Ok, this place is stellar (no pun intended)! The service is top notch, with enough staff to make every table feel like they have a personal server. I like the simple atmosphere, with clean and modern decor, a fully stocked bar in the center of the restaurant, and specialty cocktails even for breakfast. The food is simply spectacular. Fresh, local, organic, lots of gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian options, and an incredibly versatile menu. We ordered fresh squeezed OJ and it was divine. My partner ordered the Florentine Benny and it was perfect! The eggs...just perfect little yellow and white pillows of gooey goodness over focaccia bread, Carmelo Ed onions, tomatoes, arugula, and so much flavor! I got the Roasted Squash Sunrise and WOW! A roasted half an avocado with roasted squash and tomatoes, Peoria's, and micro greens. This was hands down my favorite thing. So much flavor! Unfortunately we arrived on a day that a cook decided not to show up for work and it was chaos with the staff trying to figure out how to seat and get people fed. We were all at the mercy of the single cook dictating when people could be seated and when they could place an order. The food was ok, I had the Crabcakes Benny, the toast was overcooked and hard and the poached eggs under done. It did taste like it was made with fresh ingredients so I give them kudos for that. Basically it was over an hour to be seated and there was minimal customers there with plenty of open tables but instead they made us stand for an hour rather than at least give us a table to sit at and some water and bread while we waited. Sorry but I wouldn't be back, I know things happen when staff don't show up but they could have made much better choices to make waiting customers comfortable. read more

Well, if it's true that they are closed haven't driven by lately. They deserve it. I have never in my entire life. Seem such a fiasco. Walked out the last time after waiting 30 minutes to place an order they weren't busy they apparently had no idea around the place the servers were usually somewhat terse and the only thing they had going for them in my opinion was that they had fresh orange juice the menu was overpriced. In 2023 my wife was diagnosed with celiac disease. Since then it has been a painful and discouraging experience to have to pass up on experiences and fun due to the lack of safety for gluten allergies. We found Stella Luna on the "Find Me Gluten Free" app, and were immediately enticed by the cute, light ambience of the restaurant, enhanced by a great chill country playlist, perfect for an afternoon bite and drink. As soon as we sat down we immediately were overjoyed at the level of care and consideration for EVERYONE with allergies. Our server Shelby provided beyond extraordinary service and was patient as we explained all allergies. There aren't many places in Big Bear that we can go to have a nice sit-down breakfast. Stella Luna is a great find. They are in a great location on the edge of the village, have good ambience, and it's a place I would love to keep coming back to. Why? The staff is friendly, their menu selection is all about fresh ingredients, table service is good, and the food is fantastic. During our arrival, they looked like they got slammed by the morning crowd so we waited about 15 minutes to get a table. The hostesses chatted with us and kept us entertained until we got seated. Our waiter was just as friendly and provided excellent service. I had the traditional breakfast with included focaccia, eggs, sausage, and potatoes. We shared pancakes - the jalapeno pancake was surprising delicious. In short, all four of us had a nice breakfast experience at Stella Luna. Looking forward to coming back! read more

Absolutely horrible service. We were a party of 11!quiet people, willing to get arranged in any way and as many tables as needed. They would not take a group higher than 8, no matter what we said and asked. Even if I try to make sense of it the entire afternoon it still won't make sink to me that they won't take a party bigger than 8. On the way out a couple that was eating there said that we were lucky that we didn't because the food was terrible. I guess we dodged a billet but it was a very upsetting experience. Came here for breakfast on a Saturday. This place is super cute! Ordered the crab cake benedict, pancakes, and a breakfast burrito. All items were good! I thought the crab cake benedict was a unique take on eggs Benedict that I thoroughly enjoyed. My husband said the breakfast burrito was on the meat heavy side. We sat outside even though it was very cold because we had our dog with us. Waitress was very understanding about it! They brought us water damaged crinkly menus which was fine but the water jugs they brought out were dirty and had old crusted ketchup on them. Very family friend place with great food, we loved everything! We got the burrata appetizer and 2 burgers with regular fries and sweet potato fries. I will be remembering those sweet potato fries for a long time to come. Everything was high quality, the ambiance was wonderful and location was great, right in the village. Not your typical Big Bear spot, which is refreshing. This spot is bright, fresh, with lovely outside seating, and a clean modern feel. I have a ton a dietary restrictions and Stella Luna offered so many choices. They actually have separate gluten safe cooking area/fryers. I ordered the GF BLT with the roasted squash side. Wow! That squash was the best squash dish I have ever had! I think I ate it all before my sandwich! Their GF bread is one of a kind, not the typical white cardboard, it was light fluffy and delicious! Also pretty sure no one on the Mountain offers a bottomless mimosa brunch either! Daniel the bartender made me the most amazing bloody mary! I wanted spicy and they were out of pepper vodka so he hand muddled fresh jalapeños and made his own. Staff was super friendly and the atmosphere was refreshing. DOG FRIENDLY, Fantastic service and delicious food! They have a lot of veggie/vegan options for me while also catering to the meat eaters so my wife and I each had plenty of options to choose from. Underrated based on my experience. Tyler was our waiter and gave us top notch service, helping us on the patio even when it was 42 degrees out so they could accommodate our pup. He was also very quick and attentive. The ambiance was relaxing and welcoming. We got turned away from Oakside across the street because they supposedly closed the patio and were extremely unfriendly, but did suggest this place and so we are grateful for that. I wish it was rated higher on Yelp like it deserves so we would have had it be our first choice. Glad it worked out in the end and we go to have a really great date night. read more

Busy weekend as you can imagine but the family still got what they wanted and it was a great start to our trip. The Chorizo Nachos absolutely hit the spot. This is a good brunch spot. Everything they make is from scratch. Can be a bit of a wait time, but the service makes up for it. Our waiter, Tyler, was so helpful and extremely attentive. As a local, I REALLY wanted to like this place. It was a lovely rainy summer day and their garage doors were open which was great! The greeting was nice, decor was modern and clean with a bit of a mid century vibe. Bathroom was tidy, with nice smelling soap. There's pretty paintings hanging here and there (hopefully locally sourced). I ordered the crab cake Benedict, husband ordered breakfast burger. Waiters were very kind and smiley. I gotta keep it real, food was mediocre at best. Everything seemed so under seasoned. Benedict was so flat. I used a bunch of salt and pepper to give it more flavor. Still didn't want it. Breakfast burger was grass fed beef with fried egg and avocado (since they were out of bacon, waiter added avocado instead). Very flavorless beef. Although the wait staff was peppy and friendly, nobody ever asked how the food was. We drank water. I tried the focaccia bread to start, it was ok, but they didn't make it. The restaurant seemed nice and cute, but the bottom line is that the place needs to be run MUCH MORE EFFICIENTLY and the food needs to be better. First off, our waiter was nice but he wasn't familiar with the menu or ingredients. I ordered wings and a side of carrots /celery...but then later found out they were out of the wings so I had to quickly choose something else. Also, we ordered a shirley temple for our kids and we were told they didn't have that...and then a few minutes later we saw that shirley temples were delivered to a different table by a different waitress right behind us. Then our food (for four people) was delivered (aside from the app which was good) at 3 different times so our kid got his cheeseburger, but he finished that by the time my wife's salad came out a bit later...and then about 10 minutes after her salad was delivered the remainder of our food was delivered. It was a bummer. Again, the staff was nice, but the little things all added up to a frustrating experience. For example, all of the staff were wearing normal street clothes so it was confusing to ask for help. Also, at one point a "waitress" tried to deliver the wrong food to our table and when we told her we didn't order it, she walked around asking each table if they had ordered it. It was kind of a hot mess. They really need a knowledgable manager who can implement processes because it felt pretty disorganized. If they want to stay in business with the competition around them, they really need to do better. read more

The focaccia for the table is a must. I got a squash salad and the ingredients were wholesome and fresh. Their sweet potato fries was also good. The place was clean and had a great ambiance. I tried writing a review for Stella Luna back in January but they didn't officially have their restaurant on Yelp. I've checked back and it's been up for a bit! I came for lunch with my girls before going home and since they were opening, it was a 20-25 min wait as all the restaurants at Big Bear Lake were packed on a Sunday noon. They ran out of all their benedicts that day so I got the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Melt. It was on a focaccia square and a bit pricy for what it was, but tasty and their hot sauces are what made it better! I wish it was a sandwich or something and came with some greens. As for service, our server was awesome and handled the soft opening well. I would be very likely to try this place again when some new menu items up and perhaps some mimosas for the brunch vibes :) read more

Good food and nice ambiance; service was a little slow but I appreciate any kind of service in Big Bear. Food was really good. Bottomless mimosas were a nice thing, but the champagne is Andre. I may go for a regular champagne bottle next time and skip the bottomless which is on average 4 glasses anyway. I would suggest that if they offer bottomless that they just leave the bottle on the table and service won't seem as slow. Nice place though overall. read more
