I should have read my own previous review before returning to this Starbucks. I haven't been to this location for the longest time, but I drive past this location on a weekly basis. I couldn't believe it happened again, but it did. I ordered a venti matcha green tea latte, and I ended up getting a grande size! I asked for my receipt and the receipt showed that I ordered a venti size. On another note, I'm a person who doesn't like drinking with a covered plastic lid, so I removed the lid once I received the drink. I was also shocked to see tiny rainbow coloured "soap bubbles" on top of my drink. I did drink a mouthful, and I found it to be very watered down tasting and bland. Yet another Starbucks. Same coffee, same pastries, nice interior, same as the other 100 (are there a hundred?) locations in Vancouver. Just for sameness would give it 3* but this is one of the few UBC coffee/snack spots open from early morning to evening every day including weekends. Oh Starbucks, I have a love-hate relationship with you. I know some people say the coffee at Buckies is no good, but I gotta say I like my americano. My espresso machine at home, filled with some sweetass beans, makes a better cup for sure, but in the middle of the work day when I need an uplifting shot? Starbucks it is. It's so convenient, right on the corner across from my office. The service here is better than other Starbucks I've been to - especially the one I went to in NYC. The cute college girls are smiley and do a good job with the product. And the product does a good job on me: a tasty little boost. Not as good as a few of the ten thousand other coffee shops in Vancouver, much better than some, and definitely more convenient. I will see you again @ UBC. read more

I was in the hood visiting a friend around UBC before his radio show. We decided to have coffee here. We didn't luck out on seating 'cause due to location this is notorious for student study campers. Thankfully it was nice outside, therefore, we walked and talked before his show. The location is mostly run by students that need to be more organized and efficient. I asked for my tea to have some cold water in it so that after steeping it could be at drinkable temperature. Not an unusual request, I hear it all the time at SB. The girl looked at me like deer in headlights. I asked her to toast my bagal and she warmed it, not toasted it. I asked her politely if she could re-toast it, not a big deal but again, she looked at me like she was deer in headlights. No language barrier issues, she just seemed lost with a lot of concepts. read more

Finally! A real Starbucks on campus, and no, this aint one of those half made ones ran by idiots. This Starbucks is located on agronomy road within the UBC admin & payroll building. Outside are table and chairs, umbrellas, And paito heaters for your comfort. After visiting this location for so long, i am still unsure if this location is ran by ubc food services, because if it is, they have a serious bi-polar/staffing problem. The issue im referring to is that many of the on-campus franchises such as tim hortons, starbucks, triple os, etc are ran by ubcfs, and usually the service is pretty inconsistent and subpar. But this Starbucks is always on the ball and punctual with your drinks/goods. The inside is like any other starbucks, nice interior design, wooden chairs, benches, long tables, etc. they also have a nice refrigeration unit for all the sandwiches and drinks, separate from the baked goods cabinate. They have 2 tills which are serviced by 2 "trained" and respectful baristas, which will get you out on the road within a good minute. Getting a drink on campus shouldn't be a chore, apparently at other locations, it is. A respectable Four, out of Five. read more

This is my main Starbucks store on campus for a reason. For a store that almost always has a massive queue, the staff seem to get people moving quickly. They're incredibly organized and efficient. The staff are also polite and actually apologize regardless of whether it was their fault or someone else's. This was seen when some idiot took my friends mocha and my friend waited for 5 minutes. They apologized profusely and got him his mocha almost immediately. read more

This Starbucks is actually operated like other proper Starbucks (unlike the other places on the UBC campus which aren't trained properly). I had the iced coffee and the bacon egg sandwich. The iced coffee was much better than other Starbucks on Campus but the bacon egg sandwich was dry. All in all, good service okay food and convenient location. read more

*22/30* Yesyes I know, lots of people hate Starbucks. Mass production, mega corporation etc...but I don't hate them. Especially not at this time of year - how can you hate pumpkin spice lattes? It's nice to have a buckies so close to my home turf on campus (FSC). Management and staff here are really nice, and very effective. They don't seem as robotic as the baristas at a lot of other locations, and they'll chat with you if it's not too busy. The ordering processes is quick and organised, and they label your drink with your name so picking up your order is a breeze. They've got a decent amount of seating, including a bar that runs around the perimeter (wastes less space and seats more singles), a long table, and a few smaller tables. There's also a bunch of tables outside, with - bonus! - heat lamps! As for the food and bev, it's just the same you'd expect from Starbucks - which is good. I LOVE the new iPhone payment app. I know it's going to come in especially handy in the winter - goodbye fishing around for change with gloves on. read more

I'd say this is the best Starbucks on UBC. All of the workers are very friendly and they have a lot of options for sandwiches, desserts, salad, drinks, etc. Also, I feel like they rarely run out, and if they do run out, after a few hours, it's back in stock. read more

This is my go to Starbucks on campus at UBC. It's wicked busy all the time because of the location but it's clean and well maintained inside. There are also bathrooms down the hall which are accessible via the store. The manager here is super nice and remembers all of the regulars' names. 2 stars for the normal Starbucks, but an additional two for this location considering the volume of customers and how they still treat everyone well. read more

It's a starbucks with the same coffee just like all the others, but as my days at UBC come to an end, I thought I'd pay homage to my starbucks. This one is close to the computer science buildings, and open later than the others on campus, and I have spent ridiculous amounts of money here trying to perk up to finish assignments and exams. I find the staff are nicer than other starbucks I've been to, but we do live in a little bubble as students at UBC. Bye starbucks! read more

Love this Starbucks! There is a positive working attitude with all the baristas and a light hearted tone to the store. It does tend to get busy during rushes that are expected (lunch, after work, morning coffee etc.) but that can all be avoided if you time your visit properly. The baristas are almost always friendly and will respond nicely to you even if you ask them something about your drink or have something to bring up with them. Sometimes a few of the baristas are slower at pumping out the drinks but others are speed demons and it's quite interesting to watch them work. Yesterday I called this Starbucks location and asked for a favour; to deliver a cup of morning coffee to one of the firefighters at their station on campus. Tabitha was awesome! Service is slower than most other starbs but friendly and knowledgeable none the less. Love the patio seating.
