We stayed away from the buffet and ordered off the menu. We started with the onion rings, and they were delicious. We then ordered the hamburgers. They were absolutely delicious. The only change I wish they would make, instead of the long sliced pickles, I wish they put round hamburger dill pickles on the hamburger. It made the hamburger harder to handle. This is about the buffet. Yeah. It's $25 a person. East coast people... let me save you some money. It ain't no Golden Corral. We actually looked around the corner to see if there were more food options. It's pretty basic. We are from New Jersey and travel the east coast quite a bit. Great selections of seafood! My 14 year old son said that the little red crawfish/crawdads... were BETTER at Hibachi Grill where they also have a buffet. HG is in South Plainfield, NJ. They lack flavor. The frogs legs were apparently pretty good according to my husband and son. Chicken tenders were pretty dry. No dipping sauces. My favorite thing was the rolls. They were tiny square hard rolls. Butter was soft at least. Fish was ok. We picked this place because of the reviews mentioning great hillarious staff! We never encountered or hears ANY of that near our table! If anything, this place is all hype! My husband and son agree that it is "edible" and "mid" at best. My suggestion is that if you have to go here, just order off the menu. I normally don't write reviews but I felt compelled after my experience at Brandon Starvin Marvin's. we entered the restaurant with high expectations based on there web page. oh boy were we suprised! The food on the buffet literally looked like left overs from the day before. The meat were dried out the vegetables were soggy looking! So we thought ok, we will try som off the menu , I ordered the tenderloin sandwich with fries my wife ordered a grill chicken sandwich. The sandwiches were mediocre at best and the fries tasted like dirty grease. as we were trying to eat , a kitchen worker approached the buffet with a cart and start removing and putting some items on the buffet, he had do gloves or beard guard on as he handled the food in between wiping his noise with the back of his hand. He was intermittently eating off the buffet during this time and more then once I observed him pick food up off the side of the buffet and put it back on the buffet with his bare fingers. I sure hope he wasn't the concentrate cooked our sandwiches. We got our bill and the prices on the bill were different than on the menu ( higher) by this time we'd seen enough we paid and left never to return again! Arrived and was promptly seated. Waitress came over and we ordered iced tea to start and crawfish tails as an appetizer. My tea glass went empty snd then the waitress came over and said that they did. It have any crawfish tails and wanted us to go ahead and order our meal. While we were waiting for the appetizer to come out, I personally observed a server go to the buffet and take a bowl and he scooped out some of the cobbler and took it to a customer. I am in the food service industry and it is an absolute no-no to take food from the buffet table and serve it to menu ordering customers. Yes, he did it. With that being said, we decided that we would go as we were very concerned that a portion of our meal would be pulled off of the buffet table and served to us. The buffet table was pretty stacked up and there really was not a lot of people ordering the buffet. So, the server left to get our ticket. During the recent Christmas season, The Kid wanted to go to Branson, again. First morning out, our usual breakfast buffet place had a hugely long line, and I was in no mood to wait until lunchtime to eat breakfast so we set out for another option, which led to Marvin's. After a short wait, we were seated and drink orders taken by a pleasant server. In fact, everyone there was pretty pleasant. The buffet, while reasonably well stocked was just overall bland. It was like nothing had very much flavor. Nothing was bad, just bland and insipid. The Boiled Shrimp was so salty it was not consumable, I don't know how you could even get that much salt in an item. It actually swelled our lips. Very impressed with the food and service 04/19/25! We are from KY and first time in Branson, as well as at Starvin Marvin's. We had a very bad experience earlier today with a company that claims they are not a "time share". The company promised us a restaurant voucher that included this restaurant, and when we arrived at SM's... waitress self-referred to as "Crazy Stacy" politely explained that the paper voucher I had was not acceptable. I immediately called the "non-travel agency's" phone number on speaker phone (while standing in the middle of the restaurant). Another SM employee walked up behind me and asked what the problem was. I explained, as the agent was still on the phone. The woman on the phone (Ann) said she'd fix the voucher, but I had to come pick it up. Starving and standing there frustrated (as it was already 2:30pm and none of us had eaten anything for the day yet), the other employee quickly volunteered to run over to their office and pick up the corrected voucher for us! Ann said that was fine, and the SM employee (Duaine) said he'd be happy to go pick it up while allowing us to go ahead and eat, without messing up our meal. I was supper surprised, and greatful for his offer. My family and I proceeded to sit, and ordered our drinks. About 20 minutes later, Duaine returned with a smile on his face and handed me the fixed voucher. At the end of our meal, our waitress told us that the super nice man that went above and beyond for us was actually the restaurant owner! Once again, I was blown away at the kindness and service provided by everyone working there. Not to mention, food was great. I recommend the Bkackened Fish Tacos. Thank you to everyone there! Firstly, the service was alright, the waitress made an unfunny joke which isn't terrible, just ruined the vibe. She also brought her unwarranted opinion on controversial topics. Now onto the food. The food was most definitely the worst food i've ever had in my entire life. The buffet was slim pickings, and the food was VERY unseasoned and cold. The fettuccine alfredo with crab was absolutely inedible. The restaurant clearly used powdered parmesan cheese. Besides the food, a dead fly inhabited our table. Unrelated to myself, the man at the table beside me had something from the ceiling fall into his drink which in turn, caused him to send his drink back to be remade. Also, the food was terribly overpriced. Lastly, each table had a bottle of "Slap Ya Mama" seasoning, PLEASE UTILIZE THIS. You will certainly need to do your own seasoning. read more

Starvin Marvin's is like the Sunday daytime squad of strippers: God love 'em, they aren't the best in town but they still show up and try for Pete's sake. Branson is turning out to be way more expensive than I thought simply because A) Apparently "wholesome family entertainment" means "only white folks please" (I've seriously not seen a brotha or sista the ENTIRE TWO DAYS HERE...NOWHERE....It's like a weird sequel to "Get Out" in which everyone of color actually gets the hell out) B) THIRTEEN PERCENT TAX ON EVERYTHING! Are you fracking kidding me? That's like having another child I didn't want who does no manual labor...he's just a damn mooch! You don't stop and kiss the Texas grass you walk on with that 8.25% we rock until you come here and get the check. DAYYYUMMM. It's good, but in that "she's naked with a c-section scar" kind of way. You are just glad you got to eat here. It's not the greatest or worst. Most everything is fried and the big draw is crab legs. They were really over cooked but apparently the people of Branson don't ever leave Branson because they think crab legs are lobsters or something and charge outrageous amounts. It's cheapest here and there's a coupon, but damn...Brandon folks need to travel more. It's ok.
