We as a family had breakfast at this restaurant, the service was very good. I was disappointed when my potato pancake came back. The cook had taken pancake batter and mixed a handful of shredded potatoes within it, not the potato pancakes I was expecting, I did not enjoy this. Another person within or group ordered crepes and when it came the crepe were cold and filled with a creme she did not order, she just want the crepe. The server graciously took back the order and exchanged them to plain crepe. The problem with them is they were cold and after eating two of the crepe she lifted the third to eat it she found a hair under it. That was the end of her breakfast. The servers took that meal off the ticket, but still! I will not be eating there any time soon! read more

Good quality food and reasonably priced. Everything was fresh. I got the classic breakfast with bacon, eggs, grits, hashbrowns, and fruit. The bacon was a bit over cooked but not too much since I like crispy bacon. The eggs were real eggs (not carton or powdered). The grits were cooked good. Hashbrowns cooked perfectly (crispy and some soft spots). The fruit was fresh (not from a fruit tray). The coffee was a bit on the light side but okay. Our server, Al was great. Sterling's was great! The building is very nice and the staff was very friendly. I took my wife, sister, and niece there on Valentines day. My wife and sister/niece got the salad bar. It's about $11 for the salad bar and soup. There were 6 selections of soup which all looked good. The salad bar is huge and full of great options. They both loved the salad bar. I had the chicken fried steak sandwich. It was awesome! Served with some gravy, it was a delicious sandwich - I definitely recommend it! It's a great place and I'll definitely be back! read more

Came here on a Sunday mid-day. Knew it would be very busy and did have about a 15 minute wait. Had no real problems with the service or friendliness of the staff. My low rating is based solely on the quality versus price of their food. I ordered a club sandwich. My companion had a spicy burger. We each ordered a Coke. Total cost of the meal was $40 with a 15% tip. The club sandwich was on basic bread, very little in the way of meat and no cheese. The side salad again also was very basic. My companions burger was overcooked as well as the fries. Could have ordered the exact same meal at a Denny's, received about the same quality and paid $10-$15 less for the meal. read more

after waiting over 30minutes (after my reservation time) at their over priced neighbor, my wife and I decided to head over to sterling's instead. we were seated right away, and saw they had a steak and lobster special for just $19!! That was a great and tasty surprise. our waitress was very friendly, always paying attention to our drinks and wasn't one of those hovering waitresses. just the right amount of attentiveness. My family and I had dinner at the Queensgate location this evening. When asked our drink order, I inquired about their bottles of wine (since when we had been there in the past, we were able to get a relatively decent bottle of wine for $20-25). The numbers next to the placard said 50-100. I asked the waitress. She said those were code #s, and not price. Ordered a bottle, got charged for $68. They said it was my mistake, I should have read the info- flip card thing more carefully. Very bad experience, especially in a restaurant that should not, ever, (like, it's my grandparent's restaurant of choice), even have a $68 bottle of wine on there menu. Go figure. A couple weeks ago, on a Sunday, I was in the dining room part of the restaurant when the booth besides me found a crock roach in their waffle. I loved this restaurant for years, but I haven't been back since and I never will. I'm very concerned about the health concerns at Sterlings and do not recommend. read more

They have the best breakfast in the Tri-City Area. The omelets are outstanding especially the San Diego. You can't go wrong with the chicken fried stake either as breakfast on on a sandwich. My wife also loves the soup and salad bar. read more

While on a 5 week RV trip across the Northwest US with friends of ours, (separate RVs thank heavens) we had a general idea of where we should be according to the calendar and spent a couple of extra days in locations of great interest. For example we stayed an extra day in Yellowstone Park and an extra day in Glacier Park but Sterlings steak and seafood was the reason we stayed 2 extra days in the tri-city area. We ate at a lot of restaurants on this trip but none came to the level of Sterlings. We pulled into town and into Sterlings. Couldn't believe the price of steak and Lobster, I think it was around $19.00 Three of us ordered that and two of us upgraded the steaks for next to nothing. Steak, cooked to perfection and the lobster was perfect. Good heavens we have spent that much on bad food and thought oh well. I have never had a better steak or lobster. I compared it to lobster fest at red lobster a couple months ago and they served 3 variety of lobster, none as good as Sterlings. My wife ordered the pasta with multiple cheeses and said it was the best she has ever eaten including her own. She made such a "to do" over it that she asked the manager for the recipe. He didn't give her the recipe but packaged up a large "to go"container of it and told her to enjoy it the next day as well. Free of charge. The service was excellent, quick, attentive and knowledgeble. We made it a point to tell our waitress that and she smiled and said she was the 3rd generation of her family to serve at Sterlings. Her grandmother, mother and now her. She said she loved working there and when asked why, she told us the owner expects absolute excellence in every aspect of the restaurant but then treats his employees as the best employees in the industry. This bespeaks the value behind our experience. We decided to stay an extra day because she told us their breakfasts couldn't be beat. We ate breakfast there the next day and had a similar experience with a different crew. We then stayed a third day and had lunch at one of their other locations. Another home run. I only write reviews when I feel something is WAY out of the norm, good or bad. This place is WAY above the norm. Kudos to Sterlings. read more

I'm reading this article about how Sterling's Restaurant added a line to tip the Kitchen. I laughed at first. Then I thought to myself how much does the owner pay his workers? This is just another way for an owner to make a higher profit. Restaurants don't have a huge profit margin in the first place. However fork over some bread to the cooks yourself instead of having the general public and the server fit the bill. Everyone knows what they are getting into before they start working, or the risks when going into business. The top has always been for the server and the front of the house. If you aren't paying it, it shouldn't be your decision where the money goes. Quit trying to manipulate it. This is why I tip in cash. read more

Our office hosted a function here last night for 55 people. Everyone ordered at approximately the same time and all had something different. Visited this location a number of times and usually order the Chicken Alfredo with a side salad. This partially stems from the ludicrously large menu Sterling's offers, which doesn't give me confidence any of it would be outstanding food. Some times I've had good pasta, a few times I've got something closer to soup. The side salad wasn't particularly impressive but not the worst I've had. Generally would recommend for a group of people with a variety of tastes, possibly not pleased with restaurants with more limited menus. read more

We had awesome service today! As soon as we walked in we were happily greeted and told they were cleaning up a booth for us. Once we sat down our waitress was right there to fill up our coffee. I ordered the crepe combo with crispy bacon and my boyfriend ordered the light side french toast with crispy bacon as well. I thought the bacon was perfectly cooked! Not burnt and not floppy, definitely made me happy. My boyfriends meal was the perfect size, he cleaned his plate. Overall an amazing experience. read more

Was part of a group that had made dinner reservations over a month in advance for a party of 25. When we arrived, we were pleased to see that there was a large table awaiting for us. There were two of the wait staff assigned to us and there was very little other activity in the restaurant. Ore beverage orders were taken within 5 minutes of being seated. They followed right behind with taking our dinner orders. That's when things completely fell apart. An hour later, some members of our party were getting their meals before even receiving their beverage and their soup or salad.The salads looked as if they were made earlier in the week and were wilted and dried out. The beverages were delivered after they had been poured and sitting at the bar for ten minutes. As the meals were being brought out three were sent back for not being cooked enough with the steaks still mooing, my wife & i' were sent back for being well done instead of medium rare. They were both sent back again because they took the same steaks and tossed our beiing wrong order an over cooked they took them back to the broiler again..I asked to speak to the Manager, he was a total waste of time, but was a great example as to why the service was so bad. This place under the current ownership & management isn't worth the $5.00 discount they offered off our meal. Since 1/2 the groups meals were served with only minor problems, they were able to have their meal together. My wife and I went across town to Alexander and had a real nice meal with great service. Sterlings is never my choice when we go out to eat. I only go here when my boyfriend brings it up. I've never had a bad meal here though. Service is always good. And even when they're busy food usually comes out pretty fast. My boyfriend always gets an omelet, he loves them. They look good but I'm not a breakfast person so I've never tried them. Their steaks have good flavor, but they NEVER cook them right for me. I ask for medium (supposed to be a hot pink center). It always comes out medium well or well done. Still tastes good so I just eat it, but I'm disappointed because I LOVE my steaks medium. Their burgers are good. I love their fries. I really like their fish and chips and fried shrimp. The salad bar is pretty good. They make their own soups. I haven't found one I'm crazy about, but they're not bad. They're crepes are good, and I love their bacon. One thing that does annoy me is WHY do they have to sprinkle parsley over everything??? You can't taste it, but you don't need it either. I always forget to ask for no parsley, but get so annoyed when I see it sprinkled all over everything. What's the point of it?? One more thing, the decorations are in desperate need of a good dusting. We were sitting by the butterfly decorations a few nights ago and they were absolutely disgusting. Overall it's not a bad place to eat. I continue to go here only because my boyfriend likes it. They have a big menu so there's something for everyone. read more

My husband and I just had dinner at sterlings queensgate restaurant and we both ordered the ribeye steak dinner. I have to say I have never been more disappointed in two steaks. My husband orders med rare and it was medium well I ordered well done and I got jerky. Both steaks were so bland that I had to use A1 steak sauce. My potato was luke warm that even my 1/2 tsp of butter wouldn't melt! Our waiter was so busy running from table to table we were forgotten in the corner ( it was a steady night, but not Super busy since it's not full capacity because of covid! ) our drinks ran empty several times and when we told a different waiter about our steaks no offer to fix them was offered just a oh sorry. We waited for twenty minutes after we had finished with our meals ( my husband only ate 1/2 his steak and his fries were served cold and the butter for the steak was frozen!). No one came to check on us for refills or dessert we finally left. At the check out we told the attendant we were paying about our experience and still nothing. I'm so very upset a $78.00 dinner experience and our valentine evening was totally ruined! OH and when my husband asked for the citrus herb butter to be added to his steak the waiter said that's for fish you know right. My husband said no, but I would still like it to which the waiter replied, I'll tell them to put it on the side so it will be your fault if your steak is ruined and then it wasn't even brought out we had to ask for it and it was almost frozen very hard so it was hard to melt in his steak! Being referred to as bro was unprofessional (especial for my husbands age when the waiter was younger) for a fine dining restaurant. I went here yesterday to take out my mom for breakfast and I had an amazing first experience at this restaurant. I was greeted right away and seated, the waiter was super nice and took really good care of use. he knew exactly what we needed before we even asked him for it, which is always nice. Are breakfast was amazing and was exactly how we like it, our bacon was cooked to perfection it wasn't to crispy but it wasn't limp either. Over all the whole experience we had was amazing and the staff was perfect. I would defiantly recommend Sterling's to anybody that wants to have a good breakfast with friends or family! read more

My husband and I are new to the Richland area and decided to pay Sterling's a visit. Seafood was good- nothing outstanding. Service was good- nothing to complain about. Steak was dry- which was a turn off. The mixed drinks at the bar was a work of art! I loved the drinks. The bartender came over and asked us how the drinks were! Yes, they did take an extra 5 minutes to make- but they were worth it! Seems like a place I will try again. read more
