We got coupons mailed to us from Starvin Marvin and decided to give it a try. Other than being a tad bit pricey, it was well worth it! We got our pizza delivered and it came fairly quickly as well as being very hot like it had just come out of the oven. The staff that we called into were very helpful and the delivery driver was nice as well. We'll definitely be ordering from them again! Steak and cheese here is pretty good and the french fries, tater tots and onion rings are all pretty good too. They also have a pretty good delivery range. Sometimes the employees can be rude on the phone though so I would recommend just placing an order online. read more

I use to frequent this shop often. However, I have not been there for about 6 months and today was a big disappointment!!! Without the owner there (from Philly) my cheese steak was really wrong. They DO still give you lots of meat, but the bun is the problem!!! No longer are they using the crusty, thin rolls, but now use soft very bready rolls!!! Too much bun, and no crunchy outside. I've never been her before and was looking for a late night fix and with nothing being open after midnight i decided to give this place a go. To my surprise they answered my phone almost instantly and asked if I've ordered here before. They guided me thru the menu and helped on picking the ultimate Steak And Cheese sub. This was and i quote "THE BOMB". It was everything i hoped it to be and more they made it within ten min and being two min before close i was relieved that they weren't angered upon the late call. Total failure! Maybe I was too excited, with expectations that were too high.I unfortunately expected the telephone order to be taken correctly, FAIL! With that in mind, after 40 minutes I expected my order to be ready for pickup, FAIL! With these two in mind I actually expected the gentleman at the counter to not only recognize his mistake, but fix it, FAIL & FAIL! At this point, I can adequately write this review! Now, we found this place near my job that would deliver to us! We always make big orders for everyone. The two times I have ordered, I had a cheeseburger and tater tots and a gyro and French fries! There are huge portions for their food! Honestly, it should be, a side order of tater tots is $3.50!!! I usually share with a coworker because there are so many! But the burger I had, was delicious! For a carryout burger, it was juicy and full of flavor! I devoured that burger! I also ordered the gyro on a more recent order! It came highly recommended by a coworker. Let me tell you, it was so good! The pita was fresh and the lamb and beef was so juicy and flavorful! I thoroughly enjoyed both items I ordered here! If you order a burger and fries, it may run you about $15, but the portions are huge and the flavors are on point! Second time ordering delivery, I will say it is a bit pricey but worth it. I order a combo two subs (buffalo chicken cheese sub) that came with a large fry and a liter soda. For around 21 dollars. Delivery fee on grub hub is 5 bucks so in total it came to about 29 dollars. Food always comes hot . Fries are delicious (old bay fries). And deliver time is Okay but fine regarding I'm about 20 minutes away from the restaurant so I dont mind the wait. But overall a great experience after all. Thanks read more

So disappointed. I grew up eating Starvin Marvin, so I was looking forward to devouring it when I came back to visit Gaithersburg. I initially called to place my delivery order, but after waiting in hold for 5 minutes, I just used the yelp app to order, which was pretty quick and easy (hence 2 instead of 1 star). My food arrived quickly, but to my utter distress, my old bay fries were not included! I mentioned this to the delivery driver, who said he could not confirm my order because the receipt was in the car. He then ran off (not literally, but he walked away quickly--I'm sure he had a delivery quota to meet). Not his problem anyways, I guess. So, I called the restaurant directly, and was put on hold twice before a man finally came on the line to confirm that I was indeed right...they forgot my fries. He then quickly hung up. I was left to ponder the mystery, "am I being reimbursed or are they sending the fries"? Granted, in the grand scheme of life, these are not important things to wonder, but when you're pregnant and looking forward to old bay fries, you do ponder these types of things... Anywhoo, 20 min later when there was no delivery and no refund on my card, I called back to see what was going on. Again after being placed on hold, a voice told me to "calm down" the food is 5 min away. Whoooa nelly! Did you just say that? I wasn't even upset at this point. I had my steak and cheese, which was good, but not as yummy as I remembered (the cheese didn't taste quite right). I also had my side salad (to meet the minimum delivery order of $12 and to make me feel better about the steak and cheese with fries meal---don't judge yelpers!) Anyhoo, cold soggy fries finally arrived, and all was well--except I obviously won't ever order from Starvin Marvin again. I'll leave this establishment with my good childhood memories though. We called as soon as we realized they were missing, and 30 minutes later we still hadn't received them. We called again, and they said that they were just sending them out. Just had the Family Meal Deal and was pretty darn good, the price of $39.00 was at least 1 star, the food a strong 3.5 stars, extra lg pizza (pretty good) was extra cheesy, the 2 cheese steaks (pretty well stuffed), a dozen hot wings (ehh) and a 2 ltr of coke fed 5 adults and 1 child easily.. Overall a good find, good eats and a great price! Worth a try! Great if you love bread better than anything. Tuna triple-decker came with the surprise additions of bacon and more cheap American cheese. The hospital I work at orders from here ALL THE TIME. They get so much business from us. BUT their customer service is absolutely terrible. Orders are ALWAYS wrong, and when you call to get the missing items (that you were charged for) they say "oh I didn't hear you say that." The food isn't good, its the only place that is open late so when you work overnight you really have no choice. The guy who answers the phone always acts like he can't hear you and never understands the order. I would never recommend this place to my worst enemy. Terrible! Terrible! Place 6 orders today over $75. worth of food. Once of the orders was inaccurate. Called @ approximately 1:10pm and spoke to John about the inaccurate order and was told I needed to speak to the manager. Manu, who represented himself as the manager came to the phone and was very arrogant, unprofessional and belligerent. Never once apologizing for cheating me out a meal or for his or his staff's inaccuracy. When informed of the error, Manu proceeded to tell me "we're very busy and don't have the time." He was informed that I am a customer as well and that he needed to be respectful and pay attention to my request. When informed that I wished to have my order replaced, I was told by him that it would take two hours for it to arrive. He was informed that he needed to have it replaced and delivered within an hour or refund my money. He agreed to it delivered within an hour and hang up the phone. THE ORDER NEVER ARRIVED AND I WAS NOT REFUNDED!!! The food is okay and much improvement is needed. Customer is much to be desired. This is a Better Business case and definitely a lawsuit. In addition, I will be reporting the establishment to DHMH. Lets see how accurate they are with food temperate, cleanliness and if their staff is documented to be in the U.S. DO NOT BUY!!!! read more

As I'm about to order my favorite Greek salad for lunch from this place today, I decided to finally write a review. Starvin Marvin's is definitely not the prettiest of pizza joints but they've never disappointed me food-wise. I've had the pizza here several times, they have a great special where if you buy 1 pizza, you get the second for $6 - doesn't matter the size or number of toppings! (they also have extra large pizzas which are good for sharing with a bunch of friends) They're open pretty late all week and on the weekend which is super convenient for those of us who to like to eat late sometimes. The menu is pretty extensive and there is a lot I have yet to try but in general their wraps/sandwiches are good and I LOVE getting their Greek salad. It's just under $8 I believe and it is HUGE. They pack the container to the brim with lettuce, tomato, onions, feta cheese, cubed green peppers and pepperoncini. I'd also recommend adding chicken if you're really hungry! read more

I am a loyal customer from the original owners now to the new ones who were apart of the original team from all that time. Whenever I visited Gaithersburg I would always stop in and they would remember my order. Now I'm so happy I live near there location again. I love their subs so much and I have ordered from them for years! However, their customer service is BEYOND HORRIBLE. Every time I call to order the guy on the phone is so rude and I almost want to hang up every time. This last time was the last straw for me. I asked for no mayo and at the end of the call I just wanted to make sure he understood I did not want mayo on the sub (because they have gotten wrong in the past and I was not happy) he responds very rudely saying "I know!
