If you follow me you'll know that I stick strictly to reviews of old school joints and their MEATBALL GRINDER (aka Sub) game. Not all meatball subs are equal! And I'm always in search of that perfect sandwich. Stella's - to my shock - fell short. Their meatballs are not homemade!!! Why??? I was quite surprised given the old school feel of the place - it looks right out of the old days with the wooden booths and pizza ovens behind the counter. Why they don't use a homemade meatball is a mystery to me, because they has a very friendly and welcoming vibe and offered great customer service. The sub was tasty, with a very high quality marinara and just the right amount of toast on the roll and a good melt on the cheese. It was wrapped well and not too messy to eat. All pluses, but it fell short in term of the actual meatball, that tasted right out of the freezer section from Stop And Shop. While I waited, I got a slice and I think it suffered from that slow heat lamp death. The fresh pies going out the door looked ten times better then the reheated one I got. I might not be back from their grinder ... but I'd definitely revisit this joint to chat with their friendly owner, soak up the old school vibes and pick up a fresh and hopefully amazing pizza pie! Hey - they have anchovies here - Anchovies, please!! Stellllllaaaaah!!!!!

Apparently this passes as a meatball pizza People look at the pic, all the brown and black sports are just cooked cheese, the meatballs are one tiny piece per slice. Just ordered a thick dough large ex cheese and meatball. Got the extra cheese, barley any meatball. My wife called and the girl that answered basically said that's how we do it. So I called and asked to speak with the manager, I got the owner instead. I went on to tell him a loud the barley any meatball and he said they use 4 meatballs and crumble them up, I said I can send u a pic and you can see that it barley makes one. Mike said you come over I'll make a new one and show you how me make it (in a very condescending tone) I said how long and he just hung up. After two years of almost weekly orders we are done. Nobody deserves to be talked to that way, especially in these inflationary times, we're every discretionary dollar is precious. Mike you've just lost a pair of customers

Pizza is good, thin and lots of toppings. Sandwiches could use hoagie/sub rolls. Prompt service all around!

If I could give this 6 stars I would! Best BBQ chicken pizza I've ever had. Feel bad for the busboy (think his name was Andrew?) though.

Roksana's Persian Food Saved Our Graduation Celebration…read more I cannot thank Roksana's Persian Food enough. After another restaurant (Caspian Persian Cuisine) unexpectedly cancelled our graduation event catering at the last minute, we were left scrambling just hours before a gathering of 40 people. It was a stressful situation, and we honestly weren't sure how we were going to pull it off. Then we found Roksana's. Despite the extremely short notice, they immediately understood the urgency, stepped up, and delivered. The entire order was prepared on time, complete, and exactly what we needed. They even threw in a few extras, which was an incredibly thoughtful gesture during an already chaotic day. And the food? Absolutely incredible! Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Our guests loved it, and several people asked where the food came from. What could have been a disaster turned into a memorable celebration thanks to their professionalism, generosity, and outstanding food. It's easy to provide good service when everything goes according to plan. It's much harder to rise to the occasion when someone needs help at the last minute. Roksana's did exactly that. We are immensely appreciative and grateful. They didn't just cater our event. They saved it. Highly recommended, and we will absolutely be back.

The koobideh was more eggy than it was beefy. It almost felt like that there was barely any beef in the koobideh. The second time we also had beef soltany, to give another item a try. This item was alright. You could taste the pomegranate molasses in the soltany. While the flavor was pleasant, I was expecting more char from the kebab (especially from the sugars in the pomegranate molasses) and for the meat to be more tender, after the staff hyped up this particular item. I also don't think that the price of $29 for this item was justified.

A location in an quiet residential part of Watertown? Now, it's really just a take-out/delivery spot. The restaurant is located in the back of the Armenian Cultural and Educational Center, where they have an industrial kitchen. There is limited signage. Basically, you go to the back of the building, where it is unfinished and basically a dirt plot. The backdoor is open where you can pick up your order if you elect to do takeout. I only saw one person working (a nice middle-aged lady). Unfortunately, some delivery person took my order so I had to wait around for the restaurant to fulfill the order. Otherwise, the food was terrific. The braised beef wrap was fresh and flavorful. The fattoush and Armenian salads were very fresh and were great accompaniments. In their hurry to fulfill the order, the restaurant missed one of the wraps. But they offered to refund us for the missing wrap, so it was fine. If you are hankering for some Anoush'ella, but are in the suburbs, you now don't have to go into Boston or Cambridge anymore. Just go to a non-descript back of a cultural center (or better, just get it delivered).
