Had this urge for lamb chops tonight and decided to stop in. No regrets! Great chops and plentiful. I'm used to 3 lamb cutlets per serving and here I got 6! There were a couple of tables outside the restaurant with menus on them so you can browse the menu first. The wait staff were all very friendly. The wait staff who served me has such a pleasant smile, she can get you to order dessert even if you are not hungry. Anyway, I opted for lamb cutlets instead of steaks. Served with a small bowl of mint and potatoes. I added minted peas and french onion soup. Great combination. I asked for medium and it turned out perfect. Highly recommended. While I did not order the steaks, someone beside me did and it was a unique experience. The steak arrived at the table rare with some charring on the outside. It was served on a hot plate or sort. He added some nuttier and sliced his tenderloin to cook on the plate. He finished it off with some spices and mayo. I would return to experience this. read more

Let me tell you a story. I love steak. Wasn't that a great story? I was meandering around downtown London one evening and craved a good steak. Luckily for me, it was happy hour time and the Steak & Co. had a happy hour special. The place was empty as it was 4:30 pm I was seated immediately. The waiter handed me the menu and I said, "No no, that will be fine. Just give me that happy hour special you have out on the window." He nodded at me and I had no idea what I ordered. As he came back with my drink, I also added a side order of corn because I haven't had my maize fix in awhile. When my order came out, I was pleasantly surprised to see I ordered a steak dish that was still cooking on a heated stone! I do have to say, I was disappointed that one side of the steak was already on the heated stone so it was more cooked than I liked. The meal came with frites, and a side salad with a mustard and mayo dressing... the mayo is so good in London! I'll have to say, I wasn't too impressed by the steak, but the side dishes were very good and the whole meal was just a visual experience. Total damage for the meal? A mere 20 pounds! Is that expensive in London? I can't tell -- everything seemed affordable to me and I left this place a happy man. read more

This Saturday, we wanted to celebrate our Birthday with my friends (Greta) at this restaurant. We know one of the waiters, Zsolt there, as he's always providing an excellent service. Therefore we specifically wanted him to serve us. We initially agreed at the booking with regards this. However it was quite devastating upon our arrival, when we've been told off by one of their managers, Natalia, that we should not take a seat at Zsolt's table. The food is nice, don't get me wrong. However we know this guy for a long time, and we think, we've been mistreated. Next time we consider to choose another nearby steakhouse, where we also know the staff better. Such a pitty to keep people like Natalia in position to ruin your birthday night, when it's all about friends and family. Shame. read more

The staff was wonderful... but the whole reason I come it to get to grill my own steak on the brick at the table! They took this away! That was not smart. Steak & Co. was a bit of a mixed bag during my experience. The food was quite delicious and I very much enjoyed my steak. But, the pomp and circumstance of my visit seemed a bit unnecessary and out of place. Their plating is very odd, as they serve the steak on a sizzling stone, surrounded by your sauces and toppings. The only problem is that the stone is very slippery and three people in my vicinity (including me) had a hard time cutting the meat with the awkward set-up of the dish. In fact, a lady seated next to me had her's accidentally fall to the floor while she was attempting to cut her meat. Plating aside, the only other issue I had was with the garlic bread. While delicious, I'm not sure I'd call it garlic bread. It didn't really taste of garlic to me and the lack of visible garlic was a bit disappointing. It was almost as if they just sprinkled butter and garlic powder onto a flatbread; a very odd dish, indeed. read more

Terrible service - we came in and got seated, then after 10 min and going to the manager and asking when we will be served, we were happy to see the waiter, just to realize that he is approaching the table next to us that got seated later than us. They also got the foot 10 min before us....at that point we had 15min till our show...talked to the manager just to hear that "we do whatever we can" and "you can cancel your order if you're not happy"....god just go out of business and do us all a favor. read more

LOVED THIS PLACE! YUM! I wish there was one here in Georgia in the US! We all loved our food. My son and I each got the filet. Picked our own flavored salt, butter and sauce. Brought our steaks to us on our own hot stone to cook it as we wanted it with the stuff on it. So good. The fries were also very good - regular and sweet potato fries. Love love love! Steak & Co is brilliant. You can cook your steak to perfection as it arrives on a hot stone slab. This is the second time I've been to this restaurant (I must say this is now my favourite branch as it's a lot bigger). They have lots of different sides to choose from and they also offer more than just steak. Really great staff too. I must try something other than steak next time (but it's always so good and love the fact you get to choose a butter, sauce and a sprinkle flavouring). read more

Let me introduce I am an Ex Mastechef doing this review Italy first edition 6th ranked ...btw ... when a "restaurant" takes you 2 slice of dry italian ham and you can see they are taken from a retail presliced supermarket quality, without even knowing where it comes from, we already are starting badly and if you ask bread to eat it and they say it's additional, it's starting to get disappointing... The Ribs kentucky marinated I had ...well nothing special , not bad , but not good. And at finish of the meal with an average dessert (orange chocolate cake) I have seen a little Mouse running under the tables, I like mouses doh so didn't got crazy and payed my full bill of 35 pound .... The only nice thing there is the personal very positive and nice attitude. Would not take a girls there , and I would return only to try if they really have an Angus fillet , but I have many concern left, people working there are saving the missing quality of the food. Average food without much attention to detail. Had a pre-theatre meal of ribs. I thought they were decently cooked, with a smoky taste and chargrilling. Had to ask for bbq sauce because they were quite dry but still, credit where it's due, they weren't bad. I think everything else lets it down though. It wants to look sophisticated, but has menus that belong in a Harvester, with pictures and that plasticy cardboard that settles it at the lower end of the restaurant ladder. Presentation was just kind of crap - half a rack on a white plate, no efforts to prettify anything at all. The service was really lacklustre. We had several different people attend to us, some of whom didn't speak enough English to understand us when we asked for things like the bill. Oh, and the utter outrage at the end of a cover charge of £1 per person. Why? It's not a tip. It's not even for bread or anything. Eff off. read more

Whilst out and about around Covent Garden one Saturday evening with my wife and kids, we ended eating here at Steak & Co. It wasn't our first choice or even our second or third choice. We tried a few restaurants that were full before we tried our luck at this place. When they said they had tables available we were just happy that we had found somewhere. It was only when we were given the menus that we really how extortionate this place is. It was too late to do anything about it so we just had to grin and bare it. Obviously the menu was mostly steaks. And as these steaks cost about the same price as an actual cow we decided not to bother with starters. However, when my steak did turn up I was actually pleasantly surprised. The steak is served still cooking on a hot plate with your side orders and sources on a separate plate next to it. The quality of this steak really was excellent. I would even go as far as saying this was the best steak I had ever had. It was so tender and juicy that I was actually sad when it was finished. The decor here is pleasant and the staff were both friendly and professional. Should I ever rob a bank or win the lottery I would definitely consider coming back. read more

This was the best meal we had while visiting London. Many of the restaurants here tasted very bland to us, so we accepted that this just must be food in England. We dined at Steak and Co for my birthday and had a mouth watering filet that I was able to cook to my liking on the stone. We also loved the au gratin potatoes and toffee cake. Service was friendly and they were even playful and kind to my toddler. We are returning for our last night before heading back to the US. read more

The prices aren't too bad for London, and as they always seem to achieve high quality I planning on returning many times! Very nice place, casual fine dining. Affordable, cosy. Fast service, we were there for maybe an hour tops and had heaps of time left over to get to our show. The atmosphere is bubbly amd vibrant and the staff are friendly. Only problem was the toilets in relation to the kitchen, a bit too close for my boyfriends liking!! Otherwise it was brilliant! It's a busy London restaurant however, as a large party we really enjoying dining here. If you like steak this is the place to be. It was fantastic and you get a hot stones to cook your meat yourself to perfection. While the starters were okay and the mains I saw looked good, I don't think I'd rush back unless I ordered steak. I prebooked Meat and Co at St Martins Lane on table booking .com and I was not disappointed despite being fairly empty when arriving at 7.30pm. We both ordered a peppercorn sauce steak, one with chilli flakes and the other peppercorn with garlic butter starting with rare as we wanted it to be served on a hot slate slab. The service was fairly quick and the waitress was helpful in telling us how to cook the steak and it was fantastic! Being able to cook your steak in front of you may be slight gimmick but it's very satisfying in the results! The hot slate cooked the steak very well and I can adjust the steak and cut into slices to cook in between cuts, and the butter with the salt makes it fantastic to eat! Also ordered were the sweet potato fries as shared which was quite nice and worked well with the pepper corn sauce. Finally we had the duo cheese cake one lemon and one maltesers, despite a lack of a plate he flavours tasted good! Overall it's a thumbs up for food, service and general atmosphere read more
