This is our third time bringing our dogs to Starcrest. I can tell that their experience there is good because they have no reservations when they arrive. One of our dogs, Lola, is allergic to every protein but fish, and the staff does a good job making sure she doesn't eat anything she is allergic to. Goku wouldn't work out in one of those doggie spas, so I'm very thankful that these guys take good care of my furry friends. I have never have any problems with Rita, as I make sure my dogs are properly vaccinated, and I send her pdf's of the vaccines right when we get them. I think Rita really cares about the dogs, and it makes me less anxious when I have to be without them for a week. Thanks Starcrest!

This is a kennel. Not a dog spa. Dogs have heated/air conditioned indoor space and outdoor, too. They get a chance to play in the yard and get lots of love and attention from the staff. These folks know dogs. First rate. Our Maggie goes happily and comes home healthy and happy. Certainly recommend for people who want a kennel for a day, weekend or longer.

Apparently my 2 dogs enjoyed themselves, when it was time to go home - they went back and scratched at the kennel door to go in.

I am glad that I listened to the other Yelp reviewers as they were definitely on point. YELP came to the rescue when I was searching for a dog walker for the first time in my life. I was going to be away from my house for over 10 hours during a recent weekend and needed to have someone walk my Ethel in the evening. Enter Purrs & Grrrs. Because they are local, you don't have to worry about anyone getting stuck in traffic. They offer a free meet/greet and ask all the right questions. Even the registration form asked some very specific and needed questions. I was very impressed by the registration process and how easy everything was. Even paying them was easy as a client can pay by using the CASH app. Otherwise, checks/cash are accepted as well. I advised them of the different walking areas that I usually take Ethel and even areas to avoid (streets that sometimes has loose dogs from the neighbors). I also asked that if they crossed a particular busy street, that they carry Ethel as I don't trust the cars and their drivers. They totally understood all my concerns and took notes as well. After they walked Ethel, I would get a text with pictures and letting me know how everything went. Because of that, my mind was set at ease as Ethel was taken care of and enjoyed the walk (see the pictures) Don't look any further, you have found your dog walking service!! I promise you, you will not be disappointed. Without hesitation, I will use Purrs & Grrrs again.

From the moment I met her, I could tell this wasn't just a business--it is truly her passion. She has such a kind heart, an incredible work ethic, and a genuine love for animals that you can feel immediately. My standard poodle, Chewy, goes to daycare with Ally , and when we went to Hawaii for nine days, I never once worried about him. Instead of being kept in kennels, the dogs get to live together in a comfortable home environment. They can relax on dog beds, sleep on furniture, play together, and simply be dogs. It's such a refreshing and loving alternative to traditional boarding. One thing that meant the world to me was how often Ally kept me updated. Every morning and every evening she sent me photos and updates of Chewy having fun, relaxing, and making friends. Seeing those pictures while I was away gave me complete peace of mind and allowed me to truly enjoy my vacation, knowing he was happy, safe, and loved. I also love seeing how much thought she puts into making the dogs' days special. During the hot weather, she even sets up fun water play for them, and it's obvious from every picture that the dogs are having the time of their lives. Although I've only known Ally for a short time, I genuinely admire her. She is young, hardworking, compassionate, and has built something truly special. It's rare to find someone who cares this deeply about every dog in her care. Chewy absolutely loves going there, and I wouldn't hesitate for a second to leave him with Allie again. I recommend Ally's Boarding & Daycare wholeheartedly to anyone looking for a safe, loving, and happy place for their dog. Your pup will be treated like family, and that's something you simply can't put a price on. Thank you, Ally for taking such incredible care of Chewy. We are so grateful to have found you!

Lately, I've seen so many heartbreaking stories about doggy daycares: dogs getting hurt, neglected, escaping, or simply not being treated with the love they deserve. Every time I read one, my first thought is the same: thank God Nova has Ally and Travis. Nova has been coming here since he was just 6 months old. He's now about to turn 5, which means they've been part of nearly his entire life. They've watched him grow from a timid, reactive puppy into the confident, happy dog he is today. They know his quirks, his routines, what makes him nervous, what makes him excited, and they have loved every version of him along the way. As dog owners, we all know there are very few people we'd trust with our entire heart. That's what our dogs are. They're not just pets, they're family. And somehow Ally and Travis have earned a level of trust that I didn't even know was possible. I've left Nova with them for the longest periods I've ever left him with anyone, and I've never once laid awake wondering if he was okay. There has never been a moment where I questioned whether he was safe, loved, exercised, or cared for. That kind of peace is priceless, and if you're a dog parent, you know exactly what I mean. What means the most to me is that Nova makes the choice himself every single time. The second he realizes where we're going, he's beside himself with excitement. If he doesn't get to see Ally or Travis, he cries. When he does, he runs to them without looking back. As someone whose dog was once fearful of people, seeing him love someone that deeply tells me everything I need to know. Dogs don't fake trust. They don't pretend to feel safe. They either do, or they don't. Nova has never questioned whether Ally and Travis are his people. Over the years, they've been there through my work schedule, my vacations, family emergencies, and every moment in between. They have given me something I can never truly repay: the ability to go through life knowing that the biggest piece of my heart is safe. That feeling is something every dog parent hopes to find, and so few actually do. Even if life takes me somewhere else one day, if I'm ever back in town and need someone to watch Nova, there is no question where he's going. I would drive hours just to leave him with Ally and Travis because trust like this isn't replaceable. They're not just our daycare: they're part of Nova's family. If you're scrolling through reviews wondering whether this is the right place for your dog, I hope this helps. Five years later, after hundreds of drop-offs and pickups, I can say with complete confidence that choosing Ally and Travis was one of the best decisions I've ever made for Nova. They have loved him like he was their own, and I will spend the rest of his life being grateful for that.

In…read more2023/2024 I found the dog resort extremely helpful as a day time dog sitter for 4-6 hrs at a time. My dog didn't seem to mind it and always came back calmer so I decided to leave him here for 9 days while I went away for a trip. I don't recall the exact costs. Probably between 900-1100 dollars for daily walks and his home provided food. I asked the employees to put on his sweater at night. It wasn't a question it was a very important task they agreed to. He was a very small 8 pound yorkie and was always cold. When I came back my dog was not his normal self. That already made me highly suspicious about getting his walks. He was coughing a lot, not sleeping but also lethargic. I took him to the vet and he had pneumonia. Meaning, he was cold from day 1 and got worse for the remainder of his stay and I never got a call from here. From there he got sicker and sicker and I had to put him down. I was devastated and desperate to get him back to normal for months! I recommend people never leave their dogs in places like this. Sure you save money and they may or may not have company (depending on their personality) but you're better off vetting a dog sitter to check in or stay with your dog at home. In the end you may save yourself an onslaught of vet bills from trying to figure what is making your dog so ill when back from a trip. At least with an in home dog sitter they're more like to stay alive and healthy. If you have a small dog with specific needs get someone who can cater to your dog with love and care. I highly suggest NEVER leaving your dog for overnight or extended stays. I hate that it took me so long to post this but my grief was too strong to do it before. I wanted to sue, I wanted my money back, but I was so sad and I couldn't bring myself to do much other than focus on him and move on with my life. I'll never get another dog after this experience.
