    Hotcakes With Scrapple
    Shaina F.

I'd give like 3.5 stars not a bad experience but not 4 stars worth Ordered food to go, it was done pretty quickly maybe 15 minutes max. Price isn't bad. Tried the 3 hotcakes and scrapple, it was good, nothing special but no issues. Scrapple cut very thin. I also ordered a side of home fries, it was enough for multiple people. Husband had French toast and bacon and a side of grits, his words, "it was aight."

Stopped by because I wanted quick breakfast. Service carried the meal. I got French toast and eggs. Was fine, no complaints. Servers were really nice. Enjoyed chatting with them.

Went there today for some lunch. Ordered the Tuna Melt wanted something quick. Order took about 12 minutes. And I also ordered a steak in a sac. Waited until I got home to open it up. Tried the steak sac it comes with lettuce and tomato with a side of mayo. It's a half pita stuffed with what kind of steak idk. Not a great cut but it is rather large and a little salty. No cheese some cheese would have made it a lot better. The tuna Melt turned out to be soggy after being in the box and I don't live that far away. It too was a little salty whoever was cooking today likes to over salt the food. Because there was another lady there that sent her potatoes back because they were too salty. It's a hit or miss sometimes pretty sure I'll go back.

Italian sausage and cheese breakfast sandwich and home fries side
    Jenny T.

Ordered here for the first time using DoorDash. It was fine. Sandwich was sloppily thrown together and a bit greasy but it met the intent and was decent tasting (you can't go too wrong with cutting an Italian sausage in half, putting a slice of cheese on top and putting that in an English muffin. BUT - I have seen easier things done wrong). The home fries were kind of dry, felt stale, and it just had some caramelized onions thrown on top. Wasn't a huge fan. Was also craving chocolate cake. I didn't think it was anything special but again.... met its need and my craving. Delivery was quick via DoorDash so I'll know where to go if I need a quick breakfast sandwich.

Service and food was good. The links were bigger than what I realized, so will not get the extra links. The f.toast was good, but I will ask for extra cinnamon. I'll be back. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK.

    Arabian omelette in a "sack"!

It's great to go to a local spot and it's obvious that the staff really wants to be there. The staff give Steak in a Sack lots of life. They're friendly and attentive, and it's apparent that they like their jobs. The Arabian Omelette was well made, and is definitely a novel idea for sure. I'll be back next time I'm in the area, even if for just a cup of coffee.

    What a cool place!

One of my favorite places in the DMV area! The chip beef on toast is out of this world! It is my favorite. Their homemade bread is to die for and their home fries are stellar. The sweet tea has a nice balance with the bitterness of tea and a touch of sweetness. I try to go here once a month.

    Food I got.

Service is slow. Food is decent. I've been once and waited 45 minutes for a steak and cheese. I ordered Uber Eats and got the wrong food. They were unwilling to correct or give a refund. The title didn't match the picture and description but the manager acted as if it was my fault.

Steak in the sack sandwich! Nasty meat tough, burnt and sloppy. Avoid this place. Needs a visit from the health department.

So, we decided to have breakfast here the following morning. Our waiter, Roderick, did a wonderful job taking care of us. He answered all our questions and made any changes we requested which made our meal more enjoyable. I had the avocado toast and eggs over medium. I loved my meal. But to be honest, if there's a next time I'll order eggs over easy. My husband had the Oat Milk Protein Pancakes short stack. He ordered a side of scrambled eggs. He was kind enough to let me have a bite. The pancakes were full of blueberries and pistachios. They were tender and topped with almond coconut cream. Mmmm. They were great! My nephew had the country scramble. It included sausage and bell peppers. It was all gone in a blink. My niece had buttermilk pancakes and eggs. She enjoyed the pancakes but commented that the eggs were a little over cooked. The restaurant is beautiful and located in the National Harbor area walking distance from our resort. All in all, Vincent knew what he was talking about. We enjoyed our breakfast so much that we'll probably return later this week for dinner. It's open until 11 PM! Y'all should come!

We entered, admired the artwork around the room and were seated immediately to talk further what we liked about it. We were first greeted by our server Tess, who introduced herself & gave us menus. We searched a little, of course hawk-eyed other tables to see what others ordered... and Tess came back a few minutes later to take our drink orders. We got some waters, iced tea, lavender lemonades, and a mimosa flight for the table... but for a Sunday (what I would expect to be a busy day; a day of POST-prep) we received not 1 but 2 dirty glasses that we had to send back. Additionally, it took us over 20 minutes to get not one the flight but the simple nonalcoholic lavender lemonade to the table and was never told what the delay was about. The owner Tiess (I hope I spelled that right) did walk around with a smile, and to greet the table. All tables, and that is always appreciated and noticed by me. We did express to her our concerns and she did ensure us that we'd be taken care of. Tess grabs our orders and later our food comes out. I have been to Milk & Honey before in Bowie, and I say that because I don't remember their menu being so "busy". The grits and fried green tomatoes as an example of said "busy" items. Overall, the food was okay. Their potatoes were overcooked said 1-party, while as previously stated, another party said their grits and the fried green tomatoes were too busy. Not that it was good or bad, just... busy. Too much going on. I personally had the whiting and it was the star of the meal. My side of (plain ol) grits came out and I appreciated them being plain....they were just cold. So... 3 it is. Last few things : 1. Please note that there is a 1.5hour wait time. 2. There is a dj. 3. There is outside covered seating available, overlooking part of the upcoming surrounding shopping center and parking lot. 4. An 18% gratuity is entered for orders over $150.

All of the hip young girls in high school recommended this place to me and my friends and lets just say, they have never been more wrong. My girls and I went this weekend for a birthday brunch. I wanted a crepe, but when I saw it was 17 DOLLARS to slap some Nutella and strawberries on a piece of crepe is outrageous. I ordered a "Continental Breakfast," which, with tax and tip, cost me $30 DOLLARS. I wish you could have seen the look on my face when they gave me a plate of rabbit food. All 6 of us looked at the plate and laughed. Seriously, my 5 year old neice can eat 3 times as much of that in one sitting. So, in what world would that be enough food for a grown woman? My friend then went on to order the French toast for a grand total of $36 DOLLARS. Mind you, there was only one piece of toast, and the Inside was raw and soggy. Tasted like eating wet, soaked toilet paper. On top of the overpriced food and small portions, our "server" came to our table for a total of ONE SINGULAR TIME. My friend had also ordered a Chai Latte. Surprise, Surprise! It never came, and they still charged her for it. I think the nice man who brought us our food could see the look on our faces when we received our food, because he then brought us a free side of French fries. It is a huge problem when the french fries were the only sufficient thing I put in my mouth at this restaurant. I please, genuinely beg all of you to NOT waste your money. I promise there is anywhere else where you can get a crepe for double the size and half the cost. Once we left, we went down to Call Your Mother, the Jewish Deli, to get more food, as all of us left with our tummies still rumbling. Mind you, a full bagel sandwich and coffee cost HALF THE PRICE of one meal at Fontaine. Horrible. Mind you, it is 2 days later, and I am still thinking about this. I fully created a Yelp account just so I could leave a review. I think I would have a better experience eating an IHOP Continental breakfast than whatever I put in my mouth at this restaurant. Not worth the hype at all. Save your hard-earned cash and be a big baller elsewhere!

First Fridays are clearly a big deal there because the place was packed, the Gogo band was good, and the atmosphere was fun. I ended up sitting at the bar instead of getting a table and ordered a drink for myself, a drink for my cousin, and some shrimp. The food and drinks were actually good, so I can definitely see why people like coming here. What frustrated me was the pricing and gratuity situation. After looking at the menu, I saw it mentioned a 20% gratuity for parties of four or more, so I didn't think that applied to me since I was sitting at the bar with no table. I even asked the waitress if I could order food at the bar and she said yes, but nobody explained there would still be an automatic gratuity added. The drinks were $12 each and the bang bang shrimp were $13, so I was confused when my total came out to almost $50 and not realizing I added additional to the tip. I had to ask for the receipt multiple times before I finally saw the gratuity charge unbeknownst to me. I think the restaurant/menu needs to be a lot more upfront and clear about when gratuity is automatically added... and that's whether it's for First Fridays, live bands, bar service, or anything else. Being surprised by service fees, automatic gratuity or any hidden fee not clearly mentioned, for me, can leave a bad impression even when the food and atmosphere are good. As a small business, there are already stereotypes and complaints people make about hidden fees and pricing, and situations like this unfortunately don't help that narrative. With that said, I still plan to come back because I genuinely enjoyed the music, food, and overall vibe. I just wish the pricing and gratuity policies were communicated more clearly from the beginning... especially in this economy!
