this is my favorite restaurant in OC honestly! i highly recommend the spicy thai beef but everything i've ever had from cocktails to small plates to dessert (hello flourless chocolate cake!) has been phenomenal. also the service has always been on point and the food arrived quickly! i also love the vibes it's such a great setting for either a casual dinner or more dressed up. 10/10 read more

Perfect timing when checking in, willingness to handle any questions, the servers here are on their A-game, especially with larger parties. While the food may not be my typical cuisine type, there were options for me that weren't the seafood or sushi focus. The ribs were so tender and easily fell off the bone. We had an absolutely wonderful dinner last night at Starfish! Everything from the service to the food was excellent. Our server, Serenity, was warm, attentive, and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. We tried a few different sushi rolls and nigiri, all fresh and beautifully prepared, along with the pork bánh mì sliders and shrimp dumplings--both packed with flavor and perfectly cooked. You guys - I love this little restaurant for so many reasons. First, the food: the noodle dishes (chow mein, drunken noodles, etc.), the sushi, the sliders and buns, their main entrees... ALL DELICIOUS! Their food tastes so good and fresh. If you aren't a sushi fan, they have great hot items, if you prefer one Asian cuisine over another... great because they have Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, I mean a lot of different cuisines. Their happy hour is great for discounted cocktails I believe they're like $10 I forget but there's a lot on happy hour. If you're coming during a popular time I'd recommend a reservation because the restaurant is small. Otherwise if their tables are full you can always grab a seat at their bar. I've never had a bad meal here I thoroughly enjoy it every time I've eaten here! Staff very nice, too. read more

For cocktails, I had a lychee martini and my husband had the Thai me down which arrived pretty late since we were almost done with our appetizers. I must say I was hooked on their tasty food. I came here last Sunday night after work for some dinner. My go for drink is a Laguna Lemon Drop which is named after a beach town called Laguna Beach. Really good drink to get nowadays. Tasty. For dinner, I ordered a crispy lobster spring roll and shrimp dumplings. As soon I got my orders, it looks soooo good. I really love the presentation. For the spring roll, comes with 4 pieces, I took a bite, I was quite wow'd by the amazing flavors. Feels like I'm enjoying a rich and satisfying life just by eating the spring roll. Dumpling was stunning. Tasty and delicious. Even though portion size can be small, size isn't that important. What important is the quality of the meal which I expect from every single upscale restaurant. Yes, I'm very big on quality. Quality was excellent. That's what I want. My previous visit which was almost 2 months ago, I didn't get a chance to talk about it. But finally talking about it. I ordered crab wonton and Lobster Macadamia Roll. On my yelp review from 6 years ago (Laguna Beach), I talked about how great the Lobster Macadamia Roll were. It was sooo delicious. At this location, they never disappointed me one bit. Soooo good. Crab wonton was also good. It's something different to try once in a while. Service here was amazing. There's nothing like getting great service from the server and bartender. Now I've been in the restaurant industry for about 7 years. I look out for everything when it comes to great service and the respect to the customers. I wouldn't recommend coming here for any special occasions. It was really disappointing going for my birthday. I even noted it in the reservation, but none of the staff acknowledged it. When other guests arrived, we heard their server ask if they were celebrating anything, which made it even more disheartening. Kind of small restaurant/bar that we stumbled into on a Saturday night and was happy to be able to have dinner without reservations or too much waiting. But the table we were sat at basically blocked the waiters from being able to walk through the hallway very well Our waitress was young and super nice but for some reason didn't give us a picture of Water like every other table had so everything was spicy and I was thirsty. My husband ended up getting up and pouring some water in our cups. I only took one picture and it was the appetizer of muscles that was delicious! I let my husband order for me and he got me the seafood curry. He asked for them to make it as mild as possible. The waitress had already offered extra rice for the muscles. They were in a delicious sauce, so it was almost like I got two meals. I took my dinner leftovers home and we doctored it up with some more salmon and we shared it for dinner the following night. Place is nice and it seemed to be primarily sushi that people were ordering. There's so many restaurants in this area. It's hard to say that we would come back.
