Was treated to dinner here and it was top tier. The atmosphere is stunning - great lighting, sleek lines, refined table settings and pristine open kitchens. We walked in at 7:30 without reservations and were seated right away, despite the restaurant looking rather full (it's enormous!). They started us with a bowl of buttery rolls. They were reminiscent of Pillsbury crescent dough, but still a nice touch. We started with a couple of colossal shrimp, which were amazing! Huge prawns with delicious sauces. I loved the creamy mustard, which was a nice surprise. My companion had a bone in ribeye, which was cooked to perfection and so flavorful. He also had the truffle fries, which he enjoyed but weren't my favorite. I had the scallops, which had a beautiful sear and came with a nice sauce. The portion was very generous - 6 jumbo scallops. Sweet and well prepared. The corn brûlée was an unexpected hit and a great accompaniment to both the scallops and steak. The Sauv Blanc that was recommended was delicious and crisp and a little grassy - and also a generous pour - but the food was so good, I barely stopped to sip it. The service was perfection - polite, attentive, friendly. Waters were always full, plates cleared efficiently and table scraped clean. We finished our meals with no room for dessert, but they brought out four delectable chocolate chip cookies for the road. Made a reservation for my girlfriend's birthday and throughout the whole experience, everyone was saying happy birthday and greeting her using her name. The whole experience felt personal and warm. We were quickly seated in a lovely dim lit dining area ( you could adjust your lamp's brightness). I ordered the dry aged rib eye while she ordered the grass fed NY steak. For our sides. We ordered the whipped potatoes, calamari and also the artichoke purée side. All the sides came out perfect and the steak was cooked to perfection (medium rare of course). The bread they served was very buttery and soft. They allowed my girlfriend to choose any dessert in the house and we went with the triple chocolate mousse. You can tell everything was made in house from scratch. We also ordered drinks were crafted very well. They did not hold off on the liquor. The restaurant itself is huge, a bar in the front area and back and tons of table seating. The chicken fried lobster tail is our favorite appetizer, the bread is fresh and soft, drinks are served with fresh ingredients and are fantastic. My martini came with the shaker still half full. The steaks are made perfectly to your request and the sides are served to your table side. Steak 48 was a very uneven experience for me. The good is a perfectly cooked and flavorful steak. The bad was the music choice and lighting. I will note that I didn't realize we were seated for dinner in the bar area which might be why. The music was this odd pop and oldies mix which didn't match with the higher end ambience. I saw about 3 groups take out their phones for light to read the menu--small print and packed with lots of words. The seating is tight and the menu is this huge, doublesided wooden board which knocked over a cocktail at our table and a plate on someone else's table. I overall enjoyed Steak 48, but for the price tag they need some improvements. The biggest joke is the $10 valet parking in THE parking lot. I get they want to create a luxurious experience, but look at your location. I heard a few other parties snickering about it as they walked out as well. We went to celebrate a birthday. They had a pre-made birthday card at the table and then offered a free dessert which was a ice touch, especially when you spend about $900 for 4 people. read more

Finally a high end place that's actually worth the money. The experience to price ratio checked out. The inside is dimly lit and very beautiful. Right off the bat they were very attentive. Acknowledged our anniversary, which so many places don't care to do anymore. We got a comped dessert with a "happy anniversary" message on the plate. It was very sweet! The food was great also. The free bread to start off was very good. The crispy shrimp appetizer was to die for! I don't even like shrimp, but i couldn't stop eating it here. The steak & sides were also delicious. The ambiance at this restaurant is top notch. It has valet parking with all the nice expensive toys in the parking. There was 3 attractive hosts to greet you and take u to ur table. The bathroom was immaculate even had a bidet. Our waitress was very thoughtful and nice. For this place to be a steakhouse the steak was horrible. They use some type of dry rub which made the steak very salty. My plate came out at 500° which made steak dry and the plate was popping grease at me. We ordered sides, which were very good and delicious but coming to a high-end steakhouse. You would expect the steak to taste good not just the sides. I am giving four stars because they did take off my sides because the steak was not good so I definitely want to give them four stars. I do recommend them changing their dry rub. read more

Taylor is an amazing server who knows the way I prefer my meal, 500 degree hot plate, and can remember the type of caviar we prefer. It's my favorite go to spot when in town and eating with friends. Don't come if you are worried about spending $500 for two. It will only stress you out. Many of the bad reviews are really about price. Again, please do yourself a favor and save the stress if you worry about the costs. This is not the kind of place you should go if you cannot afford caviar or think paying $500 for 2 people is too much. That is not including tip. If you are worried about paying for valet, please don't stress yourself and actually eat inside because when the bill comes you will just feel stress. Why do that? Came here for a birthday celebration and I think this has to be my new favorite steak place in town. I got the filet mignon, jumbo shrimps and oysters, Caesar salad, and different sides. If you want something heavy to go with your food, I recommend the potato gratin and creme brûlée corn. Wow, so flavorful and rich! The corn was sweet, savory, and creamy while the potatoes were perfectly soft and cheesy with a crispy top! The steak is seasoned nicely not too salty and not too bland. I got the petite filet mignon and I still couldn't even finish it. Service was amazing. They were so attentive and even gave us free dessert on them! I went to steak 48 for an office party. I got the superfood, prime rib, and caramel cake. The service was amazing and great. The superfood salad was amazing. I'm not into salad but this changed my mind. The leaves were bitter but with the vinaigrette on it. It's absolute perfection. The prime rib was well seasoned, well cooked, and melts in your mouth. I crave it the next day. The caramel cake with the vanilla gelato was also amazing. The sweetness left a mark in my stomach for more. Stopped by Steak 48 on a Sun. night at 5 pm to celebrate my significant others milestone birthday. We have an ill dog at home that we don't want to leave for any significant amount of time, so we specifically made the reservations for an early hour hoping we could get in and out but still enjoy a nice dinner. We had never been to Steak 48 despite living in the area, we typically go to Ruths Chris, but figured we would try something different. Big disappointment! I asked for a QUIET table for 2 when I made the reservations, and we were seated directly under a speaker that was literally *blasting* hip hop (I kid you not!) music and then later on teen pop type of music. This, despite Steak 48 trying to give off an image of an upscale, classic steakhouse, with a sign requesting men wear sport coats and women dress appropriately at the front door, and the fact that almost all the other customers in the place on a Sunday at 5 pm were well over 60 years old. I immediately asked our server to please ask to have the music turned down, I could not hear any of the specials he listed, nor could I even hear my partner sitting right next to me, despite having perfect hearing. It was just so loud and distracting and inappropriate I could not believe it. Our waiter came back a few minutes later and let us know he asked to have the volume lowered. As he then starting reciting the specials or surf and turf options again, it was very obvious the volume was NOT lowered even a little. He interrupted himself to go ask whomever (bartender? manager?) again to lower the music. We have now been sitting there over 20 min. and seriously wondering if we should just leave. The waiter, Devan, came back to our table and took our drink order and while we were looking over the menu, my partner even remarked the music was still annoyingly loud, not to mention the type of music that was playing was completely unsuitable and in fact offensive for the caliber of steak house and prices reflected on the menu. By the time Devan returned with our drinks, I am pretty sure he knew we were about to leave due to the music. We are not complainers, and I actually do not ever recall being bothered by the type of or volume of music in any upscale restaurant we have ever been to. I asked Devan if we could move to another area of the restaurant which might be more quiet, and he said the music was everywhere, in every room, at the same volume. He disappeared again and FINALLY the music was actually lowered. We wanted to order a nice glass of Napa cabernet to go with our meal, but we know from experience to ask to taste it first. Good thing we did here, because after tasting a cab that was around $35 a glass, it was evident the bottle had been open for quite some time, it tasted stale. So we both ordered a standard cocktail. Devan recommended the crispy shrimp for an appetizer, which we ordered. To be honest, the waiter, Devan, who was a consummate professional, and the crispy shrimp appetizer were THE only good things to come of the $400 dinner for 2. We ordered steaks (a small NY strip and a rib eye) and 2 sides (au gratin potatoes and brussels sprouts). When the steaks came out (we both ordered medium), they were completely charred - and I mean burnt ! - on the outside, and raw in the middle. The were also both inexplicibly dry. No butter or other seasoning like at Ruths Chris, and the outside was so black, burnt, and charred it permeated the whole taste of the steak. The potatoes were nothing to write home about, and the brussels sprouts even worse. We decided we needed to get back to our beloved dog, so had 3/4 of the meal boxed up. When I got the bill, I was a little surprised to notice a standard (not top shelf) drink was $30 ! We paid the bill, leaving a good tip for Devan, and left. I would not return to Steak 48 and would not recommend to anyone looking for a nice, classy, upscale dining experience. The inappropriate music completely ruined any upscale atmosphere, and the fact that we had to ask THREE TIMES for it to be turned down is ridiculous. Even the steaks, which should be their big draw, are completely overpriced, cooked with no care (charred black on the outside, raw inside) , no butter or any other sauces are offered that I saw, and the prices, at $200 pp average, far exceed Ruths Chris prices, despite the steak and sides being of a much lower quality. The rest of it was great but the service was insanely slow because it was hard to get the bartenders attention because they were all over the place and kind of disorganized. Valet parking was very efficient, to say the least. The attractive ambience was spoiled by the playing of loud 1970's rock and roll all night long. You may want to hear Sympathy for the Devil while in a fine dining establishment but our table didn't it. My ask to turn it down was ignored. The real problem with this place comes if you know what it means to serve top quality beef. Both of our prime steaks were mediocre examples of prime meat. Prime, please note, just identifies the fat content of the beef, not the quality. That requires a chef who knows beef. This one doesn't. In particular my 45 day dry aged rib eye was almost tough but very fatty. My yardstick for steak, just to be clear is Peter's Luger's in Brooklyn and Long Island where I grew up. I'll be going back to Morton's (second best) for my next "steak out" meal. read more

It was perfectly prepared in my opinion, though my husband wanted a bit more marbling/fat. For sides our table shared the shells and cheese (solid but somehow missing a bit of richness/flavor), sautéed mushrooms (excellent seasoning), and chef Daniel's au gratin potatoes (I'm not usually a fan of this style of potatoes but these were spectacular!) For dessert my table shared the key lime pie and peanut butter pie. Peanut butter pie tasted just like a Reese's but the texture was a bit strange to me (kinda gelatinous/very smooth solid peanut butter consistency). The key lime pie was spectacular and my preference. I was shocked at how easy parking was as I expected the worse with it being a holiday. We did not need to valet.
