Steam is a great looking place. It is very open. The colors are warm and inviting. Booths seemed kinda low from the table, but they were comfy. There is a ton of seating (both at the bar and dining areas). I love the small details - like foot rail at the (very long) bar being a railroad track. Beer selection is great and the bartenders are friendly. I was told my wait time would be about 10-15 minutes - I was seated in less that time. The waitress we had quickly came to the table after we sat down and was very professional. While there are positives, there are some cons. The noise level is crazy high. I could barely hear my fiancé over the cacophony. The food was nothing to truly write home about. I had the BBQ pulled pork sandwich. There was little BBQ flavor yet the roll was "wet." It was lacking any wow factor when it came to the taste. I had the Caesar salad with it and that was just okay. My fiancé had the chicken panini - which had more flavor, but was still too subtile. I was hoping the food would be better. Again, not bad just rather bland. We waited about 30 minutes before our sandwiches with salads came out. Which seemed kind long for something simple. While it won't be in my top 15-20 places to pick to eat, it will be within the top 10 places to grab a drink. I am hoping that it will get better. There is GREAT potential for this place to make it. My family used to go here a lot but it's been awhile so my fiancé and I decided to order delivery from here. We ordered a chicken cheese steak, mild & sriracha agave wings, and a brad Fox burger. The burger was decent. The chicken cheese steak was okay as well. Both of those meals were supposed to come with fries but we got 1 teeny tiny order of fries that we barely could share. It was sad. The wings though break my heart! They used to be so amazing but these were so bland! I don't know how wings could have such little flavor and be so rubbery. I'm super disappointed because they used to churn out such quality food. I guess I'll have to find another wing place to go to since the quality has severely dropped here. read more

I'm a fan of this place on several levels -- I like what they've done with this building that has rolled through it's share of businesses over the years -- train depot, art school, salon, and now a nice bar and restaurant. The inside of Steam looks really cool and they have plenty of parking to handle the crowds. It was full when we arrived but the hostess was very pleasant and told us it would be about 15 minutes (and she was right on the nose with that estimate). We sat at that bar during that time and each ordered a beer from their draft list. When we sat down to eat, our sever was very nice and she was prompt with new beers and our food. We ordered wings as an appetizer -- one pound was the quantity in which they came. They were good and hot, but they weren't as saucy as I like -- the breading must have soaked it up. We didn't realize they were bringing a little appetizer as well so given the quantity of wings, we had about half of them wrapped up to go. We each ordered a flat bread and those were huge as well and we ended up bringing about half of each flat bread home. It reheated very well, which was good and was great when we had it originally in the restaurant as well. The crust was really crispy and flavorful. Overall, we were happy with the food and the service. Our biggest complaint about Steam is the same as all of the other reviewers -- the noise. It's insanity loud in there. They need to get that taken care of ASAP because it's almost unbearable. It detracts from the overall otherwise very good experience and I think it will make a big difference if they take care of it. read more

I've only been here late night for friends' birthday celebrations of drinks and bar food, but I've never had a bad experience. Last night my friends ordered food, but I had ready eaten. My friend Mitch raved about the "garlic hot" boneless wings. He gets wings everywhere we go - and he said these topped the area's offerings. Among other favorites of the group, were the crab quesadilla and the opportunity to have a fried egg on your burger. My friends were very pleased with their food. I have to mention the the S'more cocktail the birthday girl had, which if you are in the mood to indulge get this! Especially if you like chocolate - it had Godiva chocolate liquor and basically is an alcoholic hot chocolate, complete with a melted marshmallow on top. Delicious and a great winter splurge. It's very loud in Steam, especially late at night on weekends, but my friends also like to dance and there's never been a bad band there when we've been there. They usually play covers with a fun spin but it's always a good time and super fun dance music. I have to commend Steam too for their superb use of yelp! What can I say about this place.....it just screams American manliness. I walked in and I instantly grew a full beard, my bench press went up 500 pounds, and a bald eagle landed on my shoulder and directed me to the bar. As I walked over I swear I saw a grizzly in the corner that just wanted to wrestle with someone!!! This place is built inside an old American train cart. The bar has like close to 20 beers on tap. The bar rest is made out pig 100% grade A steel from what I could only image from the Steel City herself. They even had a menu. I got a burger, wings, and rings. One of the best burgers I have ever eaten, the cows must have been flown in from Iowa. The wings were to die for...I almost stabbed my buddy cause he wanted one....must have been flown in from Buffalo. The rings....so delicious and beautiful I contemplated saving one and using it for a engagement ring. A lucky lady would have this dazing ring, but I devoured it anyways. I almost forgot...TVs all the way down with every American sport you can think of...football, hockey, whatever your heart demands!!! Solid 3. Great potential! Servers definitely need some more training and menu testing. We had a big group so I partially understand the difficulty with serving us but it took a half hour just to get drinks. Maybe they need some extra cocktail waitresses. Food was very good. I had the hummus and it was delicious. 3 different flavors on a platter with tons of pita and feta. Everyone else was satisfied with their meals as well. Drink menu is fantastic. Plenty of craft beers at a very good price. Lots of unique mixed drinks and desert drinks. The atmosphere is fun and energetic. When we got there it was very loud but by the time we left it was just ridiculously loud. You couldn't even have a conversation. It was almost to the point where it was annoying. They had a DJ and the music was blasting. Its a bar, not a club. Someone needs to realize this if they want to keep a good clientele. Since becoming a Fish Taco fan by having my first at the Jersey Shore's own Surf Taco, I have tried them often elsewhere. Although none have rivaled, today's at Steam, fell the shortest. A stick of fish served with a dollop of dry slaw on a soft taco is poor. The guacamole, sour cream, salsa and peppers were served on the side of the dish. Too much work and absolutely bland. Where's the special sauce most restaurants put on the slaw with all the other toppings and a lime to sprinkle a little juice on the feesh? I'm all for different but not regressive culinary behavior. I'm all for simple but this was simply lackluster. The bar was packed and all flanking me seemed to be ordering beef items. I would come back but would stay closer to the cattle. read more

This was our first time here! Our waiter was mike, he was attentive and knowledgeable! There specials change often and their presentation of the food is awesome! They have an extensive beer list and offer classic cocktails, dark and stormy was delicious! We had a tasty garlic shrimp appetizer, we enjoyed a salad and ribs and to finish it off had a brownie sundae! The sundae was the perfect portion, no too big, served warm with a scoop of ice cream! Straight FREAKIN awesome restaurant all around. Food amazing (I had the Ribeye), service A+ (kid named Chris was our waiter, told him what I like and he made a great reco)... Plus Ribeye wasn't on the menu and I noticed the French dip sandwich was made of ribeye and he says, "Let me talk to the chef", and BOOM, Ribeye steak cooked perfectly. Like a perfect mid rare I mean comes out, GREAT JOB. Then I tell him I like horseradish and he brings out both horseradish sauce & straight horseradish... PHENOMINAL. Very neat building its shaped like an old steam engine. Its a good place for drinks and appetizers. Dinner menu is small. I had the special, couscous salad. It came out to me without the couscous so they brought it out separately. It wasn't even a couscous but a small round pasta (not pastina). I did enjoy my salad. Everyone did enjoy their meal. It is a small restaurant so I wouldn't recommend going during busy meal times. I do recommend this restaurant. It is a nice atmosphere. read more

Steam Did not take my food allergies/intolerances seriously. I got very sick after eating a hamburger with olive oil I broke out in hives and It set off a migraine which sent me to the hospital for FIVE days. I called steam to try and figure out what happened and we went over the meal I ate and I was informed that they "forgot" the mushrooms we're sautéed in olive oil too. This is not okay. Yes olive oil is a strange allergy but it's the only one I have. Their servers need to be educated on how to handle sensitive orders. I will not be going here again. read more

I've been going to steam for years, and have always loved it. Until tonight, i got out of my Uber and took a sip of my white claw and then threw it out. The bouncer would not let me in Bc he saw me take the sip and said since i was "visibility intoxicated" he could not let me in. I was 100% sober and took a drink with me for the ride. Good food, very nice menu... but some waiters were do I start. One example: How do you tell a customer " oh my god, you are not hungry at all". If I needed someone to watch my diet I would go to Weight Watchers meeting. The closer you sit to the back of the restaurants the more it smells like urine. Food 4/5 Look, if you go anywhere to order a turkey club or a chicken salad sandwich expecting it to knock your socks off, you're a Grade A douche. Why would you do that? Shut up. Order the "Wass Burger". It's got everything and goddamn it do they cook it perfectly every time. It's a steep $12 bucks so I was hoping for something good and it turned out great. Huge in size and it's accompanied with these shoe string fries that are delicious. I've had the wings too and they're solid. Service 4/5 I've only been on Friday and Saturday nights when it's packed with club goers so you'd expect subpar service. Yeah, not only is it a restaurant/pub but it converts to a club. And it's not bad for a place in the burbs. You'd think the service would suck because it's so packed but the guys/gals at the bar are pros. Even when I sat at a table, food came promptly. Ambience 4/5 It's dim and dark but huge. The bar is long and there are tons of space for seating, from high tops to booths. Behind the bar you'll find Tv's playing sports and other Tv's displaying current brews on tap and in which way they're served. I've never seen that before and I love it. I applaud it. And I think every damn bar should do that. All in all, great experience. If you want a place for lunch, this is it. If you want dinner, this is it. Went to Steam Pub for Sunday brunch and left disappointed. It looks like it would be a great place to catch a game. Probably 25 big HD TVs throughout the interior of the building. The problem is that the food was quite bland and the drinks were worse. I had the Huevos Steamoes. Decent flavor with dry pork. The scrapple was not good. We both had the spicy Bloody Mary with Absolute Peppar. Terrible. Tasted like hot water. The worst part about the trip was our server. He has the personality of a wet rag. Barely spoke. I hadn't been back to my hometown of Southampton for more than a quick visit in more than 20 years. So when I spent some time back there last week, I stopped into Steam for lunch. What a great place. The decor, the artwork, and the music meshes perfectly. Industrial, hip, but warm. The beer menu was outstanding. A great selection of seaonals (Oktoberfests, pumpkin beers) from regional (Sly Fox, Victory), up and coming (Southern Tier) and international breweries. The food was delicious. I can't recommend the crab chowder enough. It was seasoned perfectly with a great flavor and plenty of crab. I had the crab cake appetizer to go along with it and again, just great. My wife had the crab cake sandwich and she loved it as well. The service was very good. The hostess, manager, bar and waitstaff were all very attentive and helpful. I've been here twice in the last two weeks (meeting friends after work) and will never return! Terrible service, no caring bar staff, ultra small happy hour food portions and a lack luster beer menu. The group of us left on Friday, 4/3/15 due to the bartenders lack of service! There was 6 of us and we could not get a drink refill. The staff was busy BSing at the end of the bar with the college age waitresses. We had to walk down to them to ask for the check in order to escape this dump! Stopped in here for a quick lunch on Sunday. Was drawn to the place because they had a nice outdoor patio and were OK with letting me bring my dog to sit outside by me and my guest. The hostess and server were super friendly and accommodating, even bringing us a bowl of water for the dog. I have to say, the price points on the menu are pretty appealing. Pretty good draft beer selection and a great bottle beer menu -- all at nice prices. Also, they had $4 bloody marys on the day we were there, and they were pretty tasty. As far as the food, what we ordered was OK. Had appetizers of the Buffalo prosciutto-wrapped shrimp and scallops and the crab quesadilla. Also had the Chop Chop salad with added falafel, The salad was really good and refreshing. Nice light vinaigrette over greens with mandarin orange slices, dried cranberries and pecans. Adding the falafel was a great decision. Nice and crispy but moist on the inside. The shrimp and scallops were pretty tasty, although there was just a bit too much Buffalo sauce, which detracted from the flavor of the shrimp and scallops. However, the seafood was cooked perfectly, and the scallops were huge! Sadly, the crab quesadilla was probably one of the worst things I've ever had. First off, the crab was so obviously canned crab meat. Gross. I had a shell in just about every bite, and the filling of the quesadilla itself was very watery. To me, that shows the canned crab meat wasn't drained properly. The filling also included spinach, cheese and onions -- none of which did anything for the flavor of the quesadilla. Also, the tortilla was rock hard. Almost had a stale quality to it. Couldn't finish the dish. The whole time I was thinking, had I had this dish as truly a first course, before a main entree, I may have otherwise canceled the rest of the meal -- they were that bad. Truly not a dish you want set the stage of an entire meal. Overall, the meal was OK. Maybe I would come back and try the burger or a sandwich, since I realize I only had a salad and a couple of apps. read more

Best happy hour ever! All of their yummy and unique cocktails, which are usually pushing $10, are half price, and so are some of their food items. Never had a bad meal there. I shared cheesesteak egg rolls and a few other things with my friend. Decent selection of craft beer. At the time I went they had more IPAs than anything else, which isn't my thing, but they still had a couple things I liked. Their specialty cocktails are amazing! You don't see creations like that anywhere else unless you traveled to center city. I had a banana bread martini with Nutella on the rim. Dangerously good. I love that on some nights they have live music and a dance floor. It creates a nice crossover of a dance club, and chill bar where you can watch a sports game. I like the oriental calamari. It's a must whenever I go to Steam. This place has many attractions so how can you rate them? You have the restaurant business - 4 stars - good food - good service. The bar business - 3 stars - its a long, one sided bar - like the one in the last supper painting. The bartenders need skates but sooner or later you get a beer. The entertainment. 2.5 stars - great entertainers but the sound guy must be deaf. Bad mix and too loud for the acoustics - its shaped like a trailer so you should mix for that shape - it can be done. read more

Tried this place due to the great reviews! When we (my family) arrived, the restaurant had this weird smell. I was able to get used to the smell as the night progressed. Our server was kind, but the service was very slow. It was also very loud in the restaurant, although it is usually loud in bars. It's not as much of a family friendly environment in my personal opinion. I had a Calabria Panini, which was delicious and had a lot of flavor! The garlic parmesan fries were delicious and addicting... The garlic was a nice touch! Finally, we were able to choose our desert - my sister and I shared a Chocolate Flourless Lava Cake. The cake melted in my mouth and had a richness to it that I enjoyed. The chocolate sauce was sweet and not too thick. My sister and I ate it very quickly. Overall, I would recommend going if you're with a group of friends that want to spend a lot of time out. I wouldn't bring a family with small children due to the loudness and the slow service. read more

I just ate a Wass burger Steam Pub And I've personally been eating food as you for 37 years. That was by far the best burger I've literally ever eaten. Possibly the best food I've ever put in my body. I suggest that anyone who sees this post come in and get yourself one. Hands down best thing I've ever eaten. Don't bother coming here if your expectation is a tasty meal. The drinks are too sweet and the food is never cooked as it should. Also, what's with the smoking area that is literally in front of the door and people walking in and out of restaurant have to walk through it. So impressed by this place!! We went here Saturday night at 7:30. Nice eclectic customer base-young , older, families, businessmen. Everyone working here was super friendly & accommodating. The bartenders couldn't be more attentive. Everything we ordered from the menu was FANTASTIC! We had the loaded nachos , the buffalo scallops & shrimp and the burger of the week which had beer battered onion rings which melted in your mouth! Love the beer selection- found a new favorite in the Neshaminy Creek Punkless Dunkel pumpkin wheat ale. And finally filled my craving for their amazing pumpkin pie martini which our bartender Owen made to perfection!! YUMM! 2 for dessert please :-) Will definitely be coming here more often.
