucks employees at other places like the one on Oceanside off of Emerald, they greet their customers regardless if it's for a mobile order, order in or drive through. Service is not a priority to the shift manager. I ordered ahead, 10 minutes ahead and had to wait almost 30 minutes at the store. She had the slowest employee making the coffee for the inside orders. Literally every time I come to this Starbucks I get bad service. I thought the first time it happened I'd let it slide but when it's constant you know somethings bad. Most the workers here are not pleasant and will not acknowledge you. They let you stand there like an idiot waiting to be tended to. Also if you order inside they don't call out names. This is the best Starbucks in North County. I've been to so many Starbucks in this area that are ridiculously awful and this is by far the best. Though they have long lines, they are worth the wait. They make your drink correctly and staff actually appreciate their regulars. I often drive through here on my way to work. Staff is always polite, and it's right next to the gas station which is super convenient.

All the staff is extremely friendly and easy to talk to, and junky just about coffee, but they actually care to hear about our days and care to see we are well taken care of. I used to love this location but in the past few times i have gone they have given me the wrong substitute milk. I always ask for almond milk, never oat milk and they will repeat my order back to me correctly and yet 3 different times I have gotten oat milk in the past few weeks. Normally its not a big deal but 3 times in a small time frame is excessive and expensive. Not only am I paying extra for the milk alternative I am paying for the wrong one and I can't enjoy my drink let alone finish it. I love this Starbucks. The baristas are awesome and hospitable. I have rarely encountered a bad barista and when they do come up they rarely last more than a month. I have been coming to this Starbucks for years and they keep making it a wonderful place to study (back when I was a grad student) and to work/do further research. I got a Quad shot over ice with 3 pumps of white mocha, and cream. The white mocha was not mixed in, there was only very few ice cubes, and to my knowledge quad shots are traditionally layered drinks. with the expresso and mixed in with the syrup, ice, and creamed poured on top. read more

I'm usually in San Marcos frequently because of school, friends, family, or restaurants, and with about 4-5 Starbucks in San Marcos alone (probably more), this one is the best one out of them! Although the parking lot situation sucks, they've always made my drinks on point! Only like two times did they miss something, but the baristas are always friendly! In the morning it's chaotic definitely because it's next to the freeway and a stupid gas station is in front of Starbucks, so entering and exiting out of this place feels a bit Mickey Mouse. This location is a studious student's dream or nightmare -- lots and lots of seating, including several community style tables, so you can plug in the laptop and be alone with your homework, or not so alone with a room full of other students or web surfers. We, the oddballs, were here not for studying but for drinks at the end and beginning of our road trip to the area. First time in I had one of my usual drinks--an iced green tea. It was fine as usual. The second time in i thought i would try something new,so I asked if I could have the salted caramel mocha prepared skinny style, and they gladly agreed to do so. And it was delicious! I order and 5 mins later the worker said we are out of the item, I knew this was going to be very hard for my son to handle so I went to the table and told them they were out of the item. Long before COVID, this particular Starbucks was barely mediocre at best. They never make the drinks correctly. They are never consistent in comparison to others near them. This is my go-to STARBUCKS on the way back to LA. I like this one because it's drive-thru. I didn't do drive-thru today, so I had to go in and get my cup. Service was alright. I get that it's Labor Day and who wants to work today...but the Baristas could have made a little effort in being a little bit more attentive? I just didn't get that vibe today. This is a very average Starbucks. We were staying at the hotel across the street so we had coffee and breakfast here 3 days in a row. All 3 days the breakfast sandwiches were good. This is the slow roasted ham, double smoked bacon and the reduced fat turkey. These are always a better option than the "continental" breakfast offered by the hotel. The one thing we did find was the coffee tasted bitter or burnt on the third day. The restaurant staff was quick to help and refunded the cost so a shout out to the team which is A+. read more
