The service was very quick! The lady taking our order was super helpful on what to recommend. I got a Philly Cheesesteak and it was delicious. It was $14.99 and I could've added fries and a drink for $5.49. The cheesesteak was pretty big for the price!

Moved to a bigger location. Called ahead and they had my burger ready within a few minutes. The mix of k&m mixed with the special sauce was a great addition to the burgers' beefy flavor and crisp edges. Super fresh toppings and clean dining area. One issue was the restrooms were out of order.

Great little sandwich spot! I stopped here while visiting and had an Italian Beef sandwich that was incredible! I also tried their homemade chili and was super impressed! If you're in the area and looking for a good sandwich at a reasonable price, look no further!

I'm so mad that I did not find Steve's bite when I first got into the area. Only complaint is that the space is a small store front with only 4 tables. However they rotated people thru pretty efficiently. Was guided by the friendly counter attendant to get the Italian beef and she was 100% on the money. It had a great flavor and had a good level of spice. Only took about 5 minutes to get my order and they were pretty busy. Oh ya my fries were hot and crispy, just how they are supposed to be. Next time I am at the Mc Cormick center I will walk the .4 miles to visit Steve's again.

Great sandwiches and meals in a small mostly-takeout place with seating for ten or twelve. We walked along Cermak from our hotel, our first night in town, just for an easy-to-find meal. They were friendly and attentive as we chose from the menu over the counter. I wanted my first meal to be Italian Beef, and theirs is flavorful and juicy, made the way you ask, so i got it "wet" with extra juice on the side, with sautéed sweet green peppers, delicious, with a side of piping hot crispy fries. We also had the huge serving of perfectly tender sweet salmon at a reasonable price. We ate in, while most customers seem to come for takeout, and we each had enough leftovers for another meal. Cermak is dark along here in the evening, but it felt busy enough and safe. This is good food at Cermak and Michigan, convenient to hotels and to the McCormick West building, and it's walkable from the Cermak-Chinatown stop on the Red Line.

Stress levels were high, but thankfully the folks at the Chicago Passport Agency had everything moving smoothly. With a little time before heading back to pick it up, I figured I should grab lunch. That's when Flaco's Tacos, just a couple doors down, started calling my name. And I'm really glad I listened. The moment I walked in I thought, yep...this is the spot. No gimmicks. No trendy taco fusion experiments. Just the unmistakable signs of a legit taqueria: a Mexican mama working the kitchen in the back, the smell of grilled meat filling the air, and a cooler full of aguas frescas ready to go. I ordered three tacos: al pastor, grilled fish, and carne asada. This was the real deal. No sour cream. No piles of shredded cheese. Just onions, cilantro, and a little squeeze of lime if you want it. The al pastor was the star of the show--perfectly seasoned, juicy, and so flavorful it honestly didn't even need the lime. The grilled fish taco had a great sauce that added flavor without overpowering the fish. And the carne asada was everything a classic street taco should be--simple, savory, and excellent with a little salsa verde. And don't get me started on the Agua de Jamaica. It might seem like a small detail, but the woman serving me filled the cup with just the right amount of ice--cold and refreshing without watering it down. It was the perfect companion to a plate of tacos. You can keep your fancy tacos. Give me Flaco's tacos and a cold Jamaica any day. And honestly? If every passport emergency ended with tacos like this, I wouldn't mind renewing mine a little more often.

As far as I understand it, they take the hot dog and/or the cheese stick, and they roll it in the raw corn dough several times to get the appropriate coating, then fry it fresh. No pre-frozen, pre-made stuff here! I always opt for the combo of half hot dog, half cheese stick, and they are consistently hot, fresh, and delicious. I also really appreciate the variety, whereas they have, with everything from your classic to Hot Cheeto, ramen, and even Sweet Chili Doritos. The speciality ones may have sauce, too As for the sandwich: I absolutely want to give them points here because this thing was massive! The chicken was hot, fresh, tender, and well seasoned. The bread was also high quality and lightly toasted. Points also given for the veggies! However, this sandwich does suffer from a couple things: First, it needed a decent beating with a tenderizer! The thickness was wildly inconsistent. In some areas of the sandwich, I can't unhinge my jaw that wide, and in others, no chicken was to be seen. Secondly, while I do appreciate that the dough was crisp, it was overly thick. As a result, especially when it comes to giving the sandwich a squeeze or if you end up making it into a fork and knife affair, the breading just sloughs off. With all this said, Kong Dog makes excellent corn dogs, and makes for a great occasional treat. However, I think their chicken sandwich is not something I'd order again, not because it was so horrible-terrible, but because there are better chicken sandwiches within a five-minute walk.
