After seeing there was a line of 7 cars in the drive thru; I figured maybe it would be faster to just go in! It was mid-afternoon; past the breakfast or lunch busy time, so I went inside and saw there was just one party in there who had already placed their order & was waiting to have their name called.....and there were 5 Starbucks employees behind the counter! Well that was wishful thinking; Romeo quickly took my simple order for 1 iced coffee & then I waited for over 20 minutes while the employees seemed to walk back & forth and back & forth......moving quickly but not really seeming to get my order, or anyone's finished. 4 or 5 customers came in after me, some had done mobile ordering but orders weren't seeming to be being completed with any urgency. I guess maybe they were all working on some elaborate drive-thru orders because I watched the same car sit at the window for like 10 minutes. It would suck to be stuck in that line; because once you're locked in by cars in front and in back; there's really nowhere to go! You can't change your mind. I finally got my coffee; ahead of the girl who said she had done a mobile order 15 minutes before she got there. It was ok; a little too strong, but I just took it and left because my husband was waiting in the car & he was getting really impatient. The woman with the short black hair wasn't very kind when I pulled up to the window to get my order. She wasn't friendly, didn't smile, just ran our card. When she handed us our drinks we told her one of them was supposed to be iced. She seemed visibly annoyed. She didnt say sorry or anything she just took our drink back and made us a new one. When we drove off we realized my drink had "2 pumps of pecan syrup" on the label when I had asked for one so it was overly sweet. Our other drink didn't have a label so we didn't know exactly what else we got. Bummer experience. Will definitely be getting coffee at the local small shop in yucca instead. read more

This is the only Starbucks I've ever been to where they handed me a cellophane wrapped pumpkin loaf. I suppose it produces less waste than transferring to their logo pastry bag and I also suppose it's more sanitary without extra handling of the food. The drink service is painfully slow and the few tables they have get occupied by those waiting so not an ideal place where you can sit with your laptop and work with your morning cup. I dare say this may also be the only Starbucks I've been where my drip coffee was luke warm and didn't taste like the usual Pike Place Roast that I requested. I don't love Starbucks but I've come to depend on the quality of their drip coffee so this was a mild surprise. If possible, avoid the morning rush; otherwise be prepared to wait a long time for your Pumpkin Latte. The place seemed chill enough after the morning rush. read more

Endlessly frustrating and disappointing spot. I depend on this location for mobile orders almost daily before I go to work. About 8/10 times the drink tastes watered down, or it's not even ready yet (even after ordering a simple drink nearly 20 minutes ahead). Doesn't seem to matter how slow or busy they are. It actually seems the less customers they have, the slower and more rude they are, and the more customers they have, the slower and more rude they are. Today was the whopper. Someone at Starbucks forgot to mark the mobile order as unavailable. I had placed a mobile order, paid, came to pick it up 20 min later only to find the doors locked. There was no way I could start over (especially after already having paid) because I had timed it perfectly to give myself enough time to grab my mobile order and get to work on time. I spoke to the manager through the glass and told her I had placed an order and paid for it. She continued to tell me I had to go through the drive thru (which was absolutely packed). She has not been one I've had a friendly interaction with before. I live locally, but I am saying goodbye to this Starbucks. Sadly, it being the only one in town, they will continue to be crappy and make other customers unnecessarily unhappy. read more

Poor service, poor tasting drinks, staff look stressed out all the time. Store is too small. It takes 15-20 minutes to get your order. Chai tea tastes like espresso. No chai taste at all. Waste of time and money and effort. Needs an overhaul in staffing and management. read more

People give this place such bad reviews. It's almost like they've never been to another Starbucks nor left this town and gone anywhere in their lives. I see most of the reviews were made during the pandemic when things must have been harder to accommodate for so many orders. I travel a lot all the time die work but live here in the high desert and I love this location my partner and I have a speciality nitro drink we order and I would drink daily if they delivered. Unfortunately we don't have Uber eats up here or else Starbucks would deliver to our homes. They get my drink perfect when I go inside and I do agree with people service is quicker inside then going drive through. Plus I love the employees. Staff has bad attitude, slow service. I ordered a mocha frap and it was pretty busy. I was being patient but it took them 20 mins to make and the store was cleared out by the time they got to my drink. The worst Starbucks ever! Way over capacity. The music is extremely way too loud. They don't call out your name as your waiting. They just leave your coffee off to the side and we had assumed that they were mobile orders. When I got my drink 15 minutes later, I didn't like my chai tea latte. I was explaining to the barista why I didn't like my drink. Rather than listen to why I don't like my drink she argued back with me telling me that my drink was made correctly. I tried to explain even further how would like my drink to made and she kept interrupting me. So I threw my drink away in front of her and walked out. This location is so popular and so busy you guys should really give them more people especially in the mornings, on the weekends because of regulars and tourists. The staff is really polite and helpful, cold brew wasn't tasting strong and Nick was nice enough to remake it - they are basically the only Starbucks within a 25 min drive so its usually packed but somehow the staff is always helpful and professional ( even with a full store and packed drive through) - my only tip would be for the cold brew to be let to brew longer, or use more beans just because it tasted a bit weak today- overall great staff working here and love this place read more

I orderd what I always do, the dopio machiatto, which is what a cappuccino should be, but Starbucks for whatever reason likes to serve coffee flavored milk drinks, and the dopio machiatto is a good compromise. read more

Plus, it has a drive-through and quite a lot of outdoor seating. :-) Overall, the staff here is nice and they make all that Starbucks makes. No more no less. Went here twice during a weekend trip in Joshua Tree and even though the first time I went I had to wait more than 10 minutes for a mobile order I was still pleased with my drink. The workers were very busy so I was patiently waiting, maybe they could have acknowledged me and it would have made my experience a bit better. Starbucks is just Starbucks. But this location is insanely busy, and it is the only option in the entire morongo basin. If you have access to the Marine base, you might be able to get Starbucks there. But, otherwise this is it. Allegedly, this is the busiest Starbucks in Southern California. But the the customers service is phenomenal, drinks are great, the restaurant is clean, and wait times are reasonable. When I was ordering, the barista taking my order kept cutting me off. I ordered a venti chai latte with oatmilk, blonde espresso, and a pump of pumpkin. I order this in 29 palms everyday so I definitely know how it should taste. this drink was straight up hot water with a shot of espresso. there was no pumpkin and definitely no chai... I'm pretty disappointed.. my friend also ordered a chocolate cream cold brew which she orders often and said hers didn't taste right and from the start it looked very milk and odd... just sucks paying $15+ for drinks just for them to not be made right. I would've gone back but I was already on the way to Palm Springs and didn't have the time. I shouldn't really have to go back though... you expect it to just be made right. read more
