I had a very uncomfortable dining experience here. The manager Megan spent most of my time there yelling and berating her employees. If I was that uncomfortable watching them being yelled at I could only imagine how her employees felt. I wanted to talk to her about that. When asking my server what the manager who was yelling name was my server seemed embarrassed. I requested to have the manager sent over to our table. The manager Megan shortly arrived after yelling at another employee. I made sure to let her know how uncomfortable I was hearing her yell at her employees. Megan seemed embarrassed about the situation, but quickly made excuses about how her voice carried through out the restaurant. She then mentioned she was on gril that night and had to leave immediately. All in all this was a highly uncomfortable situation. I do not wish to patron a place where I know the employees are being verbally asulted on what seems to be a daily basis. No one should be demeaned at their place of work. I am both calling corporate and will be emailing them about my experience. Edit: We comtacted corporate and they said they would look into it. We got a call back from the district manager two days latter letting us know they took care of it. We were there on March 19. Very slow service and not very clean. I ordered a shake "to go" as I paid the bill and it wasted 27 minutes of my life from the time I placed the order and actually receiving the shake. And to top it off my husband ended up in the emergency room less than 24 hours later with acute gastroenteritis. Coincidence? I think not. Very disappointed. read more

An update to my previous review: great food and very good prices, the wait was not that long for food, maybe 15 min. I must say the UNSWEETENED tea is excellent, it even helps to lower my blood glucose even after I had bread, French fries(potatoes) or a milk shake, the floors were a little trashy but it is a fast pace busy environment with customers lined up to be seated and served, still the AC is very cold but for younger folks it might be ideal, just bring an extra covering of your choice if you're always cold. It's eat n go quickly or eat fast so your food don't get too cold before you finish eating. Over all it's fine dining at a reasonable price and I am good with that. It has been a long time since I have eaten at a steak and shake. This is mostly because I consider this fast food, and I do not feel like being obligated to tip for fast food, as well as there are not many close to where I live. This morning however, I decided to give it a try. This restaurant was relatively empty this morning. Even so, you had to wait to be seated. Not a big deal I guess. I know this restaurant is famous for its burgers. I love burgers. That being said, I ordered the all you can eat pancakes instead. I was brought 3 very large pancakes to start. These were very good. The prices here are very good. The two stars taken away was due to the service. If i am asked to be served at a fast food place i expect great service. The service was slow not really friendly although the manager did come by, and ask if everything was ok, so that counts for something I guess. I had to ask for more coffee and water, and my check was brought to my table without asking if I wanted more pancakes or a thank you. The worse drive through service ever!!! Fast food should be quick and easy. Pay and then wait in line at window for several minutes. Never been a quick experience for fast food. Well they just can't get my favorite food right. All over the country I have eaten 5 way chili and this location messes it up every time. First time no cheese. Last time the red sauce was rancid and my kitchen smelled terrible when I open them. They offered to replace and I told them only if they replace the red sauce. I went through the drive-thru and had to wait about 25-35 minutes to get up to the window and wait another 10 minutes to get my order. Food was good and correct but the shakes were all completely wrong and given to me in kids cups. My boyfriend finished his whole milkshake only to find a small sharp piece of plastic in his cup that he accidentally sucked up into his mouth. The lid of the cup wasn't broken at all. Absolutely never go here. The crew members do not communicate well with each other, the food is always late and cold. We usually enjoy our meal but this time was super disappointing! We brag about the food and how reasonably priced it is. Perhaps it was toward the end of Sunday morning breakfast but not sure. Still had plenty of time. Food looked like it was just slapped on the plate, sausage dried out, sweet tea weak and not very sweet. Orange juice seemed bland and watered down. Martha and Nicole are the driving force of Steak 'n Shake and the reason why the place is even still running. Every time I go I want to be helped by either of them and their excellent service. I wouldn't want anybody else to serve me, and they are the reason I come back for more. The manager Kitty is kinda a bitch though. This place is a terrible place to eat, we had a party of 9 and got here before a party of 8, first off, they got their food first, and it took them 10 minutes just to bring the waters, then another maybe 30 minutes to bring food, which wasn't that long until I actually saw what it looked like. Giving one star is very generous. Service was so terrible I felt I needed to write this review. We ordered 3 sliders and fries. Basic food. When we pull up to the drive through it takes forever for anyone to even greet us. Once they finally came to the window the girl asked us to back up so she could reset the timer. Who does that?
