This is the second time I've used Steady Flow. Justin was super helpful, friendly, and arrived exactly on time (what a treat! A company that values my time too!). Justin looked at the issue, offered several quick fixes and made some suggestions we can do without needing expensive repairs. To be sure, when I do need any plumbing help in the future (because with a house it's always "when" not "if") you can bet Steady Flow will be my first - and probably only - call. Just as a side note - I had two other plumbers come out to review the same issue. One said it would cost $1000K+ to fix, the other recommended replacing our 6 year old water heater (which is working fine btw). Many small plumbing companies are being bought up by private equity firms, which push expensive and unnecessary repairs or products to pad their bottom line. Steady Flow had the most affordable quote of all the companies I had spoken with. They were quick to put me on the schedule, clearly informed, and helpful with any questions I had. They had serviced other units in my neighborhood as well so they knew the lay of the land. The only reason I gave one star less is because I had expressed concern over a leak during the initial quote. After I had hired them and they came to do the job, they mentioned it would cost extra to fix the leak when I was under the impression the quote I signed up for included fixing that leak. They met me in the middle and only charged for the cost of the new part they had to buy but I wish they had acknowledged it the day they came to give me the initial quote so I could be prepared for the extra cost. Steady flow was very responsive to my gutter drain issue. Unfortunately, not great options to clear corrugated pipe. High powered hydro-jetting can easily damage this pipe, low powered jetting may not be strong enough to clear it. Cost to just try the low powered jetting with no gurantee of success was not appealing so I did not move forward. We had a pretty big and difficult job. The estimates we received from Steady Flow Sewer Drain for the 1st and 2nd task were professional, and we received them in a timely manner. We got 3 bids and Steady Flow was more competitive than others. However, the problem started at the 3rd and final task. They suggested new work that was somewhat unnecessary. After we removed it, they emailed us an unprofessional ONE sentence estimate -- the language of all the necessary procedures were not included in that estimate. After plenty of back and forth emails, the final task was scheduled and done. Overall, we are just thankful that big headache is finally behind us and hope it's behind us for good! P.S. Had the best experience with this company. I messaged them at 10pm and got a response within 5 minutes. Our garbage disposal stopped working and our sink was clogged. They said someone can come out and check it in the next morning! Kyle came out at 9:30am and checked our issue and literally took him less than 15 mins to fix. We had a "fun" surprise leak found where our water line met the main and they were able to come through and get everything dug up and a new line installed in less than 8 hours at a price that didn't make me think about having to sell an organ. TL;DR Hire Dan and his team if you want someone who is communicative, efficient, does the job right, and goes above and beyond. He's also great at explaining your plumbing issues and how he plans to fix the problems, along with recommendations on ways to cut costs on future work. This is helpful for someone who has zero knowledge about plumbing but wants to understand what's going on. 100% would rehire! The detailed version... Had a clogged drain at the washer and water was backing up into the laundry sink. Originally hired a different plumber to clear the clog but the project kept ballooning and I had to stop the work because I wasn't sure if the updates were necessary. They had made several cuts into the main drain line, too, so in addition to a clogged drain we also had a leaky drain. Found Steady Flow, spoke with Dan and they were willing to come out to give a free estimate and second opinion on the work. I hadn't made up my mind whether to continue with the original plumber or go with Steady Flow. After Dan gave his assessment and explained what he would do to fix the issues the right way, it was clear as day and a no brainer to have Dan finish the work. Their pricing was also competitive--not the cheapest but also not exorbitant like some other quotes we got, so it made me feel like their pricing was fair. The entire process while working with Dan and his team made me feel so at ease. I mentioned things that the previous plumber said and Dan gave me his honest opinion on the right way to fix it, but also gave different options on pricing if I only wanted to fix certain portions of the drain. We decided to replace the main drain line with fixes to multiple connection spots that were done incorrectly from a previous renovation, and install a pressure reducing valve with a shutoff. He also fixed the slope of the drain to improve water flow. Dan was communicative throughout the 1.5 day project, letting me know when water or sink would be unavailable. He's also very transparent; showed me conditions of my old pipes and his recommendations for future fixes and what to do to save money. Him and his team were fast, efficient, and knew I worked from home so tried their best to minimize disruption. For someone like me who doesn't know anything about plumbing but wants to understand the work, Dan was patient and explained everything so well, which gave me peace of mind if I ever needed to troubleshoot. This outfit was top notch!. I had another plumber out in the morning because I had fluid in the basement going to my septic tank. The first plumber scoped and gave me a $22000 estimate to fix the problem by replacing the pipe from the house to the septic tank. The plumber came out and wanted to scope to determine the problem himself. He would not charge for the scoping. He concluded that with so much fluid in the line he could not determine the exact fix. He suggested that the tank be pumped and he would come back and rescue it. After getting the tank pumped, the plumber rescued; found the 75 year old concrete pipe from house to septic tank to show its age and the cast iron pipe in the basement floor showing some age as well. All of which was pictured and shown to me. He suggested sleeving both for $3800 which I intend to do. He would not charge me for the second scope and anyalysis. Great customer service! read more
