I'd have gone four stars, except the baristas were in a bit of a whirl of not getting orders right when Dear Hubby and I stopped in last Sunday afternoon. We'd ordered a Frappuccino, and ended up with just an iced coffee. The lavender syrup wasn't blended, either; just sitting at the bottom forlornly. On the plus side, this location, which I'd once disparaged as being too tight / crowded, now feels cozy and charming compared to other newer stores. For example, the one in Janss Marketplace in T.O. is a total turn-off to me with essentially zero ambiance. This walk-in (no drive-thru) in Westlake Village has intriguing, rich colored artwork on the walls, and a lived-in feeling that makes it feel like a neighborhood favorite kind of spot. It was a lovely afternoon, so we sat out front at a table that hadn't been wiped down in a long time. It was strewn with the crumbs of baked goods past, which wasn't great. Still, the restroom was reasonably clean, and the interior vibe reminded me of what unique character some Starbucks still present. I would have preferred that they got our drink order correct, but we survived, and enjoyed lingering on their patio for a while on a pleasant Spring afternoon. read more

I went in here to order a coffee to go. They were very friendly and very helpful. I like this Starbucks because it was within walking distance of the Hyatt where we were staying. It is a very laid back and chill location. They do have interesting signs up in this Starbucks telling you that they may have some products that aren't good for you (that's probably a Cali thing) and to follow them on INST and facebook. For clarity, this relates to the Starbucks at Agoura & Westlake specifically. Located in a sizable shopping center, so parking is never an issue. Plenty of outdoor seating, which is nice to catch some sun. Though there are shady spots, as well as just going inside. Very social atmosphere. Plenty of regulars. They let me know in an email I can't reply to, how very convenient and cowardly. So, let's just keep this one simple. The coffee at this Starbucks is TERRIBLE. It has very little flavor, and what it does have tastes like lukewarm dishwater. I had to throw most of it out. It was undrinkable. My unappetizing experience had to do with the unprofessional appearance of the servers. I guess Starbucks just doesn't get that staff appearances are representative of their company, and saying so gets your reviews removed, politics again. smh However, in all fairness, the servers were nice enough. Still and all, this second experience there was just as terrible as the first. I only went back, because I had a gift card. I also got a breakfast sandwich that tasted like warm cardboard. So, there doesn't seem to be any quality control at this chain. They are NOT all consistently good. I will never go back to this one, and the experience has turned me off to them all. So a couple things here , this review is not geared towards the drinks quality but more towards customer service. Two things , I bought my mom a venti plastic sippy cup two weeks ago and she didn't like it so I returned today to exchange it for a new one. I had no receipt and I just went in to exchange it, I even said I'll keep my plastic straw , and the lady was very rude when I asked to just have it swapped . She refused to have it exchanged and told me I need to contact corporate. In my experience I have returned other sippy cups in the past or I know someone who has, and have had no push back. I ended up going to another Starbucks up the street where they gladly swapped it out No questions asked. I have had a problem At this location before with loading a gift card as well. read more

I'm a regular at this location because it's right by my office. I am well aware that it gets BUSY in the mornings. Mobile orders can take as long as 15 minutes, in my experience. With that said, the staff absolutely tries to stay on top of orders. I usually see around 6 people working behind the counter, and their hands are always occupied. They are used to the craziness every morning, but some days are just more hectic than others. Still, each staff member maintains a positive, friendly attitude -- even when customers are yelling at them for drinks. If this is your go-to place, put in a mobile order early. I'm always surprised when I walk in and see a long line of patrons... The location gets cramped when people stand around. Guys, the Starbucks app should be your best friend! If there's ever an error, they are quick to fix it and send you on your way. No attitude, no questions. Any other time of the day, the store is calm and the staff are working just as diligently to get through the slew of orders. I don't stop and make conversation, but a lot of customers do and the staff know quite a few people by name. Nice, warm environment when it's not so hectic. read more

I have frequented this Starbucks several times in the past, but this is my first visit since the remodel has taken place. I think that this place looks much nicer than before. They actually fixed one of the biggest design flaws of the store. They used to have you order in the middle of the store and then go to the back of the store to pick up. It would get super crowded and bogged down with people waiting for their drinks with nowhere else to go. Now you order at the back and they set it up with a divider so that you know which way to line up, and you pick up your drinks in the front of the store where there is plenty of room to wait. The seating area is the same as before and there are still seats outside. This place gets super busy during peak morning times. It seems like everyone in Westlake Village stops here to buy their coffee in the morning. I try to avoid it before 10:30 am. If you do go earlier, the line does seem to move quickly though. I went in after 11:00 this morning and it was fairly empty, although that may be due to the construction in the parking lot. The employees here have always been very friendly and helpful. Today, I was using my free drink on a frappuccino and Houston suggested that I get a shot of espresso to make good use of that free drink, so I did! My drink was good as always and I enjoyed it. There is a large parking lot, but due to construction, the parking is a nightmare. Once everything is completed though, I think it will be very nice with a lot of spots to park in. I will be back as I am in the area one to two times per week and this location is very convenient for me. read more

Came in with 2 gift cards because I forgot my wallet. I asked the barista for the largest size of my drink that these cards would cover. She misunderstood which is fine, we have masks on, but she gave me sass when i tried to clarify. Then when i very clearly said "im just trying to get whatever these two cards will cover," she still charged me for a size up and said "you still owe 70¢." I tried to explain again, and she kept giving me attitude. Thanks to the person behind me, Juliette, who overheard and offered to pay my ¢70. Rarely are the customers in a business nicer than the employees. I say that as someone who also works as a server. I had gone to the starbucks across the street and gotten a drink that was incorrectly made. I was too far at this point so stopped at this starbucks hoping they would just quickly remake for me, like most starbucks usually do. The lady barista said "well why don't you go back to the other starbucks" and when i told her i was already here and just needed my drink remade, she made me pay for it!! at this point i needed to leave and didn't want to escalate the situation so I paid and left (also ended up getting a grande when my original drink was a venti). I called later and spoke to the manager Richard, and he was very pleasant and fixed the whole situation for me, very grateful for that. However the baristas need better training if they are going to treat customers like this. Ended up paying a total of $11 for a grande drink. Super upsetting. read more

I would say this is the worst Starbucks. I ordered my drink via the app and I paid extra for oat milk. I did not get ice in my drink. I go to pick it up and the drink was filled halfway. I paid for a large and received a child's sized version. The guy making the drinks was very rude and said if I wanted more oat milk in the cup he would be charging me an additional charge for extra oat milk even though I had already been charged an up charge. I will never return to this location and would advise you to not go there either! read more

This service here is ridiculously poor and started a couple of conversations about my theory on the IQ of customer service in the Bay Area versus So Cal. They got my friend's order wrong on both size and type and when I told them, they poured the incorrect drink (sweetened, when we asked for non-sweetened) into a larger cup and poured unsweetened iced coffee to fill it up. Really? Also, I saw the barista spill a hot drink over the bar and onto the floor where the patrons wait for their drink. He got some lady's toes and sandals and didn't look apologetic, more amused by the situation he created. This is a place where you need to get a receipt to make sure they entered and charged the correct drink. So don't forget to ask for a receipt as insurance! read more
