Yes, I rated a chain 5 stars and here is why... My coffee maker, a french press, broke the week before SB opened. My backup, a Keurig, died the next day - no warning just died, wouldn't even turn on. SB has a drive through, I have two kids, dragging them in and out of their car seats is worse then glass in your eye. :) Those are the reasons I went to SB, but here are the reasons why I am giving them five stars. My first two trips through the drive through, because of high volume and new equipment malfunctions (the phone scanner wouldn't scan my phone). They didn't charge me for anything! By the third time through the drive through they knew me and my order. My husband had a similar experience. We found the service exceptional. The staff went out of their way to make sure we had a satisfactory experience. Kudos to you Sun Prairie Starbucks. I am glad you are here. :) read more

I'm a regular Starbucks patron, but this is definitely not the best location I've visited. I've gone into the store and through the drive-thru several times. Going in the store was fairly quick, but I've had long waits and even ended up getting my drink free because it was so slow through drive-thru more than once. I mean, I'll take a free drink of course, but I would prefer quick, efficient, service over long waits. read more

I was so excited when I heard that there would be a Starbucks at this location, as I'd been wondering about this large building on the corner. I thought us crazy kids in Sun Prairie were getting the biggest Starbucks in the WORLD. I was so wrong. Starbucks is just a little bit of this building, the rest is still being finished and I haven't heard anything about what's going in there. At any rate, I wanted to check it out but had already had my caffeine dose for the day so I went with a caramel steamer. I'm not sure where to begin...I'm relatively new to the game of coffee ordering and I'm still in the basic stages of figuring out my flavor combinations. This Starbucks has some of the friendliest staff working and they have infinite patience for me when I order and make some suggestions on what I could change to make things better. I really appreciate how even with the line behind me when I'm in the drive thru they never rush me. I have been a happy Starbucks patron for many years. I used to work across the street from a location in the area. A group of us would take a walk 3-4/week to get a drink and say "hi" to the staff. They are so friendly and we enjoy our service at the University Ave location very much! However, I recently changed locations for my job and now I am working closer to the Sun Prairie Starbucks location. I have been to the Sun Prairie Starbucks many times now. The first time I came in and ordered at the counter, it took over 15 minutes to get my drink. From then on I have used the mobile order feature and about half the time the drink is not done when the app tells you it will be done. Today by far was the longest time. When I ordered through the app it said my drink would be done in 3-6 minutes. I got there in that time frame but it took a full 15 minutes for my drink to be ready. I very rarely see the staff smile and today over heard one of the staff say they would never volunteer for a day shift ever again. Please either hire more staff to work the morning hours. Or maybe the best thing for this area in Sun Prairie is to get some competition in the area, like Ancora or Caribou to ease the burden on this location. That will probably be my recommendation to the city. read more

Not a good location for getting work done! I went there to study because Starbucks has free wifi and in general is known for people to relax and have coffee and read the paper and so on. But between the music that was just a little too loud, and the loud staff, not very courteous of the several people trying to get work done, it just wasn't a pleasant experience. They didn't even write my name on the cup, there was a sticker printed that got stuck on to it! Lol obviously not a huge deal but what happened to the old Starbucks we've all came to love? We were very excited to have Starbucks Coffee near us in Sun Prairie and began visiting regularly. The coffee is great. The staff exceptional, and the layout very comfortable .Unfortunately it ends there. We found that the temperature is always set at freezing, winter and summer. The music is so loud you can't here yourself think, or hold a conversation, and the genre is pop. we tried sitting outside weather permitting only to find tables and chairs not yet cleaned from the winter. We will continue to visit Starbucks because of the friendly staff and great coffee, but will sit outside, after cleaning the chairs and tables read more

This location is a happening spot! I typically do the drive thru but it moves quickly. I've had a couple of wrong drinks given to me but as a coffee addict it doesn't matter to me enough to complain. The service is usually friendly. The only thing that bothers me is that the employees working the drive thru are talking to each other on the headset and there have been a couple of occasions where I think they have hit the wrong button and you hear the conversation when you're waiting to place your order and I also think it plays a big part in the accuracy issues I've had with them. read more

Well well well...the place where basic white girls hang out with their leggings and uggs. More like fuggs cause they are so stinkin ugly. Service was exceptional except for the lady that told us she was there 24/7. We did not need to know the useless fact. They did not have smoothies to my knowledge, so i ordered the tye dye cappuccino...yuck. tasted like unicorn urine. Must have had to go milk the unicorn cause it took 14 mins to make. I've been coming here regularly since this location opened. It's reasonably fast, and you can see the drive-thru when you pull up, so you have the option to park and go in if there's a long line. I've had my drinks messed up a little a couple times, but the baristas are almost always courteous and fix it right away, and they're a generally friendly bunch. Though if you bring your own cup through the drive-thru, they usually fill a regular cup, then take yours and pour the drink from the disposable cup into yours, which kind of defeats the "green" aspect of bringing your own cup. There can be a little wait sometimes, but it's always been because there are one or two slow people in line, in my experience. I think think things have been improving overall as the newer staff have gained more experience, though. Beyond that, the atmosphere and drinks/food are pretty standard for a Starbucks. read more

Visited in the morning before work. Used the restroom while I waited and they were filthy. No toilet paper in either restroom. Don't they clean them daily? I really doubt it got so dirty during the 2 hours it's been open. I told the barista that they needed toilet paper and didn't seem surprised and just kept working. No response. Disgusting. Ok first, the baristas are very nice and they try, but sometimes the drinks are inconsistent in taste or wrong. I chock this up to lesser experienced people. But still. For the gripes, they are frequently out of things, they keep it like a meat locker in there, bone chillingly cold, and I'm a guy. Even on not-so-hot days. There will be flies inside sometimes, which will drive you crazy. The recycle/trash can is sometimes overflowing. Two things I really wish Starbucks would do to the room too. Put slides on the bottom of the wooden chair legs; the sounds they make when slid is like nails on a chalkboard. And also some kind of rubber dampener on the ice bin lid--when that slams/bangs/clanks closed continuously very loudly, it's incredibly startling and annoying. K, done. I have been going to this Starbucks for years now and these past few months have been horrendous. I have waited over an hour in the drive thru recently and up to 30 minutes for a mobile order (after being told it will be 5 minutes). The staff seem to not care if your order was made wrong, if you did not receive your food or you need anything. This location has failed at any expectations I once had of this place. I guess driving to East Washington for my Starbucks will have to be the alternative to this trash, they call a coffee shop. Terrible place to go. We have been to Starbucks' all over the world and have never received such poor and SLOW service. EVER. We were excited to see one put in near our home and close to places we shop frequently. Naturally we have visited about 5 times, giving it the benefit of the doubt, "they are new, they are training new staff, etc". Last night we were in there, the only people in there and no greeting by any of the 4 employees. we waited at the counter for 3 or 4 minutes before someone said they would be right with us. took our order. waited 10 minutes for them to make our drinks and they still came out wrong. i wasn't going to bother to have them fix it because we didn't have the time to wait another 20 minutes! As many others have pointed out, this place is slow but that's not the worse part. The place is ALWAYS filthy. I've made my last visit here today. The handle on the door was sticky and the bathroom has clearly not been cleaned since they closed for business the night prior. I'm wondering if a call to the health department would be a good next step?! If what the customer can see is this dirty, imagine what the places we can't see must look like. Probably one of the worst made coffee beverages I have had in the past 20 years. I don't know why or how SB can say they have any expertise in the industry (I have...and ran my own shop and was trained in Seattle also by one of the top NW roasters there) as they can't make a decent latte to save their lives. Far and wide have I traveled and cannot find one of them that can do it, but this one surpasses all of them in the sheer awfuleness of a poorly made latte. It's hard to even begin, but it is utter incompetence combined with just badly roasted coffee that win this one the grand poobah award for coffee best served inside of a car battery or as radiator fluid replacement. There wasn't one good thing I could say about it and tossed it in the trash on the way out the door. I think I've had better coffee at a truck stop in the middle of North Dakota, where that coffee tasted like hot water with a brown crayon dipped in it. The place was too massively busy to even bother to explain, say what was wrong with it or attempt to get money back. The tea my daughter got was also so bad it was not drinkable...she tossed hers out at the next stop down the road. Save your money and go absolutely anywhere else. read more

This place is so slow, I lived in Los Angeles for years, the Starbucks there were really busy, but for some reason the Starbucks at this location service is slower than if you went through the drive through. Every single time I come here my order gets mixed up. I called once to complain since this is the Starbucks located at my convenience before heading to work. I used to come 4 -6 days a week but because such bad service I started driving to the one on east Washington that's 10 mins out of my way. Today I didn't have time to make it to that one so I had my fingers crossed this location could get my tea right just this one time. Went this morning, 5/12/17, to the Prairie Lakes starbucks and because the drive-thru line was so long, I decided to go in. I ordered one coffee and had to stand in line for nearly 25 minutes. Every car that was in the long drive thru line got through before I got my coffee, and many people came in and left with their drink long after I had already ordered. Maybe you should hire more staff Starbucks. Btw...I ordered a Venti vanilla latte. Next time I will go to McDonald's and Order a mocha Frappuccino! read more

I have given Starbucks many chances and not just this location, but many others. there is no reason why I should have to wait in the drive thru line for 25 mins. I don't mind waiting in line, but not for my whole lunch break. And then I get my drink and it looks like they had poured a whole gallon of milk in my iced coffee. I visit this location anywhere between 3-4 times a week, and have been coming here since they first opened. The service has been absolutely horrible the last month. In the past when mistakes were made, their service and friendly baristas always made up for it. Unfortunately that isn't the case anymore. Mobile ordering serves no purpose at this location, because when you arrive (sometimes even 25 minutes later) chances are the order isn't done. It has happened to me on 4 different occasions this month, where I have mobile ordered both a drink and food, only one has come up, and I have tried to flag down a barista only to be ignored. This is after waiting 10 minutes to pick it up, and another 20 minutes standing with one item waiting for the other. Today I spent 35 minutes in the drive thru with another person, ordered two bakery items and one drink. When we got to the window 15 minutes later, the drink was made wrong, and we were told they no longer had the food we ordered (even though the woman at the order screen told us they were out of mostly everything else but she "checked" and they "for sure had" the items we ordered), and offered us a petite vanilla bean scone instead (which is a third of the price we were paying for what we originally ordered, and they still wanted us to pay the original price) we wanted a refund. This Starbucks does absolutely nothing to make the situation right. Never an "I'm so sorry" or a refund for the items they make wrong. For $5, you can get better service elsewhere in town. I will still be making trips here once and a while on my way to work, but you can get better service at Beans 'n Cream or Dunkin Donuts. read more
