I came here for breakfast. A local establishment that doesn't look like much but has good food.

I've driven by Latham's Diner several times whenever I've passed through Hudson Falls. This local…read morecountry restaurant serves up homecooked meals for breakfast and lunch and not to be confused with the Latham 76 Diner, located about an hour away in Latham, NY. I picked up a copy of their menu from almost a couple years ago and the prices were very good and cheap. The updated menu prices here are still pretty reasonable, but have risen (most items by about a $1 more) and coffee is no longer included with breakfast specials like before. The most expensive menu items are $6.95 plus tax, pricing very competitive to another nearby "diner." Breakfast menu offerings include egg dishes, omelets, breakfast sandwiches, pancake, French toast, fried bread dough, cereal, homefries, bagels, muffins, and other breakfast sides. Lunch menu offerings and daily specials include soups, salads, chili, burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, fish frys, clam rolls, fried sides, comfort dishes (ie. goulash, meatloaf, chicken & biscuits, fajitas...) and desserts (pies, rice pudding, ice cream). I stopped in here for weekend breakfast recently. The place has a very casual and laid back atmosphere and it's seat yourself at an open table or at the counter. The place was pretty quiet when I arrived here around noontime with a group of seniors having breakfast a few tables over. The waitress promptly arrived and offered me coffee. The coffee ($1.25) had a weird taste, but otherwise just right. For breakfast, the Sausage Gravy over Biscuits ($4.95) was served very hot. This breakfast dish was very filling and slightly salty/sweet tasting. The hot gravy was very milky with plenty of big chunks of soft ground sausage over two soft biscuits with a dry texture inside. The food was okay. The service was pleasant and prompt and I was also offered another cup of coffee as I finished up.

This warm cocktail was a total delight and absolutely hit the spot. We started with the house bread. I know it sounds like "just bread," but the texture was perfect, and the ricotta honey spread paired with it nicely. For entrées, I had the chicken schnitzel. It was crispy and well-executed, and the beurre blanc was silky and rich. I think it would have been even better with spaetzle, but the portion size was generous on its own--I'm just a starch girlie. My husband ordered the bolognese, which was flavorful and came in a healthy portion. He ended up taking some home, which we love because leftovers are never a bad thing. For dessert, we shared the pot de crème. The balance of caramel, saltiness, and chocolate was the perfect finish. The chocolate was rich and smooth. I also loved the décor--it was such a pleasant surprise to find a place like this in South Glens Falls.

We discovered Morgan & Co. a couple of years ago and it's been one of our go-to places ever since. I'd read about Mint and people liked it a lot so we went there for brunch/lunch a few days ago. It did not disappoint. We had the opportunity to check it out following a wake in Queensbury. Our drinks were very good. My Limoncello Spritzer really hit the spot. My husband was delighted that his Bloody Mary did not include any olives (lol). However, $18 is steep for tomato juice, folks. We shared the Brussel Sprouts as a Starter. Both of us ordered the Crab and Scallop Cake Benny which was topped with hollandais, served on a bed of arugula and accompanied by tasty potatoes. Absolutely delicious! Our server was very nice. She seemed to be handling a lot of the tables and managed it well. We were not rushed nor did we feel neglected. It's a small place, cozy and welcoming. Love the china. There is a parking lot and also street parking. The menu is limited. If you have fussy eaters, you may want to check it out online before making a reservation (which is recommended). I would have given them 4-1/2 but the system doesn't allow it. We will definitely return.

We walked past Farmacy's window and one of the chefs gave a friendly wave. We stopped in (had eaten there before) and prepared ourselves for a sure to be delicious meal. They have a fun frequently changing menu of small, medium and large plates so you can choose your own foodie adventure. If you want to sit at the bar you get a great view of the chefs at work preparing your meal. If you want a cozier experience, sit in the comfortable seating in the rear of the restaurant. Our server was very attentive but chill and knowledgeable. We got the Utica greens to share as an appetizer, a cocktail and Mad Max local beer, then a burger with hand cut fries and a chicken stuffed poblano. Dessert was a passion fruit chocolate tart which we took to go. If you're looking for well crafted food with a creative twist, this place is a great choice. North country friendly and approachable with a sophisticated set of offerings. Some really unique cocktails too. Not a boring thing on the menu.

The original Sullivan's Diner was at this same location many years ago with a storied history on their website. This space has been home to other eateries over the years including the Country Corner Café, Phat Chicks Corner Café and The Corner Diner. Sullivan's Diner serves up traditional American fare and comfort foods. The breakfast offerings include eggs, pancakes, French toast, breakfast burritos, breakfast sandwiches, homemade corned beef hash, and breakfast sides. Lunch/Dinner selections include burgers, deli sandwiches, hot sandwiches, club sandwiches, wraps, hot dogs, fish fry, clam fry, soups, and salads. The prices seem reasonable. There is table seating near the front window, booths along the wall and counter seating to the left. The cashier stand is near the front door. Bill was also here chatting with customers. I stopped by Sullivan's Diner recently for lunch. The place slightly busy early afternoon and I could sit anywhere I wanted. I was quickly told they ran out of corned beef hash after sitting down and given a menu. I ordered the Fish Fry Basket ($12.95 plus tax) with an ice water. There was a large party ahead of me still waiting for their food. My order was served to me in about 20 minutes. The fish basket was a good portion of hand breaded and deep fried crisp piece of cod, hand cut golden fries (lightly salted), tartar sauce and a small cup of slaw. The food was a bit greasy, and very hot and tasty. I was given the check afterwards, which was $13.86 with tax and before tip. I will definitely have to take another ride over here for breakfast!
