Reviewing an international chain to support local workers here, who by all accounts are professional and pleasant. Always friendly and place is clean. Plenty of space to relax and sip coffee. This place can get busy during rush hour but as soon as crowd is gone it's peaceful that you can get lost in the books or publications you brought to read. Plenty of parking on site. read more

Love this spot, they are very accomodating, VERY QUICK at remaking your drink if they toss it out. They even pick up the phone call and maybe I was lucky due to being delayed with appointment. I would never get in the drive-thru because you can be trapped in there. The parking is always tight so don't go during busy hours or you'll be stuck at the red light if you can't go out the other 1 way direction. Former Starbucks cynic here to say that this store is winning be back over. I've never been to a Starbucks where the staff is so attentive to in-store customers, proactively offering refills, bringing napkins, delivering food and drinks. I have always experienced them to be warm and friendly. Management seems to be excellent. This place became my "temporary office" when we became a 1 car family for a month, as it's so close to our house. But with an inside pleasant and rarely crowded, sunny windows, and a kind and attentive team (not to mention free refills)...I've kept going back. There are other local spots that will always have my heart, but when I need a place to write all day...this has become on my regular spots. And I'm more surprised by that than anyone. read more

This is neighborhood Starbucks and I always enjoy coming here. Everyone is so kind, especially when we go through the drive thru! This visit I came to work to get out of the house. Connecting to the internet is always easy. I ordered at the counter (usually a mobile gal) but since I was staying in house, it made more sense. I ordered an iced nonfat latte with sugar cookie foam. They're out (totally get it- the world is experiencing shortages everywhere) so I got sweet cream foam. My order came quick. I sat by the window and was able to get my work done. Today is my birthday. The app for some reason though it has my birthday entered in it did not show I had a birthday reward. I voiced this to the lady at the window and in the rudest nastiest voice she said there is nothing I can do for you. The entire experience was awful and she was so disrespectful to me about such a simple question. No one was even behind me yet I was rushed and shooed away. My sister had a birthday last week and didn't even have the app and was given a birthday drink. I spend a million dollars at this Starbucks and to get treated like that on my BIRTHDAY is ridiculous. Friendly staff and ordering is pretty fast. I go here pretty much every other day and I've never had an issue. They're pretty great here and my order is alway correct and ready.I actually love this location. It's not exactly on my work route but I make the effort for quality and friendliness. To be fair, I use to work for Starbucks stores in Texas(6.5 years) and the vibes and focus on window times over customer care/culture were pathetic. Not saying this location doesn't give good window times- just an observation on friendliness, care, and quality that tops the locations I worked at and the ones I was a customer at prior to moving. The lady was very nice via the drive thru. I pulled up and she provided really nice service. She greeted by saying good morning and i thought that was really nice. I then asked for sauce for my sandwich she recommended siracha which is one of my fav sauce. I'm a spicy girl I love a good spicy sauce. The drive thru was very quick and easy and they even have free wifi for everyone. I found parking and ate my sandwich and drank some of my drink so it was very good way to start my day very peaceful and the ambiance was very eccentric and I like it a lot. It's a Starbucks. What makes this one different from all the other Starbucks, is that they are slow as molasses that has been kept in the ice box. I don't even get complicated drinks. I order cold brew, black and it still takes forever. However, they do provide me with a laugh. They can't spell my name right. I could understand if they spelled it with a ph instead of the v, but here they spell it with a b. The last poor barista who tried to call my name out had no idea how to pronounce Steben. I give him credit, he politely asked how to pronounce it. Since the v & b are next to each other on the keyboard, I just smiled and told him it was a typo. This Starbucks is in my hood, so I'll continue to support them. I'll just take a deep breath before walking in and make sure my patience switch is flipped to the on position. read more

Let me start off by saying while the drive through and parking can be extremely difficult to navigate during busy hours, this 5-Star review is for the Chippewa Starbucks staff and the food and drinks they put out. Every time I've rolled up to this drive thru, I am genuinely welcomed by the staff. Usually there's a hilarious person who will take your order and slip you some jokes. They share my kind of humor. They also deal well with people like me, who on occasion, happen to forget the name of the green Evolution drink I like that isn't the gross-tasting green one (yes, I literally ordered that way), and the person knew exactly what one it was. Mind reader! Or perhaps they too experienced the same bitter, watery taste the "Green Devotion" drink had to offer and learned to always go for the Super Fruit Greens Evolution drink instead. The staff at the pay window have always been really friendly as well, often saying hello to my pet chicken or dog who will be riding along with me, and many compliment my R2-D2 car USB charger who beeps at them. I have to love anyone who appreciates Star Wars. Also, I'd like to say this location goes above and beyond. One time I made a mobile order meaning for it to go to Chippewa, but Webster Groves had accidentally been selected instead. I called both the Webster Groves and Chippewa locations, and they both said it was no big deal. I was able to arrive to Chippewa and picked up my order no questions asked. Like it was said in another review, it's a Starbucks. Drinks are usually good they're very nice when I ask for puppicinos for my dogs in the drive thru! It is quite small on the Inside, not a ton of places to sit so if you're coming here to work or study, I would check it out before hand. The employees don't seem super thrilled about working, not completely off putting but not warm. VERY limited parking and it's hard as hell to get into if you're coming from the west. You HAVE to enter through the lions choice parking lot or the tiny little entrance next to the drive thru..or you can wait at the light that's always red and turn right BUT sometimes the line blocks getting in so I wouldn't suggest that option There is quite a bit of outdoor seating Overall, it serves its purpose but I wouldn't say it's spectacular read more

Most confusing entry and exit I've ever seen, but what is worse, I parked there for less than 5 minutes and came out to find my car covered in sap from a Pine tree. A storm was blowing through so perhaps the wind was unusually strong, but I'm sure this has happened to other customers who love their cars as well as coffee. This is a great Starbucks. Pros: Location is convenient. Staff is very friendly. Store and bathroom are kept clean. Orders are usually on point. Cons: Trying to get in and out of the parking lot can be puzzling. You have to hangout in the middle of the road to wait to turn left into the weird lane to get around the back of the Starbucks to the lot. Then turning left out of the parking lot is basically impossible so you have to get a little creative with your path to get back to Chippewa. I frequent this location often for meetings and to work, because the coffee is good and there are plenty of seats. I went 3 times last week. read more

This Starbucks is part of my rotation of three that I patronize when I'm in South City. The staff is friendly and my drinks are generally made correctly. Typical for your local Starbucks. One thing I have to warn you about with this location is the drive thru. This gets busy and you can enter from both directions of the parking lot. When you come off the street you sometimes cannot initially pull in leaving you waiting in the street blocking traffic. Other times when you are pulling in from the opposite direction as someone else it becomes a game of chicken in which I have seen several patrons fight over who was actually next to pull forward. While this location is closer to my house I will pass it and go to Kingshighway if I see this occurring otherwise I prefer the drinks at this location. Update: As much as I wanted to believe they had improved on their espresso drink making skills my trip yesterday was really disappointing. My husband had stopped ordering espresso macchiatos here due to them being made incorrectly more times than not. It should be espresso with just a dollop of foam. The last time I got one for him it was decent so we started ordering them again. But yesterday I got him one and it felt light so I thought it was made correctly but we got home and it was just espresso shots with no foam. I checked the cup sticker from the drive thru and it said the correct item. My husband drove back and talked to them about it and suggested some staff education for quality improvement as Starbucks is not cheap coffee. They didn't offer much of an apology and just offered to remake it for him or give him $4 towards his next visit. I will continue coming here for convenience since it's hard to mess up an iced latte but my husband will not be coming here any longer. read more

Easily the worst Starbucks I have ever been into, is this one. The wait first of all was horrendous and a joke, you can tell this store is ran by people who have no idea what they're doing. I then order, wait for 15+ minutes without anyone saying ANYTHING to me, and finally when I asked, I get the most hateful attitude from a supervisor I'm guessing named "Christopher" who appears to have severe mental issues. The baristas at this location are not friendly (but I guess if I had to work under hateful pathetic "men" like this, I would be as well), management clearly isn't a thing at this store, otherwise this store wouldn't be an atrocious circus like it is. As someone who's always came to this location for years, I will never be back, as well as a handful of others who also were tenured customers after the disrespect this man treats people with. Maybe focus more on treating people with said respect and less on being hateful and arrogant (when you clearly cannot do the job you have). read more

Before everyone jumps all over me for giving two stars, let me explain: I'm cold. Temperatures in St. Louis often reach 105 degrees, and it certainly did when I visited this Starbucks. That's why I chose to take my laptop inside, sip a smoothie, and complete an hour of freelance. That hour, unfortunately, turned into two simply because the air conditioning is jacked for an eskimo. My hands could barely type and I had to keep fixing my stiff-fingered typos, but I was determined to bang out this assignment, so I stayed until the glacial end. Seriously, I get that it's balls-hot outside, but that doesn't mean that you have to have the indoor temperature set to 55 degrees to compensate. It's ridiculous. I should not have to bring fingerless gloves to a coffeeshop. Other than that, things were ok. Nothing was too exciting to write home about. Service was average, strawberry banana smoothie was average, music was average, wifi speed was average. Points for being open on Memorial Day. Had this location not been an ice cavern, I'd have been inclined to stay and sample a pastry. Alas, the Chippewa Starbucks is getting crossed off my list of un-home office places because I don't want to bring my parka everywhere I go. read more

Starbucks, you failed me. When I usually stop here on Saturdays, the parking lot is full, people are parking next door at Lion's Choice, and the drive-thru is snaked out to the street. Yet I still get in and out quickly, with a correct order. Today, Memorial Day, the lot was half empty, no cars next door at Lion's Choice, and only 2 cars in front of me in the drive-thru. I ordered my usual venti caramel macchiato and pulled around. I could see right away that there was a problem with the first car's order and they were remaking it. The car in front of me went without incident, but I waited a full ten minutes after paying to be served. They made the order for the car behind me, then the one for the car behind that. The server verified that I had a venti caramel macch, and still I waited for them to make it. When it finally came I put it into the cupholder, tipped, and left. Um, yeah, Starbucks, do you REALLY think I can't tell the difference between a caramel macch and a vanilla soy latte? Yep, after all that they still got my order wrong. I think it's time to head to the Kingshighway store for a while. read more

My drink lids always smell like perfume. Maybe employees shouldn't spray fragrances on their wrists? The drive-thru is incredibly INCREDIBLY slow in the early morning. It shouldn't take 10 minutes for 3 cars at 7:30 a.m. on a Saturday morning. Update: On Monday, June 22nd, we arrived at 5:38 a.m. Three employees working, one car in the drive-through and one customer--us--inside, and somehow it took us almost 10 minutes to get in and out of there. No decaf. They never have decaf brewed. You can go in the morning or the afternoon or the evening--no decaf. "We can do a pour-over..." It literally takes a minute to make the coffee. They use a giant scoop to measure out the coffee and the hot water comes straight out of the pipe into the machine. All they have to do is flip the switch! It also irks me that, in the drive-through, they always tell you to pull around to the window for your total, where you're then told that they don't have what you ordered. I don't usually do reviews but this particular location is rather frustrating for me. I want to start by saying the staff has always been friendly and nice but my compliant is with the drive thru. I live right across the street from this location so you would think this would be my good to spot. Unfortunately the drive thru takes forever! I'm regularly finding myself waiting in line for 10 plus mins. I decided against my better judgement to stop here before work today. Definitely made a mistake after waiting 15 mins in the drive thru and being late almost 10 mins for work I will probably never go to this location again when I have somewhere to be. read more
