Let's start with the taco salad...fresh ingredients, lettuce was green and crisp, per my friend who ate it. Meat was abundant on top and just enough ranch dressing. My daughter had the kids steakburger and fries. She liked it. No complaints. I, on the other hand, had the 3 way chili plate and a side of cheese fries. If you look at the photo, the chili plate was not too presentable. Just looked like spaghetti with chili sloughed on top. Taste was moderate. I expected it hotter, and by that I mean warmer. It was not cold, but I wanted to see steam coming off my plate and that did not happen. I also like spicy, so I asked for some hot sauce. Now, on to the cheese fries. I also expected these hot and greasy with cheese drizzled on top. The fries were room temp and the cheese was acceptable. Next time, I am going to have to ask for my fries and my chili hot. Go for the Summer Milkshake Happy Hour! The restaurant itself is very busy, and lacking in attentive staff. Waited a good 10 min before being greeted and another 10 before being seated although the restaurant was only half full. The majority of the empty tables had not been bussed. Floor needs a good stream cleaning. We had the mini sliders and parmesan cheese fries, double steakburger and regular fries, and a grilled cheese. All burgers were delicious. Parmesan cheese fries were Ok, it was just a seasoned salt shaked on. The grilled cheese was not melted. The halfprice milkshake happyhour is a greatdeal! Our selections were the full size cookies and cream (DELICIOUS!), However the Caramel turtle shake was disappointing. 1/3 of the bottom of the cup was chocolate syrup and caramel. Not sure if it just wasn't thoroughly mixed, but we only sipped a third of the shake and the away the rest. We will definitely return for the Milkshake Happy hour, cookies and cream was the winner! read more

Always good at this location. Servers are always nice and efficient. Prices are good in the first place but having coupons seems to make things taste better. I've never had a bad lunch here. Ugh, this location has really gone downhill. I've always enjoyed Steak N Shake but this trip was abysmal. I stopped in for food one night on the way home from an Orlando City game so while it was not early by any means this was not the typical 3am visit. The place was a disaster. I actually counted how many tables had not been cleared... Seven tables had piles of leftover food, drinks, and trash piled on them, which actually grossed me out more than it should have. To add to the gross factor the floor looked as if it hasn't been cleaned since the place opened its doors years ago. It was disgusting. As for the food my burger was fine but my boyfriend could barely swallow his frisco melt... and for days after swore his stomach still hurt from said melt. I'm not swearing off all Steak n Shake in the future but definitely swearing off this location forever. read more

Wanted a fulfill a quick shake craving and decided to go to steak and shake. Bad idea. Ordered 1 Oreo shake and 1 m&m shake. We should have checked the order when we got the shakes. Once we drove away we realized there were absolutely no toppings in the shake just plain vanilla which was pretty disappointing. Half way through the shake we noticed some residue in the shake and thought wow finally some toppings. No, it did not look anything like an Oreo crumb or m&m. This is by far my favorite place to eat. Its open 24 hours its good food and good service. Theres a server there named micheal thats like my favorite server hes attentive always answering questions he goes above and beyond. And the shakes are by far the best as there is such a large variety of shakes that nobody else has like side by sides and the nutella shakes and their awesome holiday shakes. I hate this location and I will never be back. I will drive another few miles to the location near Fashion Square mall where I've had much better luck. Maybe it's because I go through the drive thru near 2 am, but almost every single time I've come here they've messed up in some way that ruins my meal. Usually it's a customization that gets messed up, particularly when I ask for an ingredient to be left off. This time I asked for a Chili 5 way with no onions. They don't have a screen at the order taker to confirm it's right, so I get to the window and say "Hey, did I remember to ask for no onion?" to which she replied "oh yeah", and took my card. I assumed since I confirmed it with her at the window it woud be right, but glanced through the plastic top to see if there were any onions. Usually if they are there I can tell because they are on top and visible. But this one looked fine, aside from being smaller portion than I remember. I drove home and started to eat. First bite was into an onion, ugh. I really dislike onions, so I started to gag enough to upset my stomach. I feel like they did it on purpose. The whole meal was suspect. I also ordered some chicken fingers with honey mustard, but the cup of honey mustard was only about a third full. And with the portion of Chili 5 way being tiny (in a smaller container than I remember, and still only half full), it just seems like it was intentional. She also handed me my chili 5 way on its side by putting it in a bag small enough that it could only fit on it's side, so when I pulled it out it made the small portion very evident since it was all squished to the side. I'm very polite and order in a very clear manner, so I can't imagine why they would do it on purpose, but one would have to be really bad to mess up like that on such a small order, and after I confirmed it a second time. Anyway, the reason I felt the need to confirm it in the first place is because they've messed up my orders so many times. Very often it's the onions in my 5 way chili, so I always check that. Other times they forget the cheese on the cheese fries, or put something on my burger I ask not to. Sometimes they just forget an item altogether. If I was lucky enough to get a receipt, I check it to see if I paid for the item they missed, if they did then I go inside so as to not wait another 20 minutes in the drive through, and get them to fix it. The whole point of the drive thru was to avoid going in, so that sucks. They usually forget any silverware and napkins or any ketchup/salt I ask for on the side. The only time I've been inside this location was also terrible. I went in to avoid them messing up my largish order, so I sat at the counter to order togo. She took my order quickly, but it was literally over a half an hour before I got my food or drink. Long enough that I dozed off for a few minutes and woke up still wondering where my food was. The person who took my order was nowhere to be found, so I had to track down a manager who had my food started then it seems. I love Steak n Shake, but this location is absolutely terrible at order accuracy in the drive thru, especially if you aren't ordering things exactly as they come by default. I literally don't think I've ever gotten it completely correct, which resulted in me coming here less and less, and now I'm swearing it off. If I want Steak and Shake I'll drive to the one near Fashion Square. Also there is something really weird about the Spicy Chicken sandwiches here at this location. When I order it here it's always really tough, like unchewable tough, and on multiple locations. But when I order it at any other location it's really delicious. Maybe it's old meat? My husband & I & 2 friends stopped by tonight. The owner or managers should instruct their employees to keep their political opinions to themselves!!!!!! The employee was very arrogant and voiced his political opinion when I asked when indoor dining will resume. Since our political affiliations differ I told him not to go there. I walked out. Then he proceeded to have a political argument with my husband. I think Steak 'n Shake should train their employees NOT to argue with customers about politics!! I have been through the drive-thru about 3 times with my mother and it always happens to be when I am with her, we always encounter a very RUDE and unprofessional crew member. The first time, we had mentioned that we had a coupon to use for the Steak 'n Shake meal, and the female working at the speaker said our 2 meals would be 7$. Not sure how that was so when the coupon was 5.99 and the other meal we had was a good 7.99 it's self. When we got to the window, we were not greeted and the cashier was very rude and negligent. My mother asked her why our order was a certain price but she just snatched the coupon out of her hand and completely ignored what she asked her. We drove off after that. Being there several times, most of the time enjoy their food especially their milk shakes. Went there today, Caitlin our server was very nice. Love the fact we can always find coupons to help since we are 5. Everything was great till we went to the bathroom...... This is now my third steak and shake, but so far it has to be best. Yeah, we did wait over half an hour but it was worth it. The attention we received was that of any quality 4 star restaurant. The food seemed to be placed on the plate a bit too quickly for my liking, but the amount of people that were waiting for food most likely played a factor. I have NEVER been denied 3 transactions while ordering at the monitor. It literally is not hard to start a new one, take the order and proceed forward. I walked in and waited 5 minutes for someone to take my order at the register . I waited and watched, I understand that you are being timed , but that does not deny my 3 transactions , I'm not an imbecile . Mostly everyone had headphones in while enjoying their time of music rather than making customers a priority. I would like to speak to someone soon about this, because a lot needs to be acknowledged. Don't get me wrong, the food is good, just the attitudes really suck and I won't continued to be talked to improperly for something I've always been allowed . The cursing also, which was VERY loud for everyone to hear, joking wise apparently, was very much noticed, which made me stern because it would caution anyone to either think the customers are being talked about rudely , or that there is an encounter going on. I'm NOT impressed one bit. As much as morning shift or mid is usually busy , it is COMPLETELY different than night shift. They are ACCEPTIONALLY sweet and still maintain their job well. If I lived in this area even if I came back here I would never have MaryPat serve me and if I had no choice I would leave even if I was starving. When we told her we were ready to order when she was she made a face as if I was bothering her. She rushed us through taking our order. When she finally brought the shakes she put down the spoons while walking away. However she had the time to stop and chat with her other caucasian customers at great length. She either did not put our order in at the time or she left the food sitting there because at least 2 tables that came in after us got their food before us. When the food came I asked her for plastic utensils and I waited and waited until I had to ask another waitress for the fork!! On 07/21/13 I made an order #144185 with a coupon for 3 double steakburger with fries meals, only to be told I would need three separate coupons - is this true? Then I asked for two tropical banana shakes - I sat at the counter for my order then the food arrived - so I said, "Where are my shakes?" The guy apologised, then left me and my food getting colder while he went and made the shakes - he came back with 4, so I had to show him my receipt, he apologised again the went off to make the last shake - when it arrived my food was cold, and got colder after I drove the 2.9 miles home - a thoroughly disappointing experience so surprise, surprise - we will not be going back :( read more
