This place is discriminating and Rude. Walked in at 7:05am to order my coffee and pumpkin loaf. Everything was going smooth paid with my app. When I got my order the guy says "you need to change your name" I said why "He said it's offensive" I told him no other store has a problem with it so I'm not going to change it. He said " then we won't serve you" I said I won't come anymore he said "That's fine. So I asked for a refund and one of the baristas said "we need to get him out of here quick". I felt very humiliated and embarrassed by the three of them saying that in front of everyone. They singled me out for being gay. I thought all Starbucks were LGBTQ friendly and were all nice but unfortunately, this Starbucks is very rude and discriminating. If the app allows me to change my name, then it shouldn't be a problem. The word Bitch is in the dictionary so there is no way that word is offensive. He could've just refused to say my name like some other stores do or yell it out like some do. Please think twice before you go to this Starbucks and get humiliated. My name on the app shouldn't be a problem. These three barristas are they reason why there is hate and discrimination in this world. We've been through a lot and we shouldn't have to worry about being disgraced and humiliated when ordering a cup of coffee. Every other store that I go to always give you my order and they even say I have a unique name. Starbucks is my go to coffee everyday and just because this happened it won't change anything. The three that were rude, humiliating, and discriminating against me. I will pray for you and hope that God changes your heart. There's too much hate in this world for you guys to be that way with valued customers. BTW My name on the app is I'mThatBitch. ‍ ‍

Used to come to this location fairly frequently. Not as convenient now, but was in the neighborhood today. It's not a large indoor space, but they have a good sized patio to one side. It's screened by mature plantings to provide separation from the parking lot. The young man at the counter was friendly and prompt. Good start. The barista seemed to either be having a moment, or was ready for a break. I ordered their new chili mocha frappucino and a pumpkin spice frap for Dear Hubby. Neither came with the sprinkle of spices on the top. Bit of a shortcut, and ultimately a fail. Not only does the added flavor set off the other ingredients, but visually it is part of the package. I mentioned it about the chili mocha. He said, "Oh, yeah." And sprinkled with a flick of the wrist. He could have / should have said something to cover the moment. A thank you for coming in would have been good. Attitude means so much. Hoping it was just a case of time for shift change.

Much to my surprise, it was about as lively as I had remembered it. The Alley was established during Covid times and offered a retreat to escape from the humdrum of the homestead. These days, its friendly vibe welcomes neighbors and visitors with a backyard setting strewn with twinkle lights and family-style tables. It's a causal scene and easy to soak in the live music, sunlight/moonlight, and neighborly banter. The layout resembles an alley with shops on either side, big open doors invite you to grab something to eat, sample a drink, or shop for handmade gifts. On one side, you've got craft brews and coffee roasters. On the other side, it's local wines and piping hot pizzas. Dogs are welcome all around. At the center of it all, there's live music on the weekends. Modeled after a Beer & Wine Garden concept, The Alley features Enegren Brewery (beer), Lucas Sellers (wine), California Coffee Republic (java), Fire & Vice (pizza), and The Craft House (non-alcoholic tchotchkes). As a self-proclaimed wino, I opted for a sampling of the Lucas Sellers Wines. Ashley, who was behind the bar and top of the pours, gave me good suggestions and offered anecdotes about each wine on tap. At the end of the night, my light pinot paired perfectly with the Mushroom Arugula pizza from Fire & Vice. And I felt right at home, surrounded by friends.

I ordered an iced café latte mocha--half white chocolate, half mocha--and from the very first sip, the coffee just spoke. It was incredibly smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced. The blend of white chocolate and mocha wasn't overpowering at all--it was just right. What also surprised me was the size of the drink for the price--great value. On top of that, the service was super friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. The inside of the shop was also a treat to see--clean, inviting, and just a really nice place to hang out and enjoy your drink. We usually go to places like Coffee Bean or Makena, but after this visit, I think we've found our new favorite spot. If you're in the area, this place is a must-try. The space itself is chic and impossibly cute, a mini cafe that feels like a hidden boutique find, quaint in all the right ways. The croissants are the genuine article: buttery, flaky layers with that perfect golden exterior that only comes from someone who truly knows what they're doing. Every pastry here is crafted with care and it shows in every bite. And the mocha coffee? That alone is worth the trip. Rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced, it pairs beautifully with anything in the pastry case. The staff are warm and genuinely welcoming, making the whole experience feel personal rather than transactional. One thing to keep in mind: this is not a drive-through. It's a small owner-operated cafe where everything is made with intention. Come with time to spare, settle in, and let the experience unfold. An ABSOLUTE GEM in Simi. Pastries, drinks, atmosphere,…read moreservice... all on point. I'm obsessed with this place. You walk in and it feels like you are transported to a Ghibli dream cafe. Small and cozy, cute cottage-core hedgehog figurines with mushrooms adorn the entrance table where all things hedgehog are displayed. It's the small touches here that show what thought was put into this place; like fresh strawberry mint water (or other fruit water offered) and always soft French jazz bossanova playing in the background. The service is amazing, despite never seeming to have a lull- there's always a good stream of people at any hr of the day filtering in. So let's get to the food. My family has been multiple times now, and Every pastry was a sheer delight. Not too sweet! Just right. The pastry chef making these has meticulously crafted a curated array of fun unique options that seem to change often. Drinks offerings are organic drip coffee, teas, matcha and also hot Belgium chocolate or iced Belgium chocolate. Things we tried: Iced strawberry matcha with homemade strawberry jam Iced Chai milk tea Lemon brioche Strawberry curd brioche Curry ball (crispy outside delicious spiced lentil inside) Maple pecan croissant Cherry danish Pear danish Curry pie Chocolate orange silk pie Every one was stunning. This is an adorable date idea, cute morning or mid day treat, or for kids- I brought my nephew and he can't stop raving about it.

I found the atmosphere to be so inviting, warm and modern with plenty of seating and a really nice outside patio. I would also mention that's it's so nice not to lumped in the middle of a strip mall like, ' Longevity in TO & Ragamuffin in Newbury Park' . I love the design of the interior! I have been to a ton of coffee locations in the area, ( Westlake, TO, Newbury Park, Oxnard, Ventura , Santa Barbara, Malibu) and this Cafe Ficelle location is up there with the best of them. Yes the parking is not perfect- but....the service I found on my, 'so far 5 visits' has been excellent and my ' cappuccinos' have been perfectly made and tasted superb. I also had a Tri Tip sandwich which I also found to be really tasty. I am a fan and would encourage you to give it a shot and look past the 3.7 stars on Yelp- I hope this location makes it as the Pizza place that was next to it didn't.

Crusty, toasted baguette, tender tri-tip, and perfectly melted Gruyere. The dipping sauce was rich and flavorful, a perfect complement. Each sandwich also came with a fresh side salad of arugula and goat cheese. The croissants were very good. We arrived close to closing, so the pastries may not have been at peak freshness. I would recommend enjoying them earlier in the day, ideally with coffee or tea. Since we were sharing, our server sliced each croissant in three pieces. Thank you! The cafe itself is charming, with warm dark wood, cozy seating, and a fireplace that adds to the ambiance. Indoor temperature was a bit cool during our visit, but still a pleasant environment, and there is outdoor seating as well. The staff was friendly and service was quick. One small note: it would help if the staff had a better grasp of the menu and felt more confident describing it. The food speaks for itself and is worth highlighting. Parking was close and easy, and I especially enjoyed the light jazz playing in the background, including standards sung beautifully by Ella Fitzgerald. P.S. I always forget to snap photos. The sandwich was Insta-worthy.
