We came in and had a great meal on a Saturday night two weeks ago,my wife had the mac and cheese burger and she loved it. I had the turkey burger which had sliced apple that really worked well together, we each thought it was a great place to dine. Today we went in and took my daughter for the children dine free special and the food was nothing special,it hit you in the face that this was bar food not the food from our first visit. Had dinner there last night. My burger was good but my wife had the seafood ravioli. Obviously not homemade. Way too expensive at $26.00. And it didn't even come with any vegetables. This my first time writing a review, but I felt it was necessary because we had a miserable waitress last night. Her name was Ashley. She was not friendly at all. She didn't smile. She didn't ask us if it was our first time here(which it was). She didn't explain the Brad Fox 5k menu to us. It seemed like we were a burden to her. I overheard the waitress handling the table next to us explain everything to her customers. Our waitress didn't say thanks, have a nice night. Well she did acknowledge us when I handed her our money for the check and tip. But it was a simple thanks. I gave it a three stars because the food was good. The buffalo wings are awesome. Let me tell you about tonights visit, first of all the bartenders Katie and Jackson were over the top friendly and knowledgable about the menu. Katie recommended the crab tacos and holy crap AMAZING. So...I believe the difference between a good business and a great business is how they handle an unhappy customer and we were clearly, unhappy customers after our September 2017 dinner at Steam. I wrote a Yelp review and the owner, Martin, followed up. Not only did he address our concerns but he took the time to mail us a gift card for a free meal and asked us to try Steam again. We did so tonight from start to finish, it was a totally different and very positive experience. Our waiter and all of the wait staff were great, our food was excellent and only at the very end, did we ask if Martin was there to thank him. Clearly, this is a first class restaurant that cares about its patrons and the product they serve. Did they have an off night in September? Yes, but they did everything possible to make it right and they certainly did! read more

A girlfriend and I decided to grab drinks and food here on a Saturday night. They were pretty busy but we got seated outside (as requested) in no more than 5-10 minutes. Our waiter, John, was friendly, attentive and made sure we had a great time! We both wanted wine and he took the extra step to let us have a tasting before we committed to a bottle as well as helping us take photos. As far as food, we got chips with salsa and guac, seafood flatbread and crab quesadilla. These are appetizers and the portions were more than enough as well as delicious. What a lovely place. The bar is huge and plenty of tv's around. Great selection of drinks the restaurant area just behind the bar section is just as welcoming. I had the best tuna melt sandwich. It was fresh and perfect in everyway. My husband had a burger that was fresh and delicious. I am so impressed by this restaurant. I don't live anywhere near it but look forward to coming back. We loved it and will definitely go back. It was a Tuesday night and we arrived just before 6pm so we were able to still order from the happy hour menu which has a great selection for $5 each. Yeah, it was a little loud but thats half the fun! Who wants to sit in a quiet unhappy restaurant? We felt comfortable there. The food was great and our server was awesome. Food delivery was timely and the check was affordable. I have been to this establishment several times in the last six months and I am happy to say I have been happy every time! My friend told me to come here to try the wings. I was expecting just bar food but it is much more (they have everything from quesadillas to salmon). I wasn't too hungry so I just had the wings and the spicy crab soup Both were great. The spicy crab soup definitely has a kick to it! It started getting kind of crowded around 10:30 because they had a DJ coming on. We stayed for a little after our dinner and left because the younger crowd started coming in and we are old lol. Drinks are always good, the service could be a little quicker at the bar but is absolutely reasonable for how busy they usually are and is usually worth the short wait. My one and only complaint it that I've never been able to use the restroom there without another customer bursting through the door, literally every single one of the six or seven times I've been there someone has walked in on me because the locks don't work properly and due to the noise level no one can really hear you yell out that the restroom is occupied. They definitely had some very interesting and well prepared food, but it was a little pricy for pub food. They do have some great drink options and great seasonal mixed drinks, especially during Christmas. Right up front let me caveat my "3" rating by saying that this is a SOLID 3+ moving towards a "4". We visited at 5:30 PM on a Thursday evening a week after failing to get in the previous Friday evening. We were seated promptly, and our waiter Chris was with us quickly. We give Chris a "5 of 5" rating . He was super friendly, prompt, and very attentive. Seating: There is both outdoor seating out back on a deck and inside seating. The outside is nice comfortable cushioned patio type furniture with glass topped tables. The inside seating offers high tops, low tables, and bar seating. The place is much larger than it looks from the outside. The low tables were small, but because there were only two of us it wasn't much of an issue. But if there were four of is sitting at the table I think that we would have been really cramped. With one appetizer, the bread plate with spreads, two dinner plates and a water glass and beer glass each, our table was already full. Two more diners at this table would have been a significant challenge. Atmosphere: We were aware of the complaints about the high noise level, and when we first arrived it wasn't too bad. But when we arrived the place was only about half full. By the time we left I think every table was filled, and it was very loud. The music was audible when we arrived, but was absolutely masked by the din of voices over voices. We do think that something needs to be done to reduce the noise level. it is hard to hold a conversation across a table when the place hits high gear. We also sat outside after dinner to finish up our drinks. It was very nice, with a constant breeze and very comfy seating. Our only complaint (again) is noise. The music outside was very loud, and again conversation was difficult. Food: We ordered the grilled vegetables and bruschetta appetizer, the Chicken Kristine, and the Crab Cake entree. All were presented beautifully. The staff really does a great job making the food look great. The appetizer was incredible, and the balsamic vinegar reduction was a tasty addition. The crab cakes were....different.... but good! They were presented with crunchy potato strips over the tops, and coleslaw alongside/under the crab cakes. The crab cakes themselves were very spicy which caught us by surprise. The combination though was really good. The crunchy potato with the soft crab and the creamy/tangy slaw really paired well. The slaw also helped cool the spice in the crab cakes. Our only negative comment is that if you don't like spicy food, you'll have trouble with them, and the menu did not indicate that they were spicy. As it happens, we like spicy. Our second dish (Chicken Kristine) was good too. I like tomato based cream sauces, and this was very tasty. The pasta was overdone and soft though, and the chicken was somewhat overcooked. The chef did honor my request to hold the peas, and for that I'm very appreciative. I also ate the whole dish without complaint. Beverages: We love craft beers, and the tap list was good enough for us beer snobs. And somehow we stumbled in during Happy Hour, so my $4 beers were $2 and my wife's $5 beers were $2.25. Can't beat that with a stick!! I saw another review complaining about the parking and I'm not sure why they had an issue with parking. Yes, the front lot is small. But there is a very large parking lot along the side of the building with a ramp leading to the back entrance, and there's a HUGE lot behind the furniture store next door. Yes, you might have to walk 200 feet, but if that's a problem then perhaps you need a handicapped tag. I wish Steam well, and hope they address the noise levels. This place can become a "4" quickly, and hopefully will remain in business for a very long time. read more

We've been there several times but tonight was our last. We arrived 10 minutes before happy hour started and were told there was a 10-15 minute wait, which turned out to be 35 minutes. The server was not pleasant at all and acted like she was doing us a favor. She never warned us that happy hour was coming to an end or asked if we wanted another drink before it ended. When we ordered another drink we were not aware that it was just a few minutes after 6, therefore it was full price. This would not have happened if we would not have had to wait 35 minutes for a table. When we got the bill and mentioned it to the server, we didn't want compensation, just wanted them to be aware of what happened. She actually said to me "Don't yell at me". Well, I wasn't yelling, it is VERY loud in there and everyone needs to speak loudly to be heard. They need to mention to customers prior to the end of happy hour in case they want another drink. Headed to Steam last night for my aunt's birthday dinner after reading some great reviews. Seriously underwhelmed. Started with the chocolate wings. An interesting idea....for 3 or 4 wings, but not a plate of 12. Tasted like grilled chicken w/ a little cocoa powder sprinkled on, no taste of the hot peppers or tomato noted in the writeup. Uninteresting to the point that i asked for some buffalo sauce to liven them up. Dinner was a blackened shrimp salad. Mountain of iceberg lettuce w/ 4 medium sized grilled shrimp and some red onion and crispy taco strips. Again underwhelmed. Someone else had the crab quesadilla and was underwhelmed, same for the Leclair taco trio. Kudos on the stuffed portobello mushroom app. Also it was very cold, everyone at my table dined wearing their winter coat. Service was excellent, bartender made some nice recommendations based on expressed likes. Maybe it was just an off night but I doubt I'd give it another go. read more

I have frequented Southampton Eateries for 20 years. I have to say that there are many good eats in the area. Maggio's, Kenny's, Habachi, and for Sandwiches Monte's and Lee's. As for Jewish Deli's, you can't beat Ben and Irv's. We were a party of five. We arrived at 6 PM on a Sunday, and it took 45 minutes to get our drinks and some cold rolls. The wait staff needs some serious work. I had the Crab Cakes, which were very spicy and not identified on the menu as such. The others had a Steak, Seaford Tacos, and Lobster Mac. All of the meals were a little less than mediocre. The salads were no better. I had the Ceasar, it came with green peppers in it? If the Lobster Mac were a criminal, it would have been arrested for impersonation of having Lobster in the name. 'Where's the Lobster". I agree with other reviews in regards that the sound attenuation must be addressed, they need some. As far as the drinks, the bar area was good, but, the table service was non-existent. Upon spending two hours at the table, mostly waiting on food, instead of the server, asking if we wanted dessert, she meandered over and asked if we would like the check. Then it took here ten minutes to return with it. But, at the same time, she did bring back a dessert menu. The wait server also was not familiar with the menu. The Tip of the day for her is.......Get a different job. I wish the Owner's the best. They need to review the menu, train the wait staff and get some sound batts on the ceiling. Steam is a cool place but it's not overly affordable. It's a bar that's been built out of an old coach railcar so space is limited, but in a good way. They have several TVs, a few arcade games and about 15 tables. It's wall-to-wall people ok busy nights so it can also be tough to get food when everyone else is there to drink. They have play DJs and a small dance floor, but it's mostly a gathering place because there isn't a ton of space to dance. Good times though! read more

I have mixed feelings on this place. Each time I go, I have a slightly different experience. I've gone when it's dead and have had food come out cold (which they promptly replaced, so that gets an A+) and then last night when it was packed to the gills, half our food was lukewarm and the other half was hot. While the place seems a tad bit pretentious, I still have to give them mad props for their amazing drinks and ambitious menu. I think they're still having some growing pains from being new. The bar staff is so so, I've had amazing, knowledgeable, nice bartenders to ones that simply seem as though they can't wait to be done their shift and can't be bothered with extra courtesies. The beers and liquors are priced appropriately and while some drinks are expensive, the detail that goes into their specialty martinis completely explains the price. Hands down some of the best, fun cocktails I've ever had. The server we had last night was really nice, he did explain that he was bolting the minute his shift was over, but I'd rather hear that than be left w/o explanation. Overall he was really great and hustled to take care of us before his time was done there. Met the kitchen staff out on the deck and they were really nice and they told me a lot about the food and different specials and what to try, so that was much appreciated. I'll be going back to try happy hour as they suggested. I hope they only get better from here on out, it would sure be nice to see a new business thrive and have good food and drinks that patrons can count on each and every time. My daughter and I just returned from Steam Pub less than enthused with our meal. We ordered a chicken Caesar salad and the pulled pork mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was very enjoyable. However, the chicken Caesar salad was less than satisfactory. Apart from the dressing having little taste, the chicken added to the salad was old and dried out. I should have returned the salad but it was the end of a long day for us and we were tired and hungry. At the end of our meal I shared with our waitress Meg S. that she should inform the cook that the chicken was dried out (I even showed her a piece that I had saved that looked horrible), I got very little interest from her. Minutes later, she reappeared. I expected her to tell me she spoke to the chef or apologize for the chicken, but instead she handed me the check and walked away. We paid the check and left without another word. We will not be returning again. I won't be recommending this place to anyone either. read more

Not gonna lie, I started out hating this place. I thought it was a replacement Kenny's and existed solely to serve sub-par food and peddle drinks to local bros. Argued with my friends over it and stood my ground. Until one evening I tried the "Wass Burger" and enjoyed an extremely legit happy hour. I thought it was a fluke, so I returned the following week and ordered the "Pulled Pork Tacos". The tacos were one of the best pork variations I have ever had. The drinks are always fair and consistent, the staff is cool, attentive and laid back. I'll be back for sure! read more
