Apparently there's a secret VIP line and his name is Rex. Walked into this Starbucks expecting a normal coffee transaction. Instead I witnessed a masterclass in queue theory that I'm still trying to process. It was a peaceful morning when I walked in. Mild aroma of roasted beans, a guy on his laptop in what appeared to be a usual spot, one dude ordering ahead of me, me patiently standing a respectful distance behind him like a functioning member of society. Then Rex enters. I don't know Rex. But apparently everyone behind the counter does, because the whole team lit up like he'd just won a Nobel Prize -- "HI REX!" -- the kind of greeting usually reserved for war heroes or the guy who invented sick days. Rex is old and appears decrepit. He hobbles in and starts to make his way past me in line. I take a step forward, thinking he is headed to the bathroom, maybe needs a diaper change. Then he rounds around me and places himself right behind the gentleman who is ordering. Naturally I assumed Rex needed the bathroom key, or possibly a defibrillator. Instead, Rex calmly strolled past me, inserted himself directly between me and the guy already ordering, and put in a full coffee order like it was the most normal thing in the world. I stood there in silent disbelief, doing the mental math on how this was happening in real time, while the cashier cheerfully took Rex's order with the enthusiasm of an old friend. Then it was my turn. Same cashier. Notably less cheerful. Almost like I was the inconvenience for having waited my turn like some kind of rule-following sucker. So to recap: showed up, waited patiently, got skipped by a man who apparently has tenure, then got served with the emotional warmth of a DMV clerk on a Friday afternoon. Coffee was fine, I guess, but I didn't come here for coffee -- I came for basic queue integrity, and Rex ate my spot for breakfast. Two stars for the espresso. Zero stars for whatever the Rex Protocol is. Ask for Rex's autograph if you go -- he clearly runs the place. read more

On a daily basis , at this Starbucks location at 6516 Platte Avenue West Hills California constantly and consistently ignores FDA health code regulations that ban non-service animals (Ie.pets) from entering the inside of their food and drink establishment. Only actual service animals are permited inside Starbuck or any food and drink establishment that prepares, serves food and beverages. Emotional support animals are also not permitted inside any establishment that makes, prepares food , and serves Beverages. I have personally witnessed people bringing their large, medium and small pets inside this Starbucks location. As small as some pets may be I personally witnessed people setting their pets on top of the counter when paying for their drinks and their food, and on top of the counter where food and beverages are placed for people to pick up when ready. Furthermore they allow people in the outdoor eating and drinking patio area where pet owners will and do let their animals urinate and defecate in, and around, in close proximity to the eating and drinking, patio area, and around other business establishments, as well as putting their unleashed dogs on top of chairs and tables were other patrons will unwittingly soon be sitting, eating food and drinking beverages after they leave. I've also witnessed a couple, that had a very large dog that was drooling and slobbering profusely, use a rag that they carried with them to wipe their dogs dripping, slobbering, drool, then place that rag on the table. I'm sorry, but I have a beautiful dog of my own, I love her so much and treat her as family, and I just love dogs in general, but I don't let my dog urinate or defecate on anyone else's property, or in public places. It's downright disrespectful, and unsanitary, as well as offensive to some, who rightfully are bothered by seeing that happen where they are trying to enjoy their food and beverages. And despite Starbucks own policy that states that dogs are not to be permitted on the chairs or tables, must be on a leash at all times, well behaved, and remain on the ground, they turn a blind eye, and fail to enforce their own policy, not to mention actual health regulations that they are responsible to uphold. It is up to Starbucks management and personnel to enforce their own rules regarding pets inside its stores and in the outdoor patio areas. This establishment, at this address, miserably fails in this regard. The people in the photo below let their little dog defecate and urinate about three to four feet away from where I was sitting, then picked up their little dog and put it on top of the table where the little dog proceeded to sit and scratch itself. Then they put it into a little dog bed, still on top of the table. Sorry but that is totally disgusting and unsanitary. Soon after they left, some other people came and set their food and beverages down, right on top of the spot where the dog was scratching itself and sitting with its fresh poop butt on the table before the lady put it into the little dog bed. Noone had wiped down the table before these people came and put their food down. That is disgusting and completely unacceptable. Starbucks personnel and management just turn a blind eye, and won't do anything about it. read more

This location was remodeled a few years ago and that was a great move. It's a mobile order-heavy Starbucks. There seem to be few in-person orders so the mobile waiting area has a huge counter and space to stand for waiting. They had a lot of workers when I was last there which expedited orders. The food and beverage are the same as every other Starbucks location in the U.S. No drive thru but this place works fine. read more

Most of the time, my drink order is ready by the time I get to the store. The store's always clean and since the upgrade, it's roomier now. I like that they have some seats outside so you can enjoy the SoCal weather. As for the taste of the drinks, it's not very consistent to be honest. Like all Starbucks I've been to, this seems to be the same issue. The owner is very nice and she seem's to know the regulars and I've seen her interact with them. That's a great touch for sure. Parking has never been an issue, but there's a lot of cars moving in and out of the parking spaces here, so just be careful when driving. read more

Just asked about the reusable white plastic to go cups with white plastic lid and "Chris" said it isn't something that they carry. I go to this location all the time and tonight 12/19/24, the barista wearing the beanie was super rude. I asked if they had any of the plastic holiday cups and she gestured ever so sarcastically to the back wall.... I guess I wasn't clear.... Starbucks used to sell those cheap plastic holiday cups and I wanted to buy some. Then I reloaded my Starbucks card on my app and wanted to pay for my gift cards, she stated, "you don't get points for the gift cards." Okay.... And when we were done, she said nothing. Been going here for years, usually they make good coffee but recently I've noticed that my cappuccino is not as good as it used to be.

It was time for my 4pm iced coffee break and it was especially needed with the 100+ temperature we were having. The C19 pandemic restriction of wearing a mask is over today but we still wore ours going inside. We placed our orders and within a couple of minutes had them in our hands enjoying the refreshing cold drinks. I echo the sentiment that Becky and her team are amazing. Becky herself is always so upbeat and cheerful. Even if she doesn't know you by name or you're not a regular she is the epitome of customer service. Looking at the 1-star review there is one of their staff that may come across as lacking customer service skills but I think it's because she may be older and just takes her job seriously. Came here today specifically for the launch of red cups this season and of course to get my free reusable holiday cup and everything went smoothly.
