No wait. Great breakfast! Fast service. Normal diner atmosphere, cute Betty Boop decorations. Eggs Benedict and home fries seasoned well, tasty and filling! Good portions.

Western omelette with mozzarella cheese. Rye toast and hash brown patties on the side.

Great no frills diner that is serving up good food. Western omelette was delicious and a good portion. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the rye toast was. Also enjoyed that hash brown patties were an option as a side. I did find it strange that it was an up charge to add either the patties or home fries on the side of the omelette. Every diner I've ever been to just includes them without the extra charge.

Stella's is a favorite for breakfast/brunch when I'm in Syracuse. It's the cutest Betty Boop-themed diner, very casual, seat yourself, come as you are vibes. The food is always delicious. They have home style meals, served in generous ortions. The service is great too - if you order coffee, the servers periodically come by, refill your cup and check on you. Just a great small town feel diner for when you want a simple, filling meal.

We stopped at Stella's for breakfast after sleeping through the hotel's included breakfast on our road trip (bummer!). But Stella's came recommended by the front desk and was a delight. We didn't know how busy it would be, but pulling into the parking lot we thought we were in for a serious wait. Thankfully, as busy as this place is, they move fast, and a table was ready for us in about 10 minutes. I ordered the Monte Cristo- my first so I have nothing to compare it to, but it was good. Hubby had the veggie burrito and it was huge! Definitely met his appetite, but was lacking in flavor, even with all the vegetables. Our niece kept it simple with a bagel and a side of bacon, and she cleaned her plate. Service was efficient and kind. Kudos to all of the staff. Betty Boop paraphernalia was everywhere and a great nostalgic theme for the place.

Decent food. Decent service. Chill atmosphere. We all had Patty Melts and they were okay. Not great. We all asked for different "doneness" and they all came out the same. Medium rare: well done Medium: well done Medium well: well done. Our fries were the same way. One of us asked for extra crispy, one asked for light, all three came out the same color. Somewhere in the middle. More than ought, not exactly crispy. Oh. And I asked for extra onions on my patty melt and for the onions to be well done. Nope. Got the same amount of onions as my friends, and they weren't any more done than anyone else's Meh. It was edible so I'd go again for convenience because it was so close to the hotel, but I'd keep my expectations low.

The place was packed on a Saturday morning but we found seats at the bar. Coffee was good and they were good about warm-ups but otherwise service was understandably hectic, we had to ask for silverware when our food came, ask for the check a few times etc. we got eggs, bacon, pancakes and breakfast potatoes and everything was pretty mid but would try again.

Dreamy homemade hash! One of the best I have ever had and a tasty sandwich. Our server Amanda was also such a boss and attentive! Definitely will be back!

The best diner in Syracuse. Stella's is an authentic old school diner, with a huge menu. Servers are personable, blunt, and nice and the food is amazing. Breakfast and lunch are extremely good and they make some good omelettes, burgers, and lunch sandwiches. A must try for a late morning or early dinner meal.

Food was great and portions were big! Bread was soo yummy! It was busy but we got seated right away and service was great! Employees were very nice and were friendly to everyone there! A great diner with great food.

This was the best diner breakfast I've had in a very long time. I'll get my one grouse, not a complaint, out of the way first. The rye bread didn't have seeds. But... The coffee was fresh ground. The pot emptied so fast it was always fresh brewed. I'm a weird coffee person, and that was the best cup out of a Bunn maker I've ever had. The scrambled eggs were properly cracked from the shell, not from a bucket. The sausage patty was made with a mild breakfast sausage, hand formed from loose sausage. Home fries were cooked on the grill with enough peppers and onions to qualify as a serving of vegetables. (My wife approved.) If that is not old school enough for you, the rye toast was grilled, not toasted. Service was great, and the coffee cup never was empty. The parking lot in back is small, so if you have a large vehicle do yourself a favor and park across the street. We went on a Sunday morning. The place was full, but tables turned over quickly enough that we didn't wait. One nice touch, the bowls for creamers and jam were Syracuse China. You have to love a diner that is home town proud. And the breakfast is so good it is worth the few minutes drive off the highway.

Even though the restaurant only had two large parties and wasn't particularly busy, we still waited 35 minutes to be seated. That alone didn't make sense, but things only went downhill from there. It was my daughter's birthday, and we were hoping for a fun brunch. Our server started off friendly, but that changed quickly. We ordered our drinks and food at the same time--a chai tea for me, a specialty alcoholic milkshake for my daughter, and no drink for her boyfriend, plus three entrées and a poutine. The drinks took 50 minutes to arrive. The food took over an hour and a half. During all this, the server seemed to avoid our table entirely. When my daughter's boyfriend finally managed to get her attention--very politely, even mentioning that he himself is a server--he simply asked if she had an estimate on our food. She stood there with her hand on her hip and told us the kitchen was backed up, with "three orders ahead of yours," as if that explained everything. We then asked if the poutine, our appetizer, was at least ready. She said they had to make fresh potatoes for it but that she would "rush it." Eventually, she came back with the poutine, plopped it down on the table, and walked away without a single word. No "here you go," no "do you need anything," and--most importantly--no plates. I ended up getting up and asking the hostess for plates so we could actually eat the appetizer. For a place that markets itself as a "fancy diner" with "Instagram-worthy" dishes, the service and execution were nowhere near acceptable. If you're going to lean into trendy presentation and premium pricing, you need the staff to support it. Hire more people. Train them. Do something--because this was unacceptable from start to finish. We won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for a smooth, enjoyable dining experience. **EDIT** I would like to include the fact of the over priced, over salted, food items don't seem to cover the cost to upgrade your cracked booths so that people's bums are hurt from sitting on them. Needs to be updated and correct staffing issues so that food will be "adequate" for the price. Go anywhere on Westcott than here.

Walking through the restaurant was nice as the space was very large and the decor indoor was cozy and whimsical. Our server was nice throughout the meal. However, I did get a water glass that had marks on it that looked like someone just drank out of it and a crumb on the rim. I asked them if they could get me a clean cup and they ended up bringing the same one as the same mark and crumb were still there. For food, our table ordered a few items to share. We got: -CAULIFLOWER WINGS: The chutney/salsa on top of the fried cauliflower was nice and gave the item a little sour kick. However, the cauliflower itself was not cooked fully so not as soft as I wanted it to be. -SYRACUSE POUTINE: The appearance of the poutine was not the best. However, the gravy it came with was very flavorful and tasty. The potatoes themselves were not fried and were in wedge form but went well with the gravy. The small globs of melted cheese on top were a nice complement. -CAJUN SLIDERS: The slider compliments/sauce went well together but the sliders themselves had grill marks on it which gave a bitter bite to those parts of the slider. Additionally, the fried shrimp inside of the slider still had the tail on and so it was a bit of a surprise to bite into a full tail while eating a slider. All in all, a cute spot to see people but food had some hit or miss components.

Sadly, a train didn't go by but it is hard to fault the diner for that. It has a compact footprint with about a half-dozen booths and some chairs at the bar/grill. I counted at least seven employees while we were there and they all were working hard. They were friendly, though busy. I ordered a burger and fries, my wife had a cold tuna sandwich, and my son had pancakes. My burger was very greasy and not cooked as I ordered it but it was good. It started to fall apart upon picking it up (the lettuce and tomato weren't helping matters) and I resorted to a fork and knife. The fries were very good. My wife ordered her sandwich twice and they still didn't get it correct, though they took care of it on the bill (which we weren't expecting). The pancakes were thick and chewy, but I really liked them and wish I had ordered them instead. Considering the staff walked place our booth at least 20 times during our visit I was never offered a refill, and we were only checked on once. Perhaps they expect you to complain if you need something. I dunno, but I hope to be back sometime in the future when the trains are running. Note: at 1:45 we were leaving and they dumped a ton of onions on the grill to cook. No idea who was going to eat them, but perhaps that is how they get customers out at closing time!
