Review is from 01/21/2015 - Three of us came here Thursday night about 8:15pm (They close at 9pm) and I couldn't be happier with my first experience here... We ordered a couple of beer flights and a single poor or a sour beer he had on tap (my new thing). Everything was amazing... Patrick took the time to walk us through each beer and answered all the questions we had about the wide variety of beers he has in stock. My husband loves this place because it has a great selection of craft beers, and he enjoys the atmosphere, and finds Patrick very helpful and personable. I have yet to step foot in the shop, but my husband loves to go for a pint after work and comes home very happy and relaxed! Patrick even sent my husband home with a few beers for me to try. I just moved to the area last weekend and after looking at the very helpful website that lists all the beers that they actually really have in stock I thought I better go check this place out... I think I've found my new favorite beer store. No they don't have as many beers as total wine or bevmo but that's because they trimmed off all the fat and selected only the best beers. I hate shopping and looking all over a store for something and spending all day doing it. I'm a guy. I just want to go in grab what I came for and go hm and enjoy. This place makes it that simple with their alphabetized beer coolers. If you love craft brew you gotta come try this place out. read more

This place couldn't offer a better way to get into craft beer. Patrick is extremely passionate and knowledgeable about the items he serves in his shop. From beer, to wine, cheese, and even ice cream the crafted items he selects within his shop have never disappointed. He changes his tastings every month and his knowledge behind those beers and the breweries are astounding. He could teach a course in college about this stuff! So many bottles and rare craft beers he offers in his refrigerated selection. He has even let us try the bottle right there in the shop! It's just a gem of a place with great craft beer offerings. I have no clue why it's taken so long to write this review. We've been coming here for quite a while now, almost 2 years? It seems like the one place everyone in the neighborhood has been to and agrees that it's amazing. And deservedly so. If you're in the mood to have some awesome craft beers that you've probably never tried, this is the place. Patrick has a revolving flight of beers and ciders that change fairly regularly and come from some great and unique breweries. That's not the kicker though. This is a bottle shop. The great thing is that aside from getting a flight you can cruise the store and choose from a selection of some of the best American made craft beers you'll find anywhere. On top of that, the other half of the store is full of snacks, coffees, chocolates, charcuterie, and cheeses to pair with any of the bottles that you like. Great service, killer product! This is my favorite place to drop by in the neighborhood. What a gem. read more

I live a block away from this place. And, I am a huge beer fan. Love to try new stuff. Always looking for my next favorite beer. The huge bummer with this place is that they don't put prices on any of the beers. In a scenario where the customer is thinking about purchasing something they've never had before, there are only a few things to consider. Price is one of them. I like to support small local business but....man...not if it means I have to ask the manager the price of every beer I may want to try. read more

This is the epitome of a cool neighborhood beer store, and I am beyond excited that it might be in MY neighborhood now! About 5 coolers worth of beer selection, so although it's not huge, it's pretty varied and well-thought out, with an emphasis on ciders. The owner seems pretty knowledgeable about everything he sells (there's also about 6 on rotating taps) and is happy to give recommendations. Best of all was the clientele while we were in Stateside! It's a small seating area, but there were 6-8 folks in the whole time we were there. Everybody that came in introduced themselves and SHARED THEIR BEERS! It was adorable. (PS, no worries about germs because the staff keeps your bottle under the counter and refills your glass as necessary). And since Bryan A. and I were looking at homes in the area, everybody was anxious to talk about the neighborhood and give us recommendations. Perfect spot. Some people come in, get their rare and hard-to-find beers and leave. But some (ME) stick around, sit in their taproom and indulge. You can get a sampler of their beers on tap, or buy a bottle and sit. Every time I go, I find myself in amazing conversation with Patrick the owner, Peter the beertender, or one of the locals. Conversation is a lost art and I enjoy it immensely here. And If you are a serious beer drinker, they get beers that you cannot get anywhere. Come check it out! read more

This place is awesome. I wish I lived closer because i'd be here every day drowning my lil liver with delicious craft beers. I came here looking to try new beers and to learn about them. Not a lot of places inform you about the beers they serve. You get to try flights of selected beers for a really good price. I love the seating area. The gentlemen was so nice and friendly. After serving my flight of beers, he took the time to educate me on each of them. You can tell he was passionate about the art of craft beers! I loved how each beer was different and I could taste exactly what the gentlemen had described to me. They also sell snacks. I got the drunk munchies and bought some beef jerky and these delicious cookies. The snacks paired well with the beers. My experience was perfect. Excellent customer service and great brews. Love, love, love this place. What's not to love? Not only does Stateside Crafts feature a fun beer tasting room (ample seating near the back of the store), but the store is absolutely loaded with snacks, goodies, beers, and wines. Oh, and then there's Patrick. This. Guy. Knows. His. Shite. about beers AND wines. My husband and I stopped by a couple of nights ago and I bought a bottle of an interesting and reasonably priced bottle of white wine. I was "going to bring it with me" to a party this weekend. Full disclosure: The wine didn't make it that far, it was opened this evening and well enjoyed. It was one of the best white wines I've had in a loooong time. Too often, the pursuit of craft beer devolves into walking through the aisles of over-stocked liquor stores whose clueless staff stay behind the counter while you try to decide what to get; once you (finally!) make a choice (using RateBeer or BeerAdvocate and whatever past experience to sort out the inevitable mediocre options that fill out the shelves of any standard liquor store, no matter how "specialized"), the cashier rings you up and looks the bottle over--s/he might ask about it if it is a particularly expensive or unusual brew, but ultimately s/he don't really care so much whether your incipient buyer's remorse is going to nag at you when you get home and pour a flat or otherwise not-quite-right beer--or, even if things go right, when you enjoy the same piney hop-bomb or fig-laden old ale for the fifth time, because it was simply easier to go with the tried and true. They change their beer tasting list monthly and he owners are great and easy to chat with.
